    So I decided I only needed one day of practice on Oneida this year! I know I am getting a bit too cocky! Time to settle back down and fish like I used too! Although I did have some guide trips on Ontario this week and we had a great time fishing for some nice smallmouth I knew I needed to put some more time in on Oneida Lake. I had a day of practice and hit a lot of areas that I have fished in the past hoping to come across a fish or two! I had an alright practice as far as seeing what the lake was like and I was confident that I could put a good bag together based on the predicted conditions for the next day! Boy was I wrong! It was a grind all around and I was only able to put 4 fish in the boat. I did have number 5 on plenty and that 5th fish would have helped me get a check and move up a bit higher in points!
    Who is SmallmouthCrush?
    Travis Manson was born and raised where the giant Smallmouth Bass of the north live...WISCONSIN. He started fishing from the bank at a young age and spent most of his childhood with a rod in his hand. Travis is primarily a self-taught angler that is always learning and experiencing this amazing sport of fishing. He started out fishing for walleyes and fishing in local walleye tournaments, but then in his mid 20's, he caught the BASS BUG and has been hooked every since. He competed at the highest level in bass fishing on the Bassmaster Elite Series for a number of years. He is a fishing guide offering trips on the Chesapeake Bay for largemouth bass(year round), guided trips for smallmouth back in Wisconsin (during select times) and trophy smallmouth bass guided trips in Upstate New York (May-November) His UA-cam Channel is named after his passion for the smallmouth bass and will be used as a platform for "how-to" videos, on the water instruction, crazy on and off the water topics and vlogs on the day in the life of a fishing addict! Hope you enjoy!

    I love the hard work at the end of the day. Oneida is a fun lake to fish. The weigh in Line was kind of silly. We had a decent day in the grass plugging for green fish. My co finished top 10 and I just missed the check cut. The big ones weren't cooperating like they did in practice. Your videos are awesome Travis, keep it up.

    Hungry for that Costa now boy! Laser focused let's go! That music on the way into weigh-in....nearly tears. That net stuck on the hook....realized I was cringing in my chair over here. LOL Katie Jan Knee calling in and he goes "Oh no" LOL. Chatterbaits, jigs, hush puppies, sweet tea...etc. HA. His female co ended up guiding him to 13 and change huh? NICE!

    Dam I know what you mean when the motor goes down for catfish days off the Mississippi two deferent times and could get back. We throw back a 4# and the other times it was 5.5# with the other fish we could have won. Hang in like you did.

    How bad does it suck when your lanyard gets tangled with your reel handle. Usually only happens on a better fish it seems.

      It does happen a lot....I actually have an extra long one so that makes it even worse!

    Nice length video. Are you netting tuna with that thing? I can see we need to do a how to net fish during a tournament. I know boaters who have the same problems. You hook; I’ll net. You cant be having all those rods on the deck, in defense of the net guy. Lol. See you on the water.

    • @SmallmouthCrush
      @SmallmouthCrush  6 років тому

      I wasn't to considered, I didn't loose a fish due to the netting so it was all good! See you on the water!
