I’m going to say something and say it once - initial commenter is right. However, he is looking at the hand in the vacuum aka how this hand played out and only how this one hand played out. We all know that in order to achieve max value over the long term you are going to lose a few and get sucked out on a few times. I would suggest for everyone to consider variance and maybe a combo of both ways to play the hand would be ideal. It is possible Lex plays it the way you suggested most of the time…
Lex out here playing 2008 poker and I’m here for it. Bro play how you want, you don’t have to justify anything to us, it seems more like you’re trying to justify your play to yourself 😂
Hey I always enjoy the videos man and you putting on display the highs and lows of poker life. Appreciate the content and being able to watch. Hope to catch you at the tables one day.
Aces hand. For what it’s worth I’m just a lowkey 1/3 reg…but I think the flaw in this hand was in the turn. Think he convinced himself on the turn from the live read. The river didn’t matter, lex convinced himself that he was behind. The rest of the hand didn’t matter. He inevitably checks the river…opening the door for the big bluff. I really try to avoid live reads, they can fuck you up in the head while playing. Just call…if the villain has pocket 5’s/9’s/34suited…it just sucks and you move on to the next buy in. Great vlog
Definitely. The only hands he could have is 5 5, or 3 3 (very unlikley) that would have played that way. Other than that, Lex is beating pretty much everything.

Not necessarily an incorrect fold. You having the A of clubs is significant. Think I’d call there without A of clubs, fold with it if I had the read you felt you saw.
It’s funny when I’m driving home after a poker night I go over my play in my mind, and most of the time my win or loss for the night comes down to 1-2 hands. This seems to be the same for you.

Player dependent but against a player like Steve, I'd probably opt to check raise the turn with the aces and if it gets checked back, check/bet call all sizes on river
There’s no doubt you should have called, I’m gonna give a line that I constantly use, “why so much “ , when ne bets an over the pot bet , he obviously doesn’t want you to call. Blinds at 5/10/25, with a blind raise to 50.. then two players flat the 50, you look down at AA and raise to 300?!? Come on, you don’t know proper pre-flop raise sizing at this point of your poker career? You HAVE to bump it up to at least 400 with your range here.
Easy for people to say "call" knowing the result. I think it was a positive EV fold in the long run. He's an "action player" but look at the last time he showed aggression, he had a set. Unless you've seen a huge number of hands like this where he calls w/ air or just backdoors, he's gonna have it most of the time there
There’s just not that many combos that beat him though pocket 5 and pocket 9s maybe 34s but that’s it. There’s way more bluff combos only time I’m folding is against an OMC there.
