Back in 2007, when I was 8 years old, me and my family were preparing for our March 2008 trip to Disney World. It was my second ever time going (previously visiting in 2003, when I was 3), and my first time being able to ride the "big kid rides" as I said back then. I probably watched this DVD well over a hundred times in the months leading up to that trip. I been lucky enough to visit WDW 4 times in my childhood, last visiting in December 2011. Little did I know back then just how much Disney would change, both for better and worse. Just watching this makes me tear up a little, and I'm not one who ever does that. Hopefully one day Disney can find that magic again. People these days who never visited Disney during its prime truly don't know what they are missing out on.
My Husband and I had a Disneymoon in 2008 and this was the video we got. We still have it. We now have kids and are going as a family in a few weeks. I was excited to get the new DVD because there are several new attractions that aren't in this DVD. The new DVD is ok but doesn't have the "Disney magic" that this one does.
I prefer the longer segments. This specific one still makes me teary eyed. The shorter segments do provide information but aren't as enjoyable to watch. I want entertainment and information. When I want to get excited about an upcoming Disney trip it isn't the new planning DVDs I watch, it's this one. This one encompasses "magical" in a way the new ones don't come close to doing.
Thanks for the kind comments on my video here and on your page. I'm glad you enjoyed it! We also honeymooned at WDW, but in 1998. Enjoy you're upcoming trip!! We took our daughter for the first time when she was 4 - the afternoon breaks we took made so much difference in everyone's enjoyment of the parks - we still take them when we go.
@JeffFrmJoisey I`ll tell you what, that may not have happened during The Year of A Million Dreams, but those were still magical moments. So, Different Times, Different Experiences. This is part of what makes Walt Disney World so special to us. What a story. - Dwight
Hello JeffFrmJoisey !, I have been looking for this video of the 2007 Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD because I was at Walt Disney World to Celebrate My 30th Birthday in 2008, and I lucked in ROYALLY with The Year of A Million Dreams 2008. I was looking for this video so that I could make a video of My Vacation at Walt Disney World. THANK YOU for Your courage in posting this video. I appreciate it VERY MUCH !! - Dwight
@djthereplay Hi Dwight! I'm so glad you enjoyed my video and how it triggers wonderful memories for you! I will eventually post the entire DVD sometime in the future, the next segment will be posted. If you've been to Walt Disney World any other years, please take a look at my page - it's got many different years of the vacation planning vids/DVDs and some live stuff I've shot on different trips I've made there. I celebrated my 50th at WDW, no prizes, but it was an amazing trip!
@JeffFrmJoisey Well, there you have it, You were at Walt Disney World during the last month of The Disney Theme Park 50th Anniversary - The Happiest Celebration On Earth that came with Disneyland's 50th Anniversary - The Happiest Homecoming On Earth in September 2006. Connections, Connections, Connections. - Dwight
@JeffFrmJoisey at Grand Floridian, my 7 yr old daughter was chosen to open the restaurant w/Cinderella and Prince Charming - she was announced as a Princess and they escorted her to our table - the 1st one in the restaurant. When we went to Chef Mickey's on a different day, the greeter saw my Birthday Cake hat, pulled me aside, handed me the phone and Goofy & Mickey were on the line - on the way out, another cast member stopped me and gave me a Happy Birthday button!
@djthereplay Hi Dwight - I watched your vids last night - they were great. I guess I should have mentioned I celebrated my 50th in Sept 2006. I didn't get a chance to make it there in 2007 or 2008 :(. A number of magical things did happen in 2006 - when I called to confirm my character meal reservations, the DIsney operator recognized my phone exchange and turns out he originally was from the next town over from me originally - when we got to CInderella's Gala Feast (see next post)
@JeffFrmJoisey Cont`d from My Last Post ... Secondly, I made a number of the ladies and princesses ( as many as I could while my house was like " Playboy Mansion " Crowded ) Paper Tiaras, and took them with me and presented them to the ladies and princesses. One of them was Pocahontas at Disney's Animal Kingdom and The Hostess rewarded me A Tinkerbell Pixie Dust Cloud Award Pin. Here's the thing, It was just one pin and it was just for me. - Dwight
I remember when I was very little my parents got me a DVD player and I would rewatch this over and over every day. So nostalgic 😢
Who would’ve known how nostalgic this amazing dvd would be. I actually teared up quite a bit
This is my favorite out of all the planning DVDs they had throughout the years. ❤

It's time to make your dreams a reality :) If I can help let me know.
Too PC and hokey for my taste. But I love the history of Disney parks.
Great Escape=biggest mistake in company history.
