Look up Briar Nolet Dangerous and you'll see the video, she was great. This girl is great too, just wondering if the whole concept came from Briars dance.

Wow. That static kind of transition or syncopated feel totally is in sync with this MJ peice. Its snap snap snap cha cha cha not meant to be flowing transitions hehehe the more i watch it the more it makes total sense. The choreo interprets the beat of smooth criminal fabulously. Very good. Actually, I disagree with your statement. While I did not give it a thumbs down, its obvious that the young lady is extremely talented but as a dancer, dancing is not just about spinning, leaping, jumping and acrobatics. Dancing is about dance steps, combinations and telling a story with your body. Some people who gave it a thumbs down could be looking at more classical aspects and it doesn't mean that they are jealous but just looking at the art of dance in a different way.

I don't feel it was a "fun" routine and it isn't my cup of tea. That being said, once again I feel she is obviously extremely talented. Not everyone has the same tastes.

WOW! I don't know that song (or type of music) or that type of dance but, man, she was good! She made it look effortless, her moves coordinated perfectly with the music, and she looked like she was enjoying herself during the entire performance. Outstanding talent!

If I had any critique at all (and mind you I stopped dancing when I was 17 so take this for the penny candy it's worth) is that she could "give in" to her movements more. Every movement should be to the breadth of her reach from every molecule in her body. Not just an arm or a leg that is raised to the "correct" position but as beyond that from her last digit to last digit .To put it in terms I've heard used during dance auditions she looks a bit "pageant-y." Talent isn't just skill, and it's not just skill and charisma. Talent is when skill and charisma meet both steel resolve and a warrior's commitment. Honestly, however, all that would take for this little lady is for a coach/instructor/choreographer to demand it of her. She's got serious potential if she, her coach, and her family are serious *about* her potential.
I am not a dancer. I watched this before reading your critique. I wish I could say I understand everything you're saying. But I simply don't have the depth of knowledge of the art form. I thought she was perfect. But I bow to your expertise. . All I can say now having read what you have written is that I hope she comes across someone like yourself in her future endeavors. This girl is so talented. Thank you for sharing what I feel is very insightful analysis.
This is beyond just this young ladies clean amazing lines, or rubber band like flexibility, this is musicality far better then slme professionals can even have... at times it felt like her moves were making the music not just moving to it....
