I get them a lot too and ignore most of them , agree with your points
I get so many emails from websites wanting to do a gifted collab with body sculpting devices and things like that, it's crazy..

I think for me the thing is that at least in the USA, products can be considered gifts. Therefore, they can be taxed. So you pay to accept the "free gift" that you also need to put work into. That's not payment.
Also, side note: revel means to take great joy in something. Usually in a lively/noisy way.
I’ve always kind of wondered how content creators get pr I mean I’m working on my channel myself and I know there are ways of doing it but my main problem is just being consistent with uploading but I also didn’t know you had to try to get on affiliate lists or that brands can just reach out
I am a crafter and used to make a lot of craft projects and I would so promotion for products but this was my hobby not my job and that’s why I was happy to do it for some companies mostly smaller ones that I had a good relationship with, they would send me a box of products and ask that I make 2 videos per month and photograph for Pinterest and insta/Facebook for each project. But I underline this was my hobby my main “job” was a stay at home mum so only done videos etc when they were in bed or at school x I think it’s nice to recognise smaller brands when they send you pr to give back something wither that is a video dedicated to that brand’s product or a grwm and using different products and incorporating that into the video.
As it then gives you a boost especially at new launches when their is a buzz around it and people are searching yt for videos of that product so you are then attracting subscribers who love the brand and find your channel through it, you get revenue through your channel, and finally you get to keep the product x
However I do also think that is not for someone who wasn’t influencing to be a full time job x then they deserve to be paid x
So it’s a bit of a balancing act is it a hobby that you enjoy new make up and playing with it or are you wanting to put food on the table through your work online?
I get the “your job that counts” all the time as a barista it’s so frustrating

I got an email yesterday from a brand saying they’d watched my videos and they loved my content and my vibe, they wanted to send me some shoes 100% Argentinian leather… CLEARLY never watched a single second of my content, vegan and cruelty free but sure I’ll promote your leather shoes?! 😂😂 (also just to be clear, I don’t give a single hoohaa if anyone else wears leather or eats meat, just my choice 😇)

Cruelty free = Leather shoes
ED = Slimming products
But they absolutely love our content don't forget 😂😂😂
The problem with product being payment is that the product will not generate revenue in future videos.
I think there is another side to look on. If you are a small influencer you probably don't have the money to spend on a lot of releases so these deals could be a possibility to reach new viewers and promote your channel to a wider audiance with new and relevant products. I think you have to look at the pros and cons and think about what is right for you 😊
