Actually I think that was the correct call. Wasn't a dive, he tried to go between two players and tripped himself up. But not a pen because the defender wasn't trying to trip him. You simply cannot try to go through them as though they are not solid objects and expect to win out every time.

Based on that, I can't see how it's not a yellow, given the knees were already giving way before he reached the two defenders.
I think this season, collectively as the Arsenal team, the players have to be cautious about time wasting as per the new rules. Today's match showed how referees are trigger happy with cards. Note that this matchday week there have been quite a lot of red cards. I think the players need to be careful going forward especially with dodgy decisions from referees and VAR. Other than that, big up the team, we grinded the result and we move on to Fulham. #COYG#

The only way to improve Var is to put ex-pros in there alongside the officials. Coop is not a consistent ref he is card happy and does not use common sense. The club has to appeal both cards.

I was saying it during the game. If they wanted to give an example of their new rules they could have shown they're not shy to give second yellow for "soft" things, by giving him a yellow there. He 100% would have been given one if he wasn't already on one.
But nah, give the yellow to an Arsenal player to even up the game and make the product more entertaining for the viewers.

It's worse isn't it Mr DT? Because just before we get awarded the dead cert pen there was a bookable offence by a palace player, already on a yellow(should have been 2nd yellow and a red), even the commentator says 'and the ref takes pity on him'. But then he goes and sends Tomi off and again the commentator says 'he was hard done by(by both the second yellow and the first after 8sec). I also remember Palace got awarded a free kick on the edge of the box, I commented that wasn't a foul a sec later the commentator says exactly the same. It seemed like the whole game the ref was looking for a chance to give Palace a leg up and way into the game😵💫. It is fortunate the the pen was dead cert or he would've found an angle to deny that also. Actually the VAR was not the problem this time it was the ref. I'm not even from England, but I was screaming at the crap refereeing I was witnessing. Because that is crap everywhere not just in England😱

I'm liking it a lot, keeping the other teams confused because now we can shift it around and have Partey RB inverting and Havertz in midfield while we can switch to Havertz more attacking at any time too. It was a risk but paid off over 2 games.

My uncle is a palace fan and we watched the game together. We both agreed about the ref both ways and speaking throughout the game there was some dogshit decisions.
We believe that eze SHOULD have had a penalty. However tomiyasu never should have had a red and that chance probably doesn't come for eze.

Agree with everything you said, but Arsenal should not have been playing for 1-0 with 40 minutes still to play. The timewasting from the whole team from Ramsdale to Havertz was embarassing and we would have been furious if it was the other way around.

Refs in this country are playing with fire. They better strengthen up before fans start touching them on the street. They have been useless and I keep saying, that they are corrupt. They are probably working with betting company because their salary is very minimal. English referees are corrupt. This is not incompetency.

nketiah is such a selfish and average footballer....i know it's harsh but his style of play clearly proves detrimental to martinelli and arsenal...arteta should either start trossard or jesus whenever he is available....if only nketiah could improve his link up play...he and the team will be much better for it...havertz had a much better play agains cry relative to the forest game...but he has to still improve a lot...just feel gutted for tierney though....of all players he is the one who doesnt deserve the treatment meted to him..but i do understand that arteta is putting the team ahead of the individual...
