I prefer Touch ID
Have you tried Face ID? Honestly after getting the X and using the S9+ sometime I never wanna go back to Touch ID lol, it’s so much more convenient
Doran_jetsetter me too
I’ve had the x for a while and I’m hating the face rec. the Touch ID is flawless
Do u also prefer floppy disks
Then you don't have an iPhone X with a secure Face ID.
8 plus is my first iphone ever so I decided to take one in the classic design! What I can say that I'm not going back to Android! Cause I'm completely mesmerized by this magic of Apple!
Dima Lesnoy the 8 isn’t a classic design imo. The 4-4s-5-5s-SE is the true classic
OkayGift MC yeah but it’s the longest lasting
The design is classic, the size is different.
Dima Lesnoy ikr i just bought my iPhone 8 Plus last 4 days ago i have the gold one and let me tell you this it is absolutely amazing I love it this my first iPhone 📱
My first iPhone was the SE I'm still using. I helped my mom get her first smartphone over Xmas which ended up being an Android (she was being cheap) and I have no desire to return to that platform.. much more annoying than I remember.. ex.. editing notifications takes like 3x as many clicks as it does on iOS. Many other things are retardedly overcomplicated as well. Sure it can do a few more things but Android just isn't designed as well
The iPhone X is overhyped, the 8 plus still has Touch ID and a home button, I prefer everything to be like pressing the home button rather then have to fight with a phone that only depends on gestures.
Broke boi
Kevin Flores thats so stupid. The gesture on the iPhone X couldn’t be anymore easier no need to “fight”
Previously owned iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 plus, then 7 plus. Upgraded to iPhone X. (Influenced by hype & reviews. My bad.) After three months, sold on eBay and replaced with iPhone 8 plus. Have to say straight up and in defence of iPhone X, it's not a bad phone. The physical size is great. The screen is amazing and FaceID (overall) was pretty reliable. So, why exchange? Well, I got sick of zooming videos to fullscreen and then find them cropped when viewing. Also, if upgrading from a wider phone, no matter how good the phone is, you will notice the thinner profile and smaller text. As a sports/bike rider, FaceID is a pain in the backside. Viewing wise, even after changing the 'font' settings, it didn't provide the same experience as my iPhone 7 plus. Additionally, IOS 10 & 11 seem better utilised to the iPhone 7 & 8. The menu on the iPhone X seems like an afterthought. I got used to it but still - didn't seem right. Anyhow, I've learned that mobiles are personal preference. The iPhone X is a great phone. It just wasn't for me. If I was coming from an iPhone 7 - maybe. If the iPhone X Plus rumours are true, I hope it's amazing....
Carl Naessens Which phone do you have today?
I dropped and chipped the screen of my 7 Plus earlier this week (4/23/18). There was also a hairline crack in it too that I didn't notice at first. I considered, prior to the break, getting the 8 Plus, but decided to wait until the new phones arrive later this year. After the drop Monday, I went and got a X. I'm surprised at how much I really like the phone! I really appreciate the gestures, the camera, and believe it or not, the notch. As you said, there's less clutter at the top of the screen as a result of the notch. Also, I picked up my old phone to do something the other night - the screen is just so dull in comparison to the OLED on the new iPhone. Now I wish I had gotten the thing when it came out!
7 plus but it’s so big, just got it and I love it
Alexander Goodwin I’m getting my 7 plus next Christmas can’t wait jetblack
I totally understand your point on switching from iPhone to Android...I own a 7+ and a galaxy s8+... I find my self using the Galaxy more vs. the iPhone.
Trust me, 8 plus is a dragon. The better iPhone, actually the best. I love it.
I chose the 8+ cause I wasn’t ready to lose the home button but still got the great dual lenses on the back of the phone and wireless charging. I’ve had a plus model since they came out and I definitely prefer the size too.
I really like the white/silver they have out this time around too
I had originally preordered an iPhone ten but cancelled that order and got the eight plus. I wanted the lager view screen and I like using touch id. I don’t regret that decision. I larger iPhone ten sounds like a great idea, but I won’t be in the market for a new iphone soon.
Funny you talk about burn in. Today I went to an Apple store to service an iPhone 7. Next to me at the Genius Bar was an elder man asking about green lines his iPhone X. Apple employee says, “oh not another 1. I know the problem, but still have to run a few tests.”
As an old iPhone SE user, i really felt the phone was too small. The SE was small, but still fast. I just wanted a bigger phone, so i skipped the iPhone 6s and 7 and got the 8 Plus in Space Grey (LITERALLY 2 DAYS BEFORE THE RED ONE CAME OUT) and I still f@cking love this phone. I never had portrait mode on any of my phones, so i was super addicted to that. Also to answer your question on why I didn’t switch to the iPhone X. I wasn’t ready for the big step, because i feel like Touch-iD is still a bit more trustworthy then Face-iD. Obviously it was more expensive and better, but my home button is still the best for me.
I have psoriasis too, and it's always a game of "which finger has a clean print today". There's always at least one finger that works, so it's not a big problem, but you made a good point that I somehow hadn't considered about Face ID.
I have a V30 and prefer a 16:9 screen. OLED Mania .. burn-in isn't a problem especially on an iPhone.
I can't live without TOUCH ID 😭😭😭
I love my 8plus! It is possibly the last iPhone to have touch ID and probably LCD. And when time comes to switch, the iPhone X predecessors would be more mature in terms of tech by then.
iMark
Good idea!
I was upgrading form the iPhone 6 and had decided I wanted a Plus model next go round. I considered the 7 but after researching the 8 I went with the 8 Plus 256K. Way more than I need but never ever have to worry about it. I don't mind Touch ID at all or the top & bottom bezels. I like the weight of the phone and the excellent battery life. Eventually I'll upgrade again and will very likely be getting the plus model of that new phone.
Apple should make a phone with a notch on top and bottom, bottom one for Touch ID and top for other sensors. It would look strange but uniform, would give more screen real estate while keeping the fingerprint sensor people love
I actually like a home button. Torn between waiting for a 9... or getting 8 or 8 +. 8+ seems to have everything I want but it's physical size is big/heavy. I never had a plus size phone.
can you make a video about the things you can do on iphone and you cant on android ? you can also mention the things you wish you are able to do on iphone
he can't because andriod can do everything an iphone can do plus more
lukeceravolo, ok. How to disable ONLY notification banners, but preserve notification sounds and notifications on locked screen?
Nemo_Nobody, you nailed it! lol😂
Nemo_Nobody Nova launcher a free app it's in the notification settings
lukeceravolo ok. How to disable notification banners only for one app?
I’ve had the iPhone X since launch and i came from a 7 plus and I haven’t really missed my 7 plus screen size and if I for some reason had to downgrade my phone I would go with a regular iPhone 8 I’ve really enjoyed the smaller form factor of the X
i was a an Android user, i switched to iOS now i bought iphone 8 plus, Iphone 8 plus stunning photos and Battery back up is fantastic.
Watching on a 7 plus and even though I do Prefer iPhone I realize I don’t need the most up to date model just having the larger phone(upgraded from a used 6s) and having 128 gb of storage made me very happy
I had an iPhone 6 for a good 2 years and it started to slow down over time and it would be really slow when opening apps up. I got the iPhone 8+ about 2 weeks ago and this phone is amazing the battery life is good and it runs so smooth compared to my other iPhone I also like a home button that’s why I didn’t get an iPhone X
I have the 8 atm. Kinda regret not getting the plus. Amazing phone, better camera than my 6-8 androids I had before, including the huawei p20 pro.
6:10 The same happens when someone changes from Android to iPhone: they can't do many things they are used to do.
You make fun that you could at least order your icons.
What's happening is that what you (or anyone) can do on your phone is what you want and what you can't do you give it less importance.
To me, for example, it is very important to have a consistent way and place to go back, it typically comes in the form of the back button. And it is also important that my main screen actually shows my selected background. So, if I can't do that in an iPhone, I am not comfortable. And (continuing with the example) if I don't have a special button to mute the phone and instead "have" to go to notification bar to mute, it doesn't bother me.
I found very convenient to have a notification light that tells me if I have a message or a missed phone call. It bothers me if I don't have it. But for you (maybe just because Apple haven't copied it yet) it is not important. In the past, it was the same: (some) iPhone users said "I don't need or like a big, OLED, bezel-less screen on a waterproof phone. Why would I like it?"
Just until iPhone got these features, they *now* like them and need them, with the self-excuse that now it is well done by Apple (including size, bezel-less, and water-proof, and wire-less and fast charging).
For all the ones who prefer the size of the 8 Plus, let me remind you that men's pant styles are getting skinnier & skinner nowadays, which results to have to tuck the big a#$ phone in their back pockets. Walking around like ya got extra a#$ cushion back there. Nah... I'll pass!
Oled burn in is more frequent than imagined. I still like it more, but the notch on the iphone 10 is a big nono for me
I have used the Apple platform since the 3G. I am on the 6s now, but my contract expires in July and am switching to the Samsung Galaxy S9. Apple dead ended with the 7 and iOS 11.The iPhone X was DOA.
I’m watching this on my red 8 plus, and I like it because it is physically bigger than the iPhone X. Also, I did not want to pay $1000 for a phone. What really drew me into the 8 plus was the red color, as it looks really nice and is my favorite color. Everything is also virtually the same on the 8 plus spec wise minus the screen.
I have always been a iPhone + fan. I did not upgrade to the 10, I stuck with the 8+, because of the size of the phone. I like big phones, and the iPhone 10 is just too small for me. It's too close to the 8 vs the 8+. I will DEFINITELY upgrade to the new 6.5 inch 10, that is the phone of my dreams!
Accidentally left my iPhone 7 on all night and it was running youtube, no burn in. Only bad part is it was extremely hot when I woke up and it was almost dead so I had to goto school with an empty battery😂
What the fudge does psoriasis have to do with not being able use a finger print sensor? I have psoriasis, it in NO WAY affects your finger prints unless you get break outs there, which is practically unheard of.
What are you talking about??
I only got a iPhone 8 Plus because I never had a plus phone before the phone I had prior was a 6. Surprisingly I am a fan of a plus iPhone now but I feel more interested in a 2019 iPhone plus opposed to a 2018 version. Because I want to wait on more features to come with it and maybe a price cut 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
The bigger display is a value to me. U also have a slight different experience with the pane view option in a lot of apps.
I bought my iPhone X brand new for $760 4 months ago... you guys realize there’s other ways of buy them right?
I've heard about a few people doing this... Some have regretted ever purchasing the X... They feel they are gaining in functionality and durability with the 8/8+...
What I dislike about zooming in is you lose stuff all along the edges.
I can’t see myself using either the 8 Plus or the X. I have the 6s and smart battery case, and am thinking of changing my case out for the iPhone 7 version.
I like have a bigger phone and I was worried that Face ID wouldn’t work as well as Touch ID but I think it probably does, hopefully they have a bigger iPhone just like the X in September
I upgraded from a 6 to an 8 Plus and I have hardly any regrets about choosing the 8 Plus over the X. I’m not a fan of buying first iteration technology (Face ID seemed/seems like it’s a little inconsistent and I LOVE Touch ID) and though I liked the bezel-less display of the X, I liked the size and form factor of the 8 Plus better. It’s a tried and true design, plus the gold color is absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention it’s price tag is much more attractive. I still don’t think the X is worth $1000.
Had the 7plus before my X. I want a bigger form factor of the X next. Glad that is whats coming.
Not gonna lie, I bought the ipx and couldn't stand it, so I went back to my s8 and refunded the iPhone, I do use Windows thou so I can do stuff with Samsung flow I couldn't with my iPhone unless I used osx.
gregstus S8? How disgusting 😂
Lol whats the point of this comment?
Jonatan Søgaard what are you using? A banana? The s8 is an amazing phone lol
Jonatan Søgaard if you call the s8 disgusting,it means that your head is just for looks.no matter how much bloatware or heavy software skins the s8 has,it’s definitely NOT disgusting, especially when it comes to hardware
That’s surprising, I find the X amazing.
I'll stick with my ten. I pull my 8+ out a few months ago and man does it feel ancient. Still a good phone tho, A11 rocks.
I'll feel limited...an android can't do all the things my iphone can ? This is a joke, right ?
Pros with the iPhone X:
Face ID that doesn’t suck
Beautiful display
Really good camera
Battery lasts for a long amount of time
Premium feel
Sturdy build
Wireless charging
Animojis (probably the best use of the X facial recognition software haha)
Cons of iPhone X:
Lack of a home button and because of that, no Touch ID
OLED burn threats
It’s entirely glass (drop it and everything shatters!)
Hideously expensive
Some compatibility problems with apps
Pros with the iPhone 8:
Home button
Wireless charging
Good camera
Reasonably priced
Cons with the iPhone 8:
Still has notches
No Face ID
Not as fast as the X
Biggest difference from the iPhone 7 is wireless charging and a more powerful processor.
Honestly, if you have the money, get an iPhone X. iPhone 8 is not bad by any means, but iPhone X is far better.
how much slimmer is the 8 Plus vs iPhone X when playing videos fullscreen?
I personally love the iphone 8 plus I went back to my Iphone 8 plus after purchasing the iphone x. I just couldn't adjust the the x & preferred the 8plus with the larger screen & the button on the bottom it wall makes more sense to me.
I switched iphone 8 plus to Iphone X and i enjoy it.... and i love the design of iphone x
3:43 Your sensor must be faulty, it’s not like that
I have to re-register mine quite often on 8 plus and Galaxy S9 because my hands are so dry.
idk oh
Using iPhone 8 plus now meantime I wait for the Pixel 3 to come out. Actually been enjoying the phone only thing is the notification system is sloppy and can't download APK apps. That's one thing i need to have that iPhones can't do for me.
Just face it. iPhone 8 Plus is better than iPhone X. It doesn’t have the ugly notch, Touch ID works way better than the Face ID, and no burn Ins. iPhone 8 Plus wins
Zachary Wright the X has better color vibrancy, stainless steel, better cameras, ois on both, a larger aspect ratio and larger screen (not really but the aspect ratio is much larger) oled is far superior to lcd, faceid is great, you dont think about it
Now... the 8+ is cheaper, and still great. Same chip inside. So, yeah. 8plus wins, but it comes down to preference
I like the notch, and I couldn’t care less if I had to use Face ID or Touch ID tbh
True. The aspect ratio on the iPhone X makes it an elongated smaller iPhone 8, not a shrunken iPhone 8 Plus, which has the largest display surface area of all the phones so most content is bigger on the iPhone Plus display and it’s easier to type on it. It has no notch to interfere with your experience and unlike the X, it has landscape mode.
If you compare both models on apples website, you’ll find the only difference in the X and the 8 plus is the screen and facial recognition, everything else spec wise is the exact same
Doesn’t the 8plus perform better than the x in terms of cameras as the 8 plus has the flash away from the camera bump
I'm due fro an upgrade this year and I'm getting the iPhone 8 Plus. The regular X costs too much still and the Xs/ Xr are overpriced and don't justify the extra costs. Plus it would drive me crazy not having a home button.
Interesting video, happy user of a year-old 7 plus here. Watching on my iMac though ;) I was wondering about the issues a few have reported with eyestrain on the X? What is your experience with that? Never had an Andrid so wouldn't know though from seeing the Galaxy line in shops found the colour oversaturated for my taste.
i have a silver 8 plus xd
i got it cause its cheaper and i like the look of it. and loving the fast touch id sensor
SNIPEKNIFE x so am I!! Best iPhone ever made
Batman :3
I’ve got silver 7 plus here haha silver just looks clean and pure
Lewis yeh but the 8 plus is basically white only the bumpers are silvee
Would you recommend buying X from 8 plus?
OLED is far superior to LCD. It delivers a much higher contrast ratio (1,000,000:1 vs 1,400:1) i am happy to switch from iPhone 8 to iPhone x,, like all the old iPhones it was very difficult to actually read and take pictures in sunny Conditions literally missing all the good outdoors shots .
Yeah, you can arrange your app icons, but, surprisingly, you can't disable these bloody notification banners, which take almost a third part of whole screen.
IF their always going to bring out 3 different iPhone models each year - the full on touch screens should be small and big
BUT they should bring out one design every year with the home button .. the size should be between the 8 and 8 plus. Like a medium sized phone.
But to force people to eventually upgrade to all screen phones isn’t really good
@2:25 why not just optimize it for the screen? So annoying have to crop half the video. Do you think they will add. Update to fix that?
I love my iPhone X. I don’t miss my iPhone 7plus. I like your shirt btw.. are you selling one of them too?
Did you purposely colour coordinate your 8 plus and watch band?
I got a 6s in January only because it was offered to me for free from my carrier. Here in Canada to buy the entry level Iphone X it's about $1300. I went with the 6s just because it was free and I'd rather wait until the X comes down in price after the launch of the 2018 Iphones. Should upgrade to a 7 or 8 when they drop in price again, or go for the jump to the X?
Yo I had the same thing but on my wireless charger it slips off alot by less than an inch and it stops charging but when my phone fell it broke the screen protector on the second day
When it comes down to burn in, I presume, Apple will change to another technique, as soon as it’s available in a sufficient quantity and quality. This will be Micro-LED. That being said: it’s nowhere near completely developed, so it’s save to say, the OLED will stay Apple’s display choice for another 2-5 years.
One thing I like about the iPhone 8 Plus over the iPhone X the duel camera layout is looks better on the 8 plus if anyone agrees?
Bought a 7 plus because it’s still got portrait mode, super fast compared to even the newest Samsung’s, and was only 400 dollars and not a 1000 dollar phone I can’t afford.
And now that it’s late 2018 and more content is ultra wide, there goes that 16:9 screen to shit
I have an iPhone X and I want to switch to an 8 plus or even back to a 7 plus. I just really don’t like this phone as much as I thought I would an even with the Face ID that I do enjoy I’d rather have the bigger ‘classic’ iPhone back
got iPhone x and I still regret why I didn't choose iphone 8+
I use and have both iOS and Android. I have both flagship phones from each, the iPhone X and Samsung S9+ there is nothing the X can do that the S9+ can't do. I would actually say my S9+ is capable of doing more things I wish the damn iPhone X was able to do.
I’m really curious, do u use a case on your iPhone🤔. I have a product red iPhone 8 and I love the color but I haven’t used my phone naked since I had the iPhone 7. I usually use my phones naked but with the 8 and X I’ve been using a case (which is weird)
So lucky tailosive i wish i had a tech channel so i had an iphone x atleast and buy the new ones instantly ik its your job for content but dang lucky and nice vid btw
Thanks for not putting a 4 sec pause between each word as if you're talking to a classroom of Canadian 2nd graders.
Galaxy S5 Oled display 1080x1920 on iphone X does make the iphone X looks good, Good job Apple! catch up with 2014 Galaxy S5
Wait how did he replace the dent on the aluminum? i managed to catch a dent on my S9+ (it slipped out of my pocket when i sat down...feelsbadman) Is there a way to remove dents? From my knowledge i dont think you can, but if you can someone please let me know. :)
The IPhone 10 Has gotten me used to wearing my Bluetooth headphones more often
I love ipX but it’s kinda small for me so i bought the 8plus. Well, i l loved it! Got the red one. 😍😍
Do you think with IOS 12 they will have a feature to hide the notch?
I have a 7 plus and have no real complaints with it, don’t need anything like an iPhone X
why....what is the point of going back???? App-switching is TOO GOOD on the X...
I have the X but I'm going to buy the 8 plus red I always wanted red iPhone didn't like the 7 cause of the white front but now I'm willing to go back for it
What can your iPhone do that the Android can't?
I have the 8 plus and it’s great.
Don’t wanna sound rude but the psoriasis thing is only a contributing factor for you and other people who have it. The rest of us who don’t have it probably like Touch ID. But it is your video and how you felt returning to the 8 Plus from the X so I do understand lol
Now you can have the best of both worlds an in size of 8 plus with full screen of the iPhone X .
Watching this on a note 8 but if I was to choose a iPhone again I'll choose the iPhone x because i also have the 5s and iPhone 6 plus laying around and i would like to try out a different design
iPhone x is eye watering $1000 and even more in the UK . Waste of money when am not buying a laptop 💻
does the 8 plus has a better battery than the x?
I just bought an 8+ as I saw no benefit in the iPhone X. In addition, I don't need the phone security of passcodes, fingerprints or facial recognition. All these security features are gimmicky, and not required if your phone never leaves your side or pocket. Interesting observation about OLED burn-in on the X helps re-enforce my decision was the right one. Also, I heard the flash on the X can cause Red-eye!!!
Why do I like ur videos.. despite not liking iPhone.. I'm an Android user.. I do love macs though.. there's no denying that..
I have big hands
I had a 6 and i felt it was just the size
Now i have the 8 plus and i feel its like a tablet but i love it cuz it makes me look more normal jaja
I still running with the 6 plus waiting for the new 10 plus or what ever it’s going to be called but in the plus size
Do you get iMovie app for free when you buy the 8+ ?
I'd like for you to make a video showing what an iphone can do that an android cannot. Your statement just seems like brand loyalty. I know people have their user experience preferences but it seems like you're equating your UI preference to phone functionality. Using both ios and android I don't notice a difference in my phones' capabilities.
Did you say android is limiting? I want to know how
The iPhone 8 Plus is a fabulous phone.
The iPhone X slides on anything you lay it down on without a case.
