This, Nausicaa, and Totoro were all relocalized by Disney because of edits made by the original localization teams. in the early 90's Kiki and Totoro were dubbed by Fox, who thought it was just for kids and paid no attention to the original spirit to films. Heck New Order turned Nausicaa from an environmentally friendly anti war film in to action shlock. So it was with great care that a sword was sent with the "No cuts" note for Mononoke. Dis kept it up for the rest of the back catalog after starting with Spirited Away, Kiki, and Castle in the Sky.
