‪Yours Truly, Pointe-à-Callières Museum | A multimedia journey through time

In 2010, Moment Factory partnered with GSMprjct and Sid Lee to bring one of Montreal’s most cherished historical exhibitions into a new era. Yours Truly, Montreal is one of Pointe-à-Callière museum’s star attractions, a multimedia show that takes viewers on a historical journey unlike any they have ever seen.
This show was a terrific opportunity to bring out our love of working with found spaces: incorporating the character already present as part of the set design and working that architectural presence into the overall feel of the show. In this case, we had both the opportunity and challenge to project directly on to the ruins - authentic witnesses of the city’s history. To embellish the impressive ruins without upstaging them, we added a series of screens that wrap 270 degrees around viewers. Our approach to the content integrated graphic, light, and sound treatment. Under an artistic direction that prioritizes historical realism, the images and documents featured in the show were showcased with respect to their authenticity. The Moment Factory team worked with a delicate graphic touch to bring a new vibrant look and aesthetic cohesion to the project.
In addition to the 18-minute show that will run for 10 years, the project included the remodeling of an event space, the museum’s website, and the production of a book on the show. Yours truly, Montreal offers a fascinating immersive experience where projection technology and artistry sends viewers to the heart of historical action in Montreal. By wrapping viewers in a dynamic storytelling scenario that features real historical artifacts and documents, the viewer relives great moments that shaped the city.

En 2010, Moment Factory a travaillé en partenariat avec GSMprjct et Sid Lee pour que l’une des expositions historiques les plus appréciées de Montréal passe dans une nouvelle ère. Signé Montréal, un spectacle multimédia qui propose un voyage dans le temps aux spectateurs comme ils n’en ont jamais fait, est l’une des attractions vedettes du Musée Pointe-à-Callière.
Ce spectacle était une occasion parfaite d'exposer notre passion pour la création et le travail dans des espaces déjà existants: intégrer et adapter une présence architecturale à l’atmosphère générale du spectacle. Dans ce cas-ci, notre défi, qui se révélait aussi notre chance, était de projeter les animations directement sur les ruines, témoins véritables de l’histoire de la ville. Pour magnifier les vestiges imposants sans les éclipser, nous avons aménagé une série d’écrans de 270 degrés autour des visiteurs. L’approche privilégiée pour le contenu intégrait des images, de l’éclairage et du son. Suivant une direction artistique qui valorise le réalisme historique, les images et les documents ont été présentés dans un souci de respecter leur authenticité. L’équipe de Moment Factory a ajouté une touche visuelle subtile au projet afin de produire un effet vibrant et d'assurer une cohésion esthétique.
En plus du spectacle de 18 minutes qui serait présenté pendant 10 ans, le mandat prévoyait la rénovation d’un espace événementiel, la création du site Web du musée et la production d’un livre sur le spectacle. Signé Montréal offre une expérience immersive des plus fascinantes où les techniques artistiques de projection transportent le public en plein cœur des événements du passé de Montréal. En plongeant l’assistance dans une trame narrative dynamique qui montre d’authentiques artefacts et documents historiques, le spectateur peut revivre les grands moments qui ont façonné la ville.
