I feel like McFarlane is a perfect example of a figure that looks amazing but is articulated horribly. Mainly due to the ratchets and how hard they are to pose sometimes. I'd rather have a decent looking figure that poses extremely well. But I guess we can't have both, really good aesthetic and stellar articulation. Anyway, great review!
We have plenty of figures that score an A+ on sculpt, paint and articulation.. they just aren't being made for 20 bucks lol. You want all those high points you need to buy imports.
@@brooksysdead Yeah the articulation as far as mobility is amazing. But I also appreciate smooth joints. If a figures range of motion is amazing but you break a sweat just posing the damn thing, what's the point?
The head alone was reason enough for me to want this figure, especially when you compare it to the previous Baraka. It's got a decent number of problems, especially the trigger hands, weird blades and weird knees, but it is a good looking figure at its core, especially from the torso up. Those elbows don't even look as bad as McFarlane elbows usually do, and even the double thigh swivel is decently done on the legs. Super glad to see more MK11 figures from McFarlane, because I've mostly been enjoying the line, especially when compared to stuff like their DC figures.
I really like this figure I have the original shirtless release and it was pretty good, I just wish they gave this figure his metal blades to fully go for his classic look
@@SuperKingofthings yeah its really cool, it would be better tho if they just made two sets one fully extended and the other shorter so the peg isn't exposed
At this point, I feel like McFarlane is doing trigger finger hands just to troll that they're not allowed to include guns with some of their figure, otherwise it makes no sense at all. It's good to see they're starting to include different hands with some of their figures too.
The trigger hands are interesting. If you have the Munitions Pack, you could give Baraka the RPG, which is reminiscent of that scene in MK9 where one of his henchmen toys around with one. 🤣🤣
Anthony's videos release at night where I live,I'm kinda tired but this is exactly what happened: Anthony: hey what's up guys.. Me:😪🤳. Anthony:.. Mortal 11 Kombat.. Me:🧐🤳
Nerd moment but in MK9 it was specifically a plot point that Kano/the Black Dragon were supplying Shao Kahn’s forces with firearms and teaching the Outworlders (including Tarkatans, Baraka’s race) how to use guns, which comes into play during that game’s retelling of MK3’s plot, so yeah trigger finger hands as a natural go-to for Baraka of all characters is insane lol Dunno why McFarlane wastes time and money engineering articulation in a baffling way that doesn’t work anyway but that head (and good sculpt all around, could use more paint though) does save this one for sure
Anthony, I agree a wash on the clothes and gear would of been excellent. The well applied pink paint should of been done to all his skin. Lobo had mismatched skin paint apps and it detracted the work done on the sculpt and aesthetic. Oh it makes me break out the Disney swears Crimanitly! Non the less I will keep my preorder unless I find him in a store first. Brutal review😄
That is a good looking figure. I am not a fan of Mortal Kombat, but I did enjoy the games where they were still 2-D with digitized characters. I would not mind having this figure.
3:44 Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know you review them as they come outta the box...I get it. But, for viewers who might want to know, here goes. Run those bone blades under some hot tap water and bend them to your desired liking, then put them under cold water and they stay where you put them. I have mine in a nice 20 degree curve. Problems usually have a solution and this is just one of them.
That actually won't work... Not for long anyway. Heating the plastic gently will get it to return to us original annealed shape. Reshaping it and cooling it will get it to hold a new shape for a while but it won't last. Without introducing enough heat to change the structure of the molecules, you won't change it permanently.
Zup Anthony, hahahaha! It’s ok keep on trying to be funny, nothing surprising here, beautiful esthetic nicely detailed, for some reason Mcfarlane doesn’t believe in adding some hands to its figures, one note McF figures look more expensive than what they are, in contrast to Marvel Legends ones. Any-who, thanks for the video bro 😎
It’s so frustrating as you work down a figure’s articulation and everything is going ok until you get to the knees and ankles. It’s like everything that worked above the knees is now basically useless. Those ratcheted ankles need to go, across all Macfarlane lines.
I don't get every figure with trigger fingers...How open fingers outstretched and a fist. I don't understand why martial art characters ship with no fist. Wicked toys has entered the kneejoint chat 😄
As a customizer I generally agree with most of what you say Anthony but I gotta whole heartedly disagree about this being " the best looking Baraka figure that ever existed" lol. Storm collectibles owns that title and Noone can argue that lol
Uh, yeah, someone CAN argue that. Anthony is right. The Storm Collectibles one is bad as far as aesthetics go. The McFarlane version trumps it. Even the original shirtless release looks better.

One point of articulation I'm not sure you saw is the thigh swivel, hidden right above the knee, where the cloth shorts end! It can be helpful
I think you didn't watch the whole video. I talked about it specifically

Mcfarlanes ball jointed ankles are just frustrating at times.
FIST HANDS! why is this so hard 😫 The new Hawkman figure has trigger finger hand...why.
I wonder if you can switch the knees and remedy the weird opposite direction they're sculpted in.
they still wont be centered. just wrong on the opposite side
@@AnthonysCustoms oh :(
I like this figure, but I put the brain accessory on his claw for display, and after a few months, it bent the claw because it’s softer plastic.
Wow the face looks awesome! Thank you for the excellent review Anthony💯💗🤟
Once I get this guy , the other 2 versions I have will look like his minions from the story , so win honestly
Honestly this figure looks so cool
Did you pick the new Nightwolf up? Would love to see your opinion on him.

It's true. The ankles can ruin a figures posing
Thanks for the review, I'm buying it.
Great head sculpt
I love this figure but I think the storm one is better for the articulation
Baraka bama lol
