      Scuse me, but the protective glove ad the robot able to pull people from burning buildings (I have only watched about half of the video as yet) are definitely solutions to problems. As is the terrain wheelchair and the exo skeleton. The tattoo prosthetic arm must be very useful to this particular person, but is not applicable to a large number of people or instances. Some of them, though, are just novelty stuff, or complete rubbish, like the diesel bike. It makes cycling bad for your health.

    • @fermentedoj315
      @fermentedoj315 4 місяці тому

      Firefighters actually use flames to do controlled burns in forests. It prevents kindling(dead leaves and trees) from building up, which in turn prevents a bigger wildfire from happening later. Also, fire actually can help forests. Forests usually have a heavy amount of debris like dead trees and leaves that build up over time, or invasive plants, weeds etc. A controlled burn can get rid of that stuff. A lot of trees seeds are are also covered in sap, which burns off and allows the seed to grow into trees, and overall creates more space for healthy plants

    As a fan of videos compiling innovative designs I have developed an ALMOST irrational hate for these doors. (If you want to know more, search Torggler Door, and then I hope you'll get over it like I quickly did.) Yes, they look nifty... That is literally the ONLY advantage they have over a common sliding barn-door, and brief thought can probably lead you to realizing all of the disadvantages of the designs, from the multiple pinch points to the difficulties of sealing the doorway properly with them.
    They don't open more easily than a properly installed barn door, or many other types of doors. They don't open more smoothly. They aren't quieter. They literally have no advantage except a brief feeling of "Hmm. Lookie there!..." Which quickly fades.
    But they look different, so they're in THOUSANDS of videos... Which means not only are they not good doors, or new innovations, they're also not even surprising any more.
    I wish people would stop.

    @ 10:32 You mean to tell me we can't harness the sun to power our homes? Look at that tiny little thing generating over 500 degrees, with just mirrors alone, and no magnifiers! How could such a solar harnessing devise NOT be capable of heating water into super steam, power generators, or recharge massive lithium battery cells, hundreds of them, weighing several tons?
    Now imagine a device 100 times this size and see what it can do.
    Better: imagine 1,000 of such devices, a quarter-mile wide each, orbiting the planet, and receiving 24/7/365(6) power from the sun, and returning 100 gigawatts of power each.
    There is no energy crisis. There is, however, a crisis of will, morality and innovativeness among us.
    Harnessing the Sun is the only way forward for technological societies.

      You mean at 9:55? Well, 1. ground-based focusing mirrors for individual homes would only work when the sun is out, or they're not covered in snow. When the sun IS out, they must be rotated to follow it, and that power comes from ... where ...? 2. There ARE much larger arrays like this, such as Ivanpah. 3. As for huge such devices in space, surely they would be used as weapons long before they'd be used for power generation ...

    • @1toshi32
      @1toshi32 5 місяців тому

      I hope no one agrees with your idea of putting mirrors in space to harness the solar power from space. Imagine the extra heat it would generate onto the earth. There would be a real global warming problem rather than the made up story of us warming the planet that they are dishing out right now. Volcanoes are generating far more co2 than anything we can produce though China is giving it a real boost.
