Trump instituted special economic zones which for the most part were in Black communities or at least the poor communities in the United States in large cities. Instead of having to ask for money every year black colleges got paid up front 10 years for the first time ever because of Trump black colleges now receive all the funding they need. Criminal Justice reform help people with extremely long sentences especially with marijuana and disproportionately aided the black community.

However this one man Trump affected the lives in a positive way of millions people in communities that weren't getting attention especially from the Democrats.

Ppl left right and center hate the fact that he is using and abusing this church along with their pastor and so called leaders. Blasphemy. We also don't appreciate the lies he told there or the defaming of other ppl he and others were doing. He did this in order we to stand up for black voters in a well known area, yet very few black ppl even attended, which can be watched on many videos taken of the place and crowd. His team also bussed in well known & recorded black voters that are not from the area, wearing lanyards and tags other networks have covered to make it appear as if Trump had a few more black supporters there, however, even with them there the audience is most definitely an almost all white group. The cameras of thd audience speak for themselves. The government should not tell you how to pray & your pastor should never tell you how to vote. No campaign speeches in churches! It's wrong. That's Jesus house, not those wanting to hold a public office.

In 1999, during the Wall Street Project Conference, long-time civil rights activist, founder and president of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., reflecting on his bid for the presidency, said of President Trump that he “created for many people a comfort zone when I ran for the Presidency, in ’84 and ’88. And [although] many others thought it was either laughable or something to avoid, he came to our business meeting here in New York, because he has this sense of the curious and a will to risk to make things better.” Rev. Jackson even referred to Donald Trump as “a friend” when he introduced him to the audience. He also made mention of the fact that President Trump donated office space to Rainbow/PUSH in The Trump Building at 40 Wall Street, all with no expectation of being compensated for such a gesture. This was even reported on in The New York Times. Consequently, Jesse Jackson was in a much more unique position to pressure big American corporations to hire, promote, and do business with more Black Americans and other minorities, as he had hoped. Why would Jesse Jackson, a Reverend and civil rights leader, who has committed his life to fighting for equality and justice for Black people in America, choose to befriend a racist? Why would a racist want to be of assistance to a well-known Black civil rights activist and organization that works diligently to advance a more equitable society for Black people?
In 1992, on the Charlie Rose show, Donald Trump, speaking of the first African-American mayor of New York City, David Dinkins, said the following: “Dinkins has really done a great job, in terms of coming back, and I also think he’s a great human being, I think he’s a very fine man. He helped me, but he was tough, he was strong, he was very community-oriented, he was very much for the people.” And more than just paying lip service and making symbolic gestures, Donald Trump generously opened his wallet to make more than a few campaign contributions to prominent African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American and Middle Eastern-American political figures, including long-time Harlem congressman Charles Rangel (D) (to whom Trump made fourteen campaign contributions), Herman Call McCall (D), Malcolm A. Smith (D), Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz, Jr. (D-NY), the former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley (R), Jeanine Pirro (R), Benjamin Cayetano (D), and José Félix Díaz (D).
In 1991, Donald Trump refused to join the highly exclusive Bath and Tennis Club, right across the street from his private residence, the Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida on the basis that the Club did not extend invitations to Black and Jewish Americans. Donald Trump’s Club even filed a lawsuit against the town of Palm Beach alleging that the membership restrictions were discriminatory and unconstitutional. When Donald Trump turned Mar-a-Lago into a private social club in 1995, he allowed for the admission of both Blacks and Jews, celebrities and notable figures including Michael Jackson, Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, and Dr. Ben Carson, among others.
In 1987, Donald Trump hosted a pre-convention party for the NAACP and advocated for the African-American civil rights organization at their 78th Annual Convention in New York. Due to the high and rising costs of being headquartered in NYC and minimal financial assistance from the local government, the NAACP was forced to relocate to the city of Baltimore in Maryland. Donald Trump said, “The NAACP should have a place in the greatest city in the world. But it’s the same old story: Because of this administration, organizations are forced to leave New York…” Donald Trump was even named chairman of the New York Citizens Committee for the convention.
In 1999, in an interview on Larry King Live, Donald Trump, when asked about who he would select as a running mate, said: “Oprah, I love Oprah. Oprah would always be my first choice. She’s a great woman. She is a terrific woman, she’s somebody that’s very special. If she’d do it, she’d be fantastic, I mean she’s popular, she’s brilliant, she’s a wonderful woman. I mean, if she’d ever do it.” Needless to say, Oprah is an African-American woman. The very next year, however, Trump abandoned his wishes to seek the presidential nomination under the Reform Party, issuing the following statement to The New York Times: “The Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. Fulani, This is not [the] company I wish to keep.” Why would President Trump refuse the company of a Klansman and a neo-nazi if their thought patterns are similar?
In his book The America We Deserve published in the year 2000, Donald Trump writes, “The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission should be in the business of protecting African Americans, Hispanics, Gays, and other minorities against obvious discrimination.” Why would a racist be concerned with protecting Black people and other people of color from discrimination?
Under the Trump administration, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Black Americans experienced the lowest overall rate of unemployment in the labor force (5.4%) ever to be recorded in the history of the country. The unemployment rate was even lower for Black women at 4.4.%. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Black Americans also had the lowest poverty rate on record.
In 2018, President Trump signed an Executive Order forming the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council chaired by HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson to invest $100 billion into economically impoverished neighborhoods across the nation, most of which are composed of Black Americans, to create incentives for investment and to spur economic growth and development. A year earlier, in 2017, POTUS signed an Executive Order to contribute additional funding to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s), more than any other president before him.
Trump also signed the First Step Act into law in 2018. More than 90% of those who received a reduction in their prison sentences as a result of this legislation are Black Americans. President Trump also pardoned the first Black heavyweight boxing champion, Jack Johnson, who was charged and convicted of a crime for transporting a white woman across state lines. He also commuted the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson who spent 21 years in prison for a non-violent, first-time drug offense. Why would President Trump pardon Jack Johnson, a Black man, especially if he was accused of transporting a white woman across state lines, if he is a racist?
President Trump nominated the first African-American woman, then-Col. Lorna M. Mahlock, to serve as general of the United States Marine Corps (USMC). He also nominated General Charles Brown to serve as the first African-American Air Force Chief.
President Trump is also aggressively tackling the issue of illegal immigration (which is having an adverse economic impact on Black America) by allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to enforce the law and do their job which is to locate, detain, arrest and deport those who are in the country illegally. He is also beefing up border patrol personnel at the U.S.-Mexico border along with building the physical barrier to curb the crossing at the border as promised. A significant reduction in the number of illegal immigrants present and crossing over into the U.S. will have a positive effect on Black Americans across the country.
In conclusion, given the aforementioned, it is very difficult, in my eyes, to make a very strong and persuasive case that President Trump is indeed a racist. The various statements, expressions and actions above do not align with my general understanding and perception of one who is a racist and racially prejudiced; and I believe, does not reflect in any way the attitude of one who harbors a particular resentment and antipathy toward someone because of their race or skin color. I make public confession and declaration of my own imperfections and fallible nature, however, which I am very well aware leaves more than ample room for error in judgment--the fact that I could be wrong in my assessment of the situation. But if he is a racist, as some contend, then he needs to go back to racism school (to steal a phrase from Larry Elder) because he is doing an extremely terrible job at it!
