Escapism is why in my opinion , many love the romance journey in books and Harlequin for Over 70years hasset the precedent .. exploring the history including the authors , offers surprises. Some main stream romance writers began with Harlequin the Before romance in main stream as it has come to 👌🏾🌷🙍🏽💕🦹🏾♂️
An Unsuitable Duchess sounds incredible!! Harlequin cowboy romance for some reason are the ones I want to read 😂 I've always been meaning to read harlequins for a while! Loved this video!
Hey there, I watched a peacelovebooks video recently and she mentioned that the harlequin website has sales every Friday. So if you were looking to get a book from every line, that could be a great way to do it without paying full price. Also, I didn’t realise that there were different in prints so that’s cool to learn
I might've squealed when you put Karen Robards at the bottom of the screen because yessss her romantic suspense books are SO good! As are her older historicals! She's one of my all-time faves.
Great video! If you like small town romance than you will love the Special Edition and Super Romance (two of my personal favorite lines). Also, back in the day Jill Shalvis wrote for the Blaze line. I believe most of the books she wrote for them you can now find on eBook! :)
I actually just talked about Jill’s Blaze series with a friend. She’s my favorite author! I’ll have to nab more Special Editions and Super romance because I love small town romances - thanks for the tip!
I've always read Harlequin novels on and off. I have no idea how I ever got to know them, I think I introduced them to my mom and not the other way... anyway, thanks for the video, it's so nice to know other people read them too even if nobody talks about it 😁
Know this is late, but wanted to share. Kimani was originally published by BET and called Arabesque. Harlequin bought the line and changed the name to Kimani.
I read my first Blaze books last year, loved them. They were Christmas (of course) and so good! One was by Tiffany Reisz and the other authors name I’m blanking on🤔🙃
I've never read any Harlequin books, because I only very recently got into reading romance at all. For me, the main aversion I had is that I'm not interested in the steamy stuff and I thought the whole genre would have too much of that for me. But I've found that plenty of them don't, and even some that do have a lot of those scenes, it's easy to just skim past them. But I always assumed Harlequin books would be strictly the "bodice-ripper Fabio-covered supermarket" type, so I'm so glad you made this video and showed me how much variety they have! Definitely going to check some of the more, um, PG categories out :) I totally agree with you about the......ickiness of putting books with Black characters in their own category. It feels very othering when they probably think it's the opposite.
Just found out about this popular big series I really enjoyed the video all of the genres sound really good and interesting it just makes me want to get into reading them never knew they had so many categories for these books they all sound really good in my opinion how long has this series been going on?
@@IntentionallyBookish yep Silhouette and Harlequinn, back in the 80's (maybe 70's since I read them in the early 80's lol) I'll have to go through my storage and see if I kept any. They were a great start to reading the adult ones.
Hi can u help me find an old harlequin book? Its maybe 1950 -1975.. On cover heroine infront and hero far behind. Dnt remember title. But all i remember is Heroine supposed to be engaged or with the hero cousin.. But they are attracted to each other...and they have insta lust or attraction.hero hate her for this attraction even tough he cant stop touching her. I remember thr is a family picnic just one glance at the hero ..heroine meet him behing a ruins where they kiss or so something.. Anyone who read this message and know which book this is ?
Harlequin Category romances have always been my jam .... because of their short lengths and plotlines. =0)
That's why I love them :)
Yes! The lengths are perfect!
Yes! The lengths are perfect!
YOU KNOW I'M ALWAYS HERE FOR HARLEQUIN BOOK HAULS!!!!!!
Woooo! Though my haul is measly compared to the KWEEN of hauls (that’s you, btw 😂)
This video is 2 years old now and I am definitely liking the more diverse characters Harlequin is putting into all their lines now.
Yes! We love to see it 👏🏽
Fascinating - I read the Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense lines but did not know about the Heartwarming line - will have to check those out

I’m so happy I just found your channel. Love your enthusiasm and bubbliness 😄
Thank you so much, Michelle! Glad to have you here!
You mention criminology and my mind immediately thinks of Criminal Minds, which I'm so here for. Definitely need to read it.
Right?! That’s exactly why I picked it 😂

Totally went to my Overdrive library to look for the Paula Graves book, which they have! *adds to list*
Yay!! Score!
I loved these! Thank you for sharing because I’ve always been fascinated with Harlequins and I’m hyped to start reading more from them! 😍
They’re the perfect length and something for all types of romance readers!
I just purchased my first two Harlequin books from Goodwill today and I’m excited to read them. I’m trying to broaden my horizons 🤗❤️♦️
Have fun!

Loved your book hauls! Your passion for books = so refreshing! I am also a romance novel hauler!!! =) happy reading
Thanks so much!
Wow. I didn't know that there are so many categories in romance. It sounds like there is something for everyone.
There really is!

I don't read much romance and it's very interesting to hear all of the vocabulary involved in the genre.
Haha yes!
I love Harlequin romances! :-)
Me & you both! 😉
I have read these for years. Lovely escapist romance.
You’re absolutely right!
I really need to try reading more of these. ♥️🌿
If you do, I bet your used bookstores have them cheap!

Ooh I didn’t realize Tiffany Reisz wrote a Blaze! Totally makes sense given her darker romances today!
I haven't read these before, but I'm interested in the Intrigue line!
Worth checking out if you’re into romantic suspense!
Ah! Between you and Sarah spotlighting these books I’m having major FOMO! I think I need to read some category romances!
Do ittt! Good news is that they’re really cheap so it’s a good gamble 🤗
Intentionally Bookish and short!
@@AlwaysBooked EXACTLY!
In all my 50 years I’ve never read a Harlequin. I’m guessing I will start now
It’s never too late! If you enjoy romance I bet there’s one out there you may like 😉
Girl u don't know what you're missing
Your dog is so cute :) I have read some Harlequin not much, want to read more. I actually have a harlequin on my tbr for september.

You can find them on used book sites like thriftbooks or ebay! also directly from the harlequin publisher website!
