In your spare time 😉, it would be awesome to have a “where are they now” video showing some past pond projects after filling and grass. You’ve created some gorgeous pond properties.
khx73 Posting to youtube at all feels like a good use of otherwise spare time. Hanging around old job sites taking personal video on private property, er, no.
Thank you for explaining the rolling procedure, I've seen far too many comments putting down the roller because it's not a smooth surface, so hopefully people understand it a bit better. Thanks for the video.
17:26 interesting choice of words. My grandfather used to tell me that I "get to" do this or that, instead of have to. Mindset and attitude influences from him will stay with me forever.
I was inspired by this channel to dredge my pond. It's not very BIG, so I was able to do it in a couple of hours. And most of that was emptying it with a bucket and spreading the water evenly around the garden. Pond gunk went into the compost heap, and the fountain was able to work properly. I still don't know why they didn't fit it with a filter.
Now the job is done right. Chris the master of ponds. Clever way to dispose all the crap they left you with . Call it riff raff. I see Murphy stop by to mess up the skid steer. Hope the repair is not to crazy.
Great Video.turned out good Chris.sux that the skidsteer broke down just before the concrete guy came.good that the hydraulics Were bypassable for a Quick fix. But you got her done anyway. Nice. Stay safe man.
Not to mention the trees that the owner didnt want taken out of the pond dam and will eventually fall in the pond and mess up the dam. Week before last i was finally able to get a crew out here to do our pond. It took 12 years of waiting til my husband would finally agree to have it done, and that only after 8 trees broke this past winter and landed in the pond! Its much safer now!
LOL Thanks Chris for clearing up my question in your last video regarding the sheep foot compactor. I see you do read the comments, nice to know. However, in my mind I still do wonder if a pad type attachment with the same square foot print as the roller which you just place on the ground and apply the required downward pressure would quicker and give you more control especially in and around the pipe? The dam looks excellent another skilfully complete job as always. Much respect from New Zealand.
Rinsing out your bucket...if you push the bucket straight down with the bottom of the bucket facing up, the bottom part of the bucket which is facing up, your bottom inside bucket will not get rinsed due to the air not being able to escape the bucket. Instead get a bucket full of water and giggle the bucket to clean. Give it a try.
Was trying to figure staging area, then anti seeping area and finally around overflow, to much for me to handle but yous seem to have it down with no complaints.
It might be a silly question, but why do all your dams and ponds have overflow pipes in the ground. Wouldnt it be easier to just have a low furrow in the wall that just lets the overflow run through. This furrow could have a concave spoon drain type concrete floor in it to stop erosion and also still enable a thoroughfare for small vehicles and maintenance.
It would have been great if the owner would have allowed you to clean up the pond damn. Some of those tress look like they could fall in the pond with the next wind gust. Excellent work as always.
I think a lot of us would be interested in a short interview with John . You know , how long has he been with you and what his back round is . He certainly seems to be a very experienced operator and helps out a lot on your projects . I bet he would get a kick out of it and who among us doesn't like a little recognition once in a while ?
Turned out great great as usual. Wonder how many will comment you need a plate compactor because the one you use doesn't work? There always seems to be a couple every time you use it, lol. Can tell it works because the machines don't sink any further than the loose dirt the feet on the compactor kicks up as it rolls when you drive over the soil you've compacted.
Looks like a upside down wagon or shopping cart... The owner pays by the job or hour and his bucket with squeeze thumb or finger could have taken that out in less than a minute. I wish he would have grabbed it if it was my pond 🤷🏼♂️
Nice as always Chris !! Only thing that sucks about those little jobs like that, Is that, Ya got to destroy the whole pond dam to get around to where your working at, Then ya gotta fix all that mess also !! lolol...all part of the job though...lolol... That packer works really good too !! Beats the Hell out of that "jumping jack" beating ya to death !! lolol...Have a Great Evening Man !! On too the Next....
I saw on the 10th generation dairymen channel a small remotely controlled version of this compactor. Kind of a mini roller about the size of a portable generator.
Hallo Chris, i astonishing every time with wath precision you all work drawing. Every work phase is best to thinking. Besides deserted you the work place so clean how not a nobody. Congratulation. I gladness my to the next video. Greeting to Vienna
@@ConstructionMachineryChannel absolutely not. The roots will weaken the structure, creating channels for water to seep. Worst of it all is when a root dies and rots, then there is a clear path for water to move. They were likely left per owner's request, as Chris hates trees on dams.

Should that pond dam EVER fail.... ONE part will be left STANDING.....the overflow pipe and drain wall section! 👍😉
Great job Chris.

Wow video is so clear I felt like I was right there! Good job Chris and John

Another good pond repair completed by John and Chris. Job looks great always straw and seeded when they finish a job.
I used things learned from this channel to dig my own pond and make the dam.
I was inspired by this channel to dredge my pond.

Who would have known that dirt moving could be an art form...would also love to see these projects after a good rain and overflow is functioning!
Another great video Chris so you and John and your family stay safe and keep the videos coming brother
Another fine repair, Chris.
Now the job is done right.

I can see that you really like the compaction roller on the mini. Better than walking behind a tamper.
I like that no get out of the cab quick change system!
When I was 17, I spent a summer 10 h/d walking behind a tamper in 100 deg/100% humidity. We could have made good use of a roller.
Another good job Chris! Thanks for sharing my friend! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
High 5 bro, nicely finished off as usual. Hope the skid steer is feeling much better once it is fixed. Safe travels.
That is a very nice looking pond.
Love the new job Chris n John .
Another job done & dusted. So much better than before. 🤓👍🏼🐨🦘
Absolutely fabulous, Chris. Hat off !!
Thank you and have a good day.
Have you upgraded your camera the quality was good before but today’s video the sound and vision was spot on ,good project Chris .
This is the first time I've seen a sheep's foot pattern left by at attachment , very nice!
Another one for the books, nice job Chris.👍
I love watching the compactor wheel. That thing is so cool.
It never fails when you need something the most it breaks down oh well that's life good repair. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
I like pouring cret from a excavator bucket because its just like having a pump except you dont have rent one. You can reach out and touch something
The top of that pond dam looks mighty narrow and steep on both sides. Watching you navigate the equipment around there is impressive.
Terrific video as always. Wishing you and your team another great week.

Hello from the U.K! Love the videos
greetings from the UK too. They are great videos. If you like these then look at the Tesla works in Austin and Berlin.
I like the use of the broken concrete to make a pipe surround. Sort of an Andrew Camarata culvert end.

Another fine repair by John and Chris’s pond repair service!
You and John work good together well done!!
They do until John starts backing up to get loaded!

It seems like having trees growing on the pond dam is just asking for trouble.
It is.

That pond needs cleaning around the edge's, a lot of pieces of sticks and tree stumps.

I'd like to know why you poured cement over the pipe in the center of the pond dam. Was it to give it more support? If so, why so little cement?
