- Опубліковано 20 жов 2024
- I am selling this AL-1200 Amplifier that I picked up at an Estate Sale a couple of years ago. I need to re-coup some costs from my Icom Giveaway last month and I don't have room for this amp any longer. It was pulled from a working station when I got it. Offers welcome and free delivery is available to a certain area - take a look!

SOLD!
I wish, Thanks Jason for all the Hamming it Forward!
$3000 is a little steep, $2000 would be plenty due to the condition. I gave $2100 for a 1500 a few years back, in perfect condition. P.S. if you do ship it, take the tube and the transformer out and ship them separately. The box will flex with that huge transformer.
$3000 is what they go for on QRZ, that is where I got the price. I'd take a little less though
I agree about that price 😂.
@@HamRadio2 tell them to go buy a new one with the crappy non peter dahl xfmr and crappy 3cx1200Z7 for $6000 plus tax. the tube is worth $2000
Had an AL-811h years ago. Four 811 tubes, would do 1200pep on SSB all day despite the lower rating. They make great amps. GLWS!
this is the toughest ameritron ever made. the 3cx1200a7 is bullet proof, 2200w pep, 1500w for hours. I love mine
Awesome amplifier! A friend had me store one for him awhile, but I didn't have large enough dummy load to handle the power it would put out or the $3,000 he wanted for it so I was about afraid to run it at my station because my luck isn't so great anyway. I did tune it to legal limit on my dummy load one night, but unkeyed it and unhooked it after the oil in the dummy load began to bubble from reaching the boiling point! I thought the fan was very loud, especially compared to my AL-80B's fan which isn't much of a cooling fan anyway. The cooling fan in the AL-80B would still let the 3-500Z tube heat up pretty hot so I took an old 12 volt 4 inch x 4 inch computer fan on a 12 volt wall wart and hung it on the outside of the amp's cabinet pulling air out from right beside the tube and with the built-in cooling fan on the opposite side of the tube it runs much cooler now! I hung the outside fan with 2 plastic coated paper clips that clip through the holes on the top corners of the cooling fan and slid the other ends of the paper clips through the top left & right slots in the cooling vent that's right beside of the tube and it works great! I hope whoever bought your AL-1200 babies it because they sure don't want to pay what a replacement 3CX1200Z7/YU181 vacuum tube costs! MFJ/Ameritron has them priced at $3,499.95! "Very 73 de Cliff, KU4GW"
I have a export version with 10m it puts out 2300w no problem. I'm in Canada $3000cad its got new hv caps, bleeders and a new relay board with a new spare
Hi Jason,
If you need to ship, may I suggest after you place it in a box, to take it to the shipper and have them box it with foam in bag. That will give it the most protection. You and your family stay safe. 73 WJ3U
I would NOT take it to the SHIPPER ....They do not know how to remove the tube and transformer in the amplifier and they will do a BAD packing.........Believe me please..
you need to pull the xfmr, tube and chimney and ship them all separate. otherwise the xfrmr will rip the chassis and destroy the amp. the tube and chimney will fly around and be destroyed too
ooo I have wanted the AL 1200 for 25 years + That has always ben my Dream Box But so Out of my Reach $$$$ Wise...I got a budy that has a box with 2 of them tubes n it & it will Walk The Dog & Kick The Cat ! ! ! .lol.
sk436 is the glass chimney
Did you sell this behemoth?? So sweet! I need it!
I did sell it, yes
I don't know, it sounds like a good deal, but that missing screw is a deal breaker for me. 😉
I just sold a Ameritron AL-1500 for $2000.00 in mint condition!
Great price
That’s a very nice amplifier my friend. But a bit too pricey for me 😂😂 lol. We are going to have to get you an amplifier to make a video to show you car ham radio setup lol 😆 gotta see your setup. Hahaha 🤣 increase your power 😂😂😂
Oh you never tried it out you don’t know if it’s really working or not?
The guy I bought it from had it working, but no, I don't have a plug for it. That is why I said I can drive it to you to test
How much for the Flex???
Not selling the Flex
🔥🔥🔥
How much
$3000 obo
$3000 is very steep for this amplifier and a rare tube that it uses will be hard to find and it must be mint,so around $2000 is fair with the some scratches and bent end of the cover.......AL-1500 tubes are easier to find and buy.........
Well again, that is what they are selling for on QRZ. Why would I discount it less than what others are paying there?
@@HamRadio2 well,it's up to you on what you are asking for,but the AL-1200 amplifier is not easier to sell than a AL-1500,due to the tube it is using...
@@novatech2 True but that doesn't seem to affect their resell price
On my wish list but life has other plans.
I have one New In Box, no tube. Anyone interested?
DX has them for sale for 5900
Good, that means $3000 is a good price, then
Good luck with that estate price $1000
Not for this amp, check QRZ
Yea sure
@@bobcarr2464 Great! Thanks for checking - now you see that your price was wrong. Congrats. Also, I just sold this amp for a bit under my asking price. 73!
low baller confirmed
Yea get rid of it fast $$$$$$$
Already gone
No way in hell I’d ship that with out a wooden crate and insulation. 3k for an ameritron is steep. I’d look for an alpha amp closer if possible. Good luck though. Don’t ship that thing man. Lol
Lol well I don't want to ship it but we'll see. Also an Alpha is easily twice that price.
@d-labelectronics - good source for a video ;) 73 i'm too far away ...
Get My Number from Mike ,. if it don't show up here !
Dang, T-Ray, you’re up late eh?
