best part about this video is they're showing this install as if it were an average joe doing it themselves with just basic tools (besides the plasma cutter) a lot of other videos they have everything under the sun to get the job done. this shows that its really not that much of a pain to do as long as you have the confidence to cut up your truck.
Just a small tip for you guys. When you are using a plasma torch to cut the sheet metal. Try "pulling" it towards yourself when making the cuts, you will find the cuts to be much straighter and less jagged when free handing
You are welcome!!! Glad you like the show. We love prerunners and noticed there was no shows that catered to our sport.
Thanks again for the great comment!
I've seen several of your vids and they are informative and entertaining, but the guitar in the background is annoying and distracting.
This is an very well made video. Detailed, but not dragged out. Thanks guys!
I have been waiting for someone to do this thank you!! Prerunnermaniac 4sure!!!!
Thanks glad you like the show
Glad you like it!!!
Great work guys!
Yes on the Silverado you need to leave what we did on the bedside so the fiberglass can attach. Also keep in mind this is for Fiberwerx 'glass. Other company's 'glass might mount differently.
This show needs to be on the speed channel!!!
Excellent show thank you
Love the videos! Just wish you guys would do videos on doing 2nd gen s10 94-03....trying to figure out how to install glass on my zr2 based truck. I've got trailer products front and rear set
Been wanting to do a pre-runner on my truck for years since everyone in Texas is All about Lifted life. Which is kool and all but what’s a better way to Stand out from the crowd, Go pre-runner truck style… just looks Expensive 🤷🏻♂️😬😬👍🏼🤘🏼👌🏼 awesome show hope to see A lot more videos In the long Run… keep up more show to follow…
Oh dam didn't know that! Then Velocity channel it is!
I cant believe how much work it was just to pull the front fenders off
skatefreak666666 for real! When I widened my Subaru Outback fenders it was like 5 bolts and it was off.
Thats gm for ya
@@Prodriver33 they didn’t remove the fender. The removed part of the fender leaving the inner shell. It’s welded together. You could remove the whole fender in 5 minutes, but can’t cut in half in that time
Well fellas,
With the recent arrival of a ‘07 Silverado 2500HD, I’ve become a regular, here at Full Droop TV.
Let’s hope my build looks as good as your Silverado.
The first acquisition was unplanned, a set of 425/50R22.5 super singles. 42”by 17”.
What do you do the the rear wheel well I saw you cut them out do u have anything that replaces them
I was watching a parts guide for a '89 Mustang GT, how did I end up here? Hmmm, might as well watch all the episodes of the build while I'm at it haha.
I'm looking into buying the fiberwerx prerunner fenders for my F150 but i got a couple of questions about them .
hows the fitment ?could a regular shop fit them on my f150 or do i need a professional body shop to do that ?
and how long does it take to have them ordered and made ?
Hey glad you like our show...sorry don't have an S-10 build in the works. If you lived in Las Vegas, we could do the work at a discounted rate if you allow us to film it.
Ya we are rockin' the Wally World fog lights on our Ranger. Actually they are off the truck now...good eye though.
Yes Fiberwerx is one of our sponsors and I'm sorry you had this problem. We have worked with them for a while and never had one problem. Did you contact them? Also keep in mind that fiberglass pieces do require some massaging to fit properly. It is not like installing a steel fender that is a perfect replica. That is just the nature of fiberglass.
Is the fender removal the same for that year sierra as well? Besides the valence, i mean cuttjng the hole to get to the support brackets inside the fender and everything?
What fiberglass are you using? The front fenders should unbolt but the bedsides will need to have the spot welds drilled out and maybe a little cutting.
In an upcoming episode we will be doing this on a 2007 F150 Supercrew.
Any advise on the 07 sierras? The fender is slightly different shape so I don't know if the cuts will be the same
so did you guys leave the portion of the bedsides that you didn't cut out? I am confused are the bedsides just skins that attach over the portion of the main bedsides?
could you do one for a chevy step side? or is it the same or similar build as a standard bed?
can you fit 35s with the fender kits without the suspension? or just leveled?
The fitment is good on the fenders. I would have a fabrication shop install them as they have more experience working with them than most body shops. Fiberwerx usually has a 7 day turnaround
How do u skin the front fenders on a 2005 there a little different from the video you guys have
do yall know anything about 01-03 F150 supercrew fiberglass? I know the bedsides and front fenders are fiberglass...would I just unbolt it and bolt up the new?
Hey I have a question how do u feel about Rancho rs9000 shocks I have them on my ranger it is my first car that I payed 600 bucks for it is a 91 and what size tire do u think my motor can handle I have the 4.0 v6 I have room to run a 35 or maybe a 37 but I don't know thankyou
Hi, I have a 2004 ram 1500 4x4 with a hemi, and I'm currently running 33's on it and will get some 35's when these wear out. My question is, it seems like it's struggling a little bit with the 33's now, will i have to change the ring and pinion gear to run the 35's? It's hardly ever off-road, mostly highway miles. Also, is there any company that makes these flared fenders out of steel?
Glad you like it. Each episode will air weekly. Check our website FullDroopTV com for tv times. After they are on tv we will upload them to UA-cam the following Saturday.
I've enjoyed watching your videos and have been trying to decide and research what to do with my truck, I have a 2008 silverado single cab short bed every kept telling me to lower but don't like that as much then others said lift but I enjoy driving fast and yet still have control so this led me to prerunner plus I have never seen a single cab nnbs chevy prerunner a lot of crew and ext. anyways I like these fender but like the one piece conversion more is the install typically the same on these except removing the hood and latch I'm assuming you would leave the inner fenders and core suppport any advice would be helpfull.
for what its worth i have a single cab silverado shortbed and i slammed it 9 inches in the front 12 in the back. its cool and looks awesome but you cant drive fast and i literally cant get to some places because how low it is. i have been really wanting to build a pre runner for a long time so im debating doing this to my truck.
what gas cap did you guys use?
I’d probably use a saws-all for the drivers back fender. Probably not a great idea with all those sparks around the gas tank vent/filler. Diesel will be fine but gas venting would be a huge issue
Would the 99-07 process be the same?
Were did you get that gas cap?
i like the fenders but i have a ford ranger and where i can buy a larger fenders thancks
Do they have 8ft long box sides for a silverado
I never knew. Crazy amount of hacking to do those body kits. Sure gets expensive but considering that a lift kit is a joke compared to a real suspension with any real travel and four wheel drive too. I learned what im about to get myself into. Thanks for this info.
Glad the video helped you!!!
What hardware goes on the inside of the door?
I have a question maybe you can answer. I have a 97 Mazda b4000, I know that is basically the ranger but do the long travel and fiberglass kits made for the ranger fit on the mazda?
+Aidan Henderson Yes the long travel kits should work on your Mazda. The fiberglass I'm not sure. It is best to contact a company like Fiberwerx to verify.
he looks like the cool kid in school with the shades on 😎
is there any videos on how to install a 1 piece front end?
Did you ever find a video?
Did Fiberwerx help sponsor this video? I recently purchased a one piece conversion and bed sides from them and it was a nightmare. They sent me wrong parts and didn't send me other parts at all. Then the quality was not near as good as what you say it is in your video. My kit needed heavy modification of the fiberglass to make it work. I was just wondering if Fiberwerx new you wear making this video so they took better care of your order?
Have you ever done fiberwerx fenders/bedsides for 09-15 RAM 1500s? Specifically, the bedsides is what I am more interested in.
Noah Forbes same
Use a mega cab 10-17 dually bed......it's a short bed and flare d since it's for a dually.
how much would it cost to have a shop like yours make a silverado just like that?
Is there a way to still use the wheel wells? If not What do you do with the wire harnesses that were held be the old wheel wells?
this is awhile late, but Izzy fab makes an inner fender liner
When are you guys going to make more videos?!?!?!
it would have been nice to see how u installed the inner fender well , or does it come with a whole new well???
It doesnt get reused, because race truck
You'd be surprised how many people east of Colorado don't know what a prerunner is. That's why we answered that question. Visit our website and ask your own question so we can help our sport move to the East Coast.
This is not entirely related but any help would be appreciated.
Are the factory fenders able to be removed entirely, with out having to do any cutting? I have a major dent in mine and just want to do a full swap.
nope
Best bet buy some dented fenders, an bed from scrap yard
Where can I get those
What was the rise and flair on these fiberworks fenders thanks. Was wondering if the fronts were 4 inch flair or 2inch I'm sure the rear is 4 inch
On this video they used the 4" flare 2 inch rise from fiberwerx.
Advanced fiber glass has the 2" flare and 1 inch rise which am looking forward to, they also the 4" flare and 2 inch rise.
LOL did y'all actually use put the jackstand under the frame or just throw it under there?
Damen Nix they didn't use it and if they did it wasn't doing anything since it wasn't even sitting on a flat spot on the frame
They should fit as long as you have enough offset on the wheels
My 08 silverado is an ls. V8 4.8 can i still prerunner her? Or should i invest in a z71 or lt model
sell the engine to a track car dude and buy a bigger engine with more torque, dont get me wrong you could totally supercharge the ls and put like 3,5 inch straight exhaust on it and bigger injectors(easiest way in my eyes)
Question could i use a grinder to cut the fender? I don't have a plasma cutter lol
Yes. They mention using a grinder, cut off wheel, or sawzall in the vid.
How much would you charge labor for a project like this
What’s the link to these parts
What size Deaver springs did you use on this and the Ford? Can you list the details on all the parts used and all tools used?
Thanks, great videos!
You can PM too, I'll give you my email.
We thought so too...unfortunately Fox is changing that channel to a general sports channel.
I have a 93 Mazda b26004x4 and I what to do this to my truck but can't find nothing for it where can I find this kit .
Try to find them for a Ford Ranger of the same year. They are basically the same truck, so it should work fine.
Are you in Las Vegas
Yes we are off Tropicana and Valley View. visit our website VegasDezertFab com
I would say no bigger than 35's. 33's would be a better choice as the older 4.0 motor isn't as strong as the newer SOHC version.
Can you guys show how to convert a 2005 f150 to a raptor?
Long Travel front and rear, if you really wanna go big hit the rear with a bedcage. Honestly doing a full build yourself is alot of money but the outcomes are dope
great how-to video, but what a hack job to have the fenders mounted.
How much is the cost to make the conversion... 08 silverado
Carlos Garza look it up
Do you work in Las Vegas Nevada
My wife wants to do this with her Ford Explorer sport trac
lol no
Would making a prerunner out of a long bed truck be a bad idea?
il run a 35
No sorry fiberglass bedsides can only be put on standard beds unless you have something custom made I would imagine
That's too hard to answer. It depends on the hourly charge and how fast they can do it. I can say it's not cheap. Building desert trucks is not a cheap hobby.
Screw the plastic wheel well rust cover ups. Wish they made a 2 inch bulge
If only the shop that installed mine watched this. mine are installed wrong and completely ruined.
Ok well I have 33's on it right now
Nice Walmart fog lamps.lol
fiberwerkx hook me up this is so awesome not enough funds 😂😂
IMAGINE A SLAMMED wide body Silverado 🤔
I believe there's one on a Facebook group called "Silverado nation"
I'm sorry but that was a dumb question... prerunner. Its self explanatory.
imagine that you guys just clamped the fender on instead of spot welding it like factory did because you're professionals that believe in modifications and they dont care that you have to drill shit out to modify and replace it. Your company is better than any auto manufacturer, they don't care about the end user at all
If your watchin what do you see......
And why did you delete the video
you guys need power tools
not a fan of those sheet metal screws, you're talking about a prerunner thats taking abuse... without a proper bolt and nut they will come loose at some point, you spend so much time on certain stuff and affix it like trash
Anyone using Ryobi tools in an (professional ) video I just cant take serious!!
This is the rookie version. Many basic ideas. Do not do it this way unless you intend to own the truck for life. The work shown here will NOT add value but instead remove value from your vehicle. DO IT RIGHT OR DON'T DO IT! Might look cool but the reality is anyone with half a head on their shoulders will spot the short comings and walk away if you ever decide to sell it. At their skill level, they would have been better off just installing a lift( not sure they could do that) and calling it good. Hope no one follows their lead!!!
It's not that bad go to pick and pull get a old bed for $150 and u can replace the fenders if u want to go back. then just do a rough country lift
do you know what long travel is?
You ruined that truck
lol wut
