Hi. Am looking to buy this stand. Can you pls tell me if you put the bolt in the hole in the base down to the floor?? Will it stand if we don’t wanna put the hole in the floor along with the stand ? Am confused if we need to put hole in the floor with the stand.
Lovely... We are gonna follow this in India too. We did false ceiling for our home without giving a provision for the hook. So couldn't hang the thotil. This is a useful workaround. Valthukal

This is nice idea but nowadays the Indian cradle (ghodiyu) is easily available in USA in some stores and online too. The electric motor is also available which help swing automatically. All very safe, easy to use, portable and cheaper than this option.
Cloth cradle is the traditional Indian cradle that could be used for 3+ years babies and is so comfortable than the Ghodiyu version .. Even I tried that version first in India, assuming this cloth cradle option is not in USA.. But my baby didn't comfortably sleep in it.. Once I shifted to cloth cradle, she had undisturbed sleep.. Even scientifically, cloth cradle is the best for baby's back.. It also imitates the cozy comfort of being in mom's womb..
I always feel we should follow our Indian method . With all theses news of baby deaths in American made rockers , it’s terrifying . Please tell me if you happened to talk to your doctor about this ?!! Will there be legal issues … have you used it for infants .
