This is a perfect example of how not to abuse your tools. I have the Laguna 14bx and I’m a real woodworker and would never treat my equipment like that.
Interesting to see that this oversized, unflattened log wasn't too much for the machine. However, no UA-cam video or woodworking project is worth your fingers, back, or other injury. Please take a minute to evaluate the work critically before embarking on such an adventure. One day this is going to bite you (or someone who is encouraged by your crazy choices) back.
If you could help me out i pick this unit 2 days ago same as yours specs for 700$ i thought was a good deal and in great shape barely used but missing the original fence and hope the guy finds it as he just moved lost in transit?, My question i see this per manual says to connect to a 15 amp in 220V. I called laguna and they say 20amp CB is preferred because of initial spike jump on start up then runs at 9.8 amps . I have it ready to wire CB to a 20 amp but thought i should just use the 15amp. I have 12/3 wire in Breaker box ready for the 20 or 15 CB what do you use as a connection ends at the wall and extension to the 14 gauge straight blade on motor .Also if the fence is not found would you by the laguna original or their upscale one 400$ or equivalent if there is one. Also for re-saw the king blade the best bang for this machine. Thanks So Much. Show less
Yeah, above what the saw is listed at...this was testing the limits. There was a small amount of clearance you can’t really see from top of log to blade guide.
In hindsight it probably wasn’t a wise decision haha. You can add on a couple start-ups forgetting to re-tension the blade to the blade abuse list. Surprisingly, I haven’t re-sharpened the blade and it still produces “normal use cuts” squarely and cleanly
Wheres Moe & Larry?? Laguna should use this clip to advertise the Resaw King. If itl stand up to this clowns abuse it should handle most anything a sensible person will use it for.
This is the kind of guy who ends up resawing his face
Haha 😂
I was grinding my teeth the whole time 😂

Always good to see someone who knows what their doing
Ha ha ha!
Wow! Just wow!

I'm thinking a push stick would have helped alot.
Step 1: Before measuring or thinking jam the biggest piece of wood into the $2000 meat mangler...
Thanks for the video, I’ve decided NOT to buy a used bandsaw now.
It doesn’t seem like you thought this through.
Might have not been the best idea in the world…
So many things wrong with this, but your shop, do you.
Like butter. Haha
Isn't that log just a hair too big for the saw?
Yeah, above what the saw is listed at...this was testing the limits. There was a small amount of clearance you can’t really see from top of log to blade guide.
this is what you do not do!
RIP your fingers in the future
Surely you realize thats damn near a $200 blade, your cutting long grain, unstable and walking it all around???
In hindsight it probably wasn’t a wise decision haha. You can add on a couple start-ups forgetting to re-tension the blade to the blade abuse list. Surprisingly, I haven’t re-sharpened the blade and it still produces “normal use cuts” squarely and cleanly
Holy crap, that made me so nervous to watch.
Dude...WTF? You should go back to watching UA-cam video's instead of publishing them.
Paul - Really wish you would have provided this honest feedback a few days earlier....I quit my day job last Friday!
Lol that's right!
