    I use palm kernel and cocoa butter pretty often, which means I have to soap at 95F or higher… so you’re right that other than some oils that require higher temps, the temperature doesn’t matter too much. 😊♥️
    Oh… and morning Tammy!😊

    Morning, Tammy! ❤ Yeah, the soap temp thing is ridiculous. I also usually stop blending at emulsion, too, unless I'm doing layers.

      Hi Wendy! yeah that temp thing! I stressed over that for way too long!💕

    Such a pretty soap! The fragrance sounds amazing! I agree the temp thing is strange unless your recipe needs a higher working temp. I'm like you, I like to soap in the 80s. Excellent video as always! ❤😊

    It’s lovely! When I had too much soap in my piping bag, I grabbed some parchment paper and did dollops on parchment so I could use them later. 😊
    Oh… and using an animal fat soap recipe for piping is a bad idea, because it takes FOREVER to get thick enough. 😂

      you know Aubrey, I never think to grab parchment paper, I don't know why. Maybe your comment will put it in my head better for next time! 💕
      I knew that about lard but tallow is the same? That I didn't know! I have 35 pounds coming to me LOL - I will have to process it myself but I see a good amount of tallow soaps in my future 🤗

      @@WalnutCreekBathBoutique anytime I’ve ever used either animal fat, it took forever to thicken. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That’s even soaping at over 100F.

    Morning! At first, I wasn't loving the color choices for the soap; however, it really turned out great. Beautiful swirls :)

      thanks! I think they match the scent pretty well - I'm glad they are muted in their tone. 🤗

      thanks! you would not like the soap I just cut LOL - it is sooo orange, much more than I expected. I don't think I like it much myself and am not sure what I was thinking 😂

    I love to see you so ticketed. Glad you mention the temp for new soapers that was such a pain to do. I also soap at around 80

    In addition to safety, always keep vinegar around if your not close to a sink. Vinegar will neutralize the raw soap batter.

    I wear glasses to start with and goggles over glasses hurt. So I wear the full shield and I’m glad I do! I’ve had lye splash up onto the shield. Can’t be too careful when working with lye!

      oh I should wear a shield - I don't wear goggles either with my glasses...thanks for the tip!

    Beautiful Soaps❤ would you happen to have a printable FR document or does it change with each scent?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  3 місяці тому

      good morning! It does change with every scent - some scents have a really low usage rate for soaps - I will use a fragrance in soap as long as it is over 3% - but I usually won't make a bigger batch just in case they sit around for a bit as I'm worried that low of an amount will fade quicker (honestly don't know if this is true LOL)
      I've also had fragrances that have a high percent on IFERA but I use 4 because it is so strong it blows me away at 5

    Great video! Have you ever used refined hemp oil in soap?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  3 місяці тому

      Thanks! Yes I have used hemp, but just once. It was several years ago (I had to go look to see if I had used it LOL)
