Brown eyed girls went against all odds at the time, they debut in 2006 with a song were the members werent shown in the video at all, but that concept quickly changed. Come closer being one of the best debut ballads. Also there only competition at that time was the grace csjh (another vocal group that is amazing - sm entertainment) baby vox reve ( another vocal group from that time - DR music) and big mama (one of the best vocalist in kpop ever - YG entertainment). But somehow brown eyes girls not only did they out last every single group they became pioneers of the sexy concept and the girl crush concept during the early and mid 2nd gen golden age of kpop. Every single member from brown eyed girls has released amazing solo music and have not only ventured into other careers outside of idol group including hosting, variety shows and radio shows and have found alot of success in there chosen fields, enough to sustain there life styles. There the longest running girl group without a member change, theyve also been very open about there plastic surgerys being one of the first groups to admit to having changed there faces multiple times. They also are known to be very LGBTQ inclusive in there music and music videos even way back in 2009 as you can see from abracadabra. Brown eyed girls reminds me very much of the path that mamamoo is going down now, even back then in 2009 when this song was released and the video was banned it still became one of the most popular songs from that year. Anyways all in all brown eyed girls is a staple group that has achived longevity in an industry that changes so rapidly. Happy 18th debut anniversary brown eyed girls.
Big Mama is still around. They have a Killing Voice video and made a comeback. They have all been busy with family. They never actually disbanded so it's not like 'Brown Eyed Girls out-lasted Big Mama'. When was the last time BEG did anything?
@@jamescurfman3284uhh I remember in 2012 when big mama disband. They definitely moved out of YG but they did disband for a period of time. I understand that they were of doing there thing with there family but they had never planned to comeback until there 2021 comeback was announced don't get me wrong they are amazing and I love there music and those vocals on the group haven't been matched but in terms of longevity and popularity Brown eyed girls out paced all there peers that debut around 2003 -2006. Brown eyed girls have never officially disbanded they have moved companies multiple times throughout there 18 year career and have been on hiatus since Gains scandal, but they have definitely been seen together and have posted photos each year for there anniversaries, so I guess we can say this year was the last time BEG did something together.
One of my favorite kpop moments is watching the G-Idle version, then dreamcatcher, then absolutely getting wrecked watching the original video. In the top kpop songs all time.
There's news that (G)I-DLE version of Abracadabra will be release in streaming music platform in March or something. But you can also watched their cover performance in their YT channel. I can say that (G)I-DLE was sooooo muuuchh better that OG

Abracadabra choreography is Kpop classic and the song too in Kpop history.

Gidle did the Abracadabra cover twice, once live performance but the audio is very bad, and a short cover on Lee Hyori Red Carpet shoe
Dude you have to see the gidle version as well
There's also an Everglow cover.
