The impact he's made coming into the team has made them the best defensive team in the league and his ability to break up play and get Arsenal on the ball is legit the best around. I'd say Rodri on merit is better. But if Rice continues because I think at the start of this season Rice has been better. So of course he has a shout.
Declan on it is a joke. Guy is a DM and behind Rodri but somehow burst onto the team. If we talking about form then Griezmann must be on here. I'd even put Bernardo Silva, Musiala, Valverde above Rice. So typical of that team's fan.

Then this list will be perfect. Griezmann is playing good but not having Rodri or Salah is a serious crime. They are literally carrying their teams and without them, it is hard for City and Liverpool to win. Moreover, statistically, both are better than Griezmann. So, Griezmann in subs

I still think Messi is the best player in the world but football isn't only about skill. Mbappe is the perfect balance of skill and athleticism. Jude Bellingham is currently the best in the world.

Antoine Griezmann in the 10. One of the most underrated players in history, incredible player. 13 goals already this season at Atletico.
Thing people don't realise if they don't watch him: He doesn't just sit up there as a number 9 or even 10. He tracks back all game, everytime, and still scores so many goals, it's unbelievable.

Kim Min-Jae never gets mentioned in the "Best CBs in the world" conversation and it's criminal. He's so underrated. A lot of these are Premier League based so it is what it is...
Kim has been good this season for Bayern, but he makes a fair few mistakes sometimes. Definitely a top defender atm, but Dias and vvd are the more mature and at this moment more in form center backs

Why would any La Liga midfielder be above Rodri this season?
Walker is the best fullback period, Frimpong is only unlucky that Walker plays in position. Vinicius, Neymar and MBappe have all said Walker is the toughest defender they have faced. Can Frimmpong mark this level of players out of games. Doing well in the Bundesliga is not same as being world class.
La Liga only? Who is better at 6 than Rodri?. Forget basing it only on this season, you can base it on the past 3 years and it’s still him.
Because the prem is the toughest, highest quality league in the world and it's not even close. While you could make an argument for better football coming out of La Liga or Bundersliga aesthetically, in terms of competition, pace, difficulty, the prem is miles ahead. It is simply the toughest test for a world class footballer.

Courtois is well clear of him and the rest of the bunch. Only because he's been out all season he's not in this. He actually should be regardless. He is that much better than the rest of them.

People really don't know the reality of Jet Lag, travelling from west to east means you actually suffer issues from jet lag for an entire week.
People forget Davis was and is a winger but moved to left back when someone got injured and he’s stayed there since, he’s even publicly talked about wanting to go back to playing as a winger

Ruben and VVD are better than Saliba as players, but this season, Saliba hasn't put a foot wrong. Best defensive record in the league, hasn't been dribbled passed in 8 games, and is having a stellar season. Ruben hasn't had the best of seasons this year. Players should get in based on merit and not their reputation.

Araujo is the best defender in the world bar none right now. No one dribbles past him and I’ve never seen him make a defensive mistake he hasn’t recovered from, plus he can give you a goal here and there. Lacks ball playing ability a little bit but defensively it’s not even a question

Midfield 3 should definitely be Rodri, Bellingham, Griezmann with Musiala and Wirtz(also Valvarde and FDJ probably) being honourable mentions. Don't know how Rice got in there! (he's good but not the best in the world)

Putting Kane in front of Haaland is a joke. Haaland won the treble last season with Man City and he will 10000% win the Ballon D'Or next season.
Kane is an amazing striker but doesn't have the trophies to back himself.

This is just a PL XI, not sure why you have Rodri and Rice in the same midfield, where's the creativity gonna come from with Walker at RB as well over Arnold.
If you are gonna have 2 CDMs in midfield, then one of them has to be Kimmich, if not, Musiala up front with Bellingham, who is a CM by default and Rodri behind is the pick.
Leroy Sané deserves at least a shout for his performances this season, but Salah is still #1.

People bashing Rice being here have not seen him play this season. The lad is absolutely mad, without him I highly doubt Arsenal would be at the top. He will sweep everything up and still be an active option in your attack.
It's scary to think what would have happened if he went to City, it was over for everyone even before it started.

@tonzity realistically it's szoboszlai but hearing everyone pumping maddison and rice it seems difficult to admit. I've actually watched a fair bit of spurs this season and yeah maddison has been good but it's an exaggerated reaction cause spurs haven't had anyone good for years.. similar with rice, I was expecting to see a different rice the way people bang on 'better than rodri' yet he's actually playing like a Liverpool or City youth player, very safe, careful play
Love these two. Team is decent but just not the best team on current form. Saliba in over Dias all day, rice out and musiala or griezmann in. Apart from that I think they’ve done pretty well here.
Obviously if you’re picking the best players in their positions in the world and not by form then Dias gets in as does KDB, I think courtois as a keeper is the best in world football closely followed by alisson and ederson. Davies at LB and I’d leave the team as is apart from that.
I know this is such a hard pick, but I will do shout out to these players Bono, Alaba, Kim min jae, Greizman, Balde, Oshimen, Halland, Vini, Valverde, koman, and Bernardo. I am Glad Rodri, Salah and Kane is undisputed!

Yeah, shouting Kane after 18 games in a superteam playing farmers whilst still havent achieved anything (yet) is insane. Haaland and Kans are still neck to neck whilst haaland is playing in a much tougher league, and all recent achievements says Haaland is the best. If kane keeps scoring and winning trophies by the end of the season I have no problems with claiming him as the best in the world. Shouting him now, halvway through the season is insane.

Last season he was without a doubt Newcastle's best player. He kept 14 clean sheets with them, had some of the most tackles and interceptions in the league and 110 chances created which was the 2nd most in the enitire league, more than the likes of Kdb and Trent IN A RB POSITION BTW
Right now he stands on six assists in the PL and currently has the most chances created in the PL
He even pockted the likes of Mbappe and is a force to be reckoned with in 1v1s
He's miles clear of any right back right now

It's probably because he doesn't play for a fashionable club. If he was still playing for Atletico putting up the numbers he has, people would be raving about him. Statistically he's well clear of any RB in the top 5 leagues going back to last season. This season he has pocketed Mbappe twice.

Great to see both the SDS boys on the show, not sure I'd add Allison to the debate of Shemicheal and Cech though, they both had that scare factor that they were brick walls and both made the goal look tiny when they spread themselves.
IMO I agree Allison is the best in the world right now but in terms of levels I don't think he's hit the height that De Gea hit in 2017-2018 time. Factor in the defence Allison has in front of him compared to De Gea I do believe De Gea hit a level no keeper yet as reached in the last 10 years. Just my opinion but he was easily Man Utds best player for like 4 years straight, had a shocking defence in front of him and pulled off some insane saves. Well tbh i think his Surpassed Degeas 2017-2018 season he conceded 26 goals , while Allison in 2018-2019 season only conceded 22. He was Also much more Phenominal in the Ucl that season, he was also the ucl Keeper, Prem keeper and Worlds best Keeper that season while also winning the Yachine trophy
I think Alisson does have that fear factor you speak of. Just look at last season and how many players trying to score 1 on 1 against him were absolutely smothered.

Don't forget my point regarding De Gea wad he was a head and shoulders the best United player around that time, Liverpool had a great team from front to back, they won the CL and PL within those 2 years. But Allison wasn't the shining star it was Salah and VVD, those days people were talking about Ederson vs Allison as if they were on par with each other. If you want to just talk stats De Gea had more clean sheets last season than Allison and that's more recent. But the De Gea I'm talking about was making crucial saves nearly every game. Look back at the spurs game and how many saves he made in that game under Ole in 2019.
Edit: De Gea was also included in the PFA team of the year 5 years running. Let's remember I'm taking about legacy overall so far not individual season, I'm saying it's too early for Allison to be regarded as potentially the best the leagues ever seen I used De Gea as an argument to say he hasn't hit a better peak for me than the best De Gea had. If I'm saying De Geas best was 2017-2018 and we all know De Gea was shocking for the last 2-3 years at Utd how can Allison say this is his best years when De Gea has better stats both last season and the season before? De Geas prime was 5-6 years ago, Allison's prime is now and he's not better (for me anyway) it's not a Liverlool vs Utd thing just what I see to be true. @rushpan93 @rushpan93 for me it wasn't the same as what Schmeichel had and wasn't the same as Cech they are the only 2 keepers I've seen that looked like they actually filled every aspect of the goal and where i saw players genuinely scared to get past them. I'm not taking anything away from Allison he's the best keeper in the world (but let's be honest competition isn't in abundance) I'd still stand by what I say regarding De Gea I don't think Allison is better than De Gea 2017-2018. I remember the Spurs game where he made something like 11 saves in a game he was insane. I've not seen anything like that from Allison because he's got a world class defense in front of him and that's credit to Liverpool really

Grimaldo has been this good consistently for years at Benfica, but since he was playing in Portugal nobody gave him the respect he deserved. Its outrageous that he had never capped for Spain until this season, and now out of a sudden he's not only being called in for his national team but he's also being considered for the discussion of the best LB in the world, which is crazy if you think about it. Glad he's finally getting the recognition he already deserved for so long!

Loved the general discussion and atmosphere. But this video just shows the premier league bias of english fans. Walker, Rodri, Van Dijk, Dias & Rice, are easily replaced by players from la liga, Serie A and Bundesliga (maybe even Teams such as PSV, Feyernoord, OgC Nice, Monaco, Benfica) when we talk about current form….
