I just said to my husband, look at this girl, she’s amazing, she just has a go and manages to do brilliant renovations. You always give me ideas. Well done and your house is looking so stylish. Please do a tour once you get finished! Xx
Absolutely love this and elegant. I don't like ready made ones either nor do I have the money for them. A bespoke one is my style too and yours is perfect ma'am thanks so much you just earned another subscriber ❤️
Amazing video! Could you reccomend a suitable nail gun and length of nails you used, I'm from UK wanted something affordable but actually worth getting :)
shouldnt you have left larger gaps between the boards? Im concerned that most of the heat will be trapped inside the cover. Also, the thermostats regulates itself relative to the temperature in the room yea? I reckon it's gonna mess up since it's obviously gonna be warmer inside the cover as opposed to the actual room temperature. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
No the gaps are large enough to let the warm air pass through. It doesn’t hold the heat in whatsoever and the hallway is just as warm as before we installed it. We have a separate thermostat to control the heating so it the radiator cover doesn’t affect that at all
Great design, a bit of glue would have helped the slat corner joints, am a afraid because there is no glue the joints will move and the filler will crack. A great job though.
I love this ! I’m wanting to build one for my dining room but a larger one with some kind of hinged door for storage. Do you think it would be possible 😵💫😂?
Beautiful job btw. question. do you keep this on the radiator while it's on? I live in a pre war building which we do not control the thermostat & i'm concerned that anything i build over the radiator will either peel or worst case catch fire, Im thinking what i should do to makes it fire proof.
Yes we keep it on. I didn’t attach it to the wall so we could slide it out to adjust the thermostat. It doesn’t touch the radiator at all so it should be fine 😊
actually this is bad for the circulation. the gaps need to be wider tho... function over design is always the best choice here.. especially when the prices are getting higher and higher...
Hi nice job but sorry 😢 how do you get to the knob 1 and if you leaves it on for winter no much heat I believe you should leave some space between each Planck and a visiting space to get to the knob sorry to tell you that but it is my own opinion in place of that the job is nice
@@LouiseHenryHome hahaha doh!!of course didn’t even think to lay them all out first haha thank you. I’m very new to building and loving the journey, thank you for inspiring me xx
Very nice. HOWEVER, please remember to be SAFE. Your fingers near that nail gun made me nervous. Just keep your fingers away from it, even if you are sure the nail won't go through and that you won't accidentally put it in crooked (coming out on the top). Also, hair up and ideally safety glasses. We want to see more cool DIY, not a vlog from hospital 😉
Great to see UK based channel it's always hard to find stuff that is applicable to homes here

Awww thank you so much 😊 of course I’m planning on doing lots more room and house tours 🤩 xx
Thank you, exactly what I needed to see....of what I want...now to show hubby and get him to make it for me!!!
Awesome look. My wife and I live in the US and our house is full of old cast iron radiators, she will love this look.
Just great and so impressed with your skills
This is exactly what i need! Thank you for this
This is brilliant! A minimalist and modern take on radiator covers!! Love it...might adapt the idea...☺
Louise you never cease to amaze me. Another awesome job xx
Thank you so much 😊 xx
Gorgeous. Wish I had the tools and the motivation to do this
Beautiful
That’s just levelled the entrance up by 100% looks fantastic
Thank you 😊 xx
Well done Louise👏🏻

Thank you for this I’ve been looking for a video like this for months….hate the look of the radiators in my apartment
Looks fantastic!!! Great job!!
just what I've been looking for! Thanks for sharing~
Looking good what a transformation to that side, happy new year to you and Steve,
Thank you 😊 Happy new years to you too xx
I love it. Do you think it would work longer and with a plank on the top?
Inspired!!! 🎉
Looks great
Brilliantttt
Hi Louise this looks great, do you mind me asking the size of the top panels please
Looks very stylish Louise, love it x Perfect for the hallway. Happy New Year to you and Steve x
Thank you 😊 Happy new year 🥳 xx
Amazing video! Could you reccomend a suitable nail gun and length of nails you used, I'm from UK wanted something affordable but actually worth getting :)
Hey I have the Titan nail gun from screwfix. It's decent for a budget on but I'd like to upgrade to a better one tbh x
Hi there. May i ask what thickness mdf you used. Great job by the way
Wow love it what a great idea u always seem to do it yourself I’m def gonna try this it looks amazing
Thank you 😊 xx
Nice job.... PLease what's the name and model of your electric nail gun? Hope it's fit for purpose? Thanks

Good but heat disipation will be greatly reduce with wood ?
Loving this look,it looks really expensive ,great job xx
Thank you 😊 xx
9:50 As you mention here that top does seem too close to top of radiator. I was wondering about sitting items atop.
Hi, did you need to use primer on the wood first. What primer and paint did you use. Thanks
Sorry if this was answered, but how did you fogure out the exact distance for all your slats to fit perfectly? Looks so amazing ❤
Yes I worked it out roughly before and built the frame to be the correct size for my slats and leave a gap as well 😊
Great design, a bit of glue would have helped the slat corner joints, am a afraid because there is no glue the joints will move and the filler will crack. A great job though.
I glad u love to paint. I hate it! I draw up what I want, hubby makes it, I style it. Its a good plan for me. 🤣🤣🤣
I’m jealous 😂
I love this ! I’m wanting to build one for my dining room but a larger one with some kind of hinged door for storage. Do you think it would be possible 😵💫😂?
Thank you 😊 I’m sure it would be possible. It just depends how you do it
Beautiful job btw. question. do you keep this on the radiator while it's on? I live in a pre war building which we do not control the thermostat & i'm concerned that anything i build over the radiator will either peel or worst case catch fire, Im thinking what i should do to makes it fire proof.

This looks great!! How would you say this model held up vs the ones you’ve done before?
Definitely much more sturdy than the one I’ve done before 😊 the only thing I would change is running another horizontal support along the middle
Does it still heat evenly and efficiently with this type of cover?
Yes it does 😁
Question: are you still able to keep this cover in place when the radiator is functioning?
actually this is bad for the circulation. the gaps need to be wider tho... function over design is always the best choice here.. especially when the prices are getting higher and higher...

4:40 there's no attachment behind to the wall, so they can slide cover away from radiator.
Ioveeeeeeee the cover you are so good I wish I had the confidence to do things like this
Thank you 😊 you can definitely do it. Just takes practice xx
Great work! What nail gun did you use?
Thank you 😊 it’s called the ‘Bauker 18 Gauge Straight Nailer Stapler 240V’ we got it from Toolstation
That’s fab but surely it can’t let out the same amount of heat as before? I’m wanting to do this it just seems like it wouldn’t give out heat 😕😃
It still gives out the same amount of heat as without it 😊 The gaps are big enough to let it out
Hi lovely I want to do this how did you measure the number of slats including the gaps I’m worried I’m gonna not fit them all in at the same size xx
I was worried about that too. Just make sure you measure twice and lay your slats out before you attach them and you’ll be fine 😊 xx
@@LouiseHenryHome hahaha doh!!of course didn’t even think to lay them all out first haha thank you. I’m very new to building and loving the journey, thank you for inspiring me xx
Hi Louise how do we get that radiator cover and vase
Can’t seem to find timber sticks in Canada. Do they go by another name?
Sometimes they’re called Stripwood I think. That’s in the UK anyway
Great job
What type of nail drill are you using
Looks nice but I bet it definitely blocks some of the heat from getting out
We haven’t found that it blocks any heat out tbh
How much it cost? In labor and materials?
🔥
How the heats getting out then?
Very nice. HOWEVER, please remember to be SAFE. Your fingers near that nail gun made me nervous. Just keep your fingers away from it, even if you are sure the nail won't go through and that you won't accidentally put it in crooked (coming out on the top).

Çok güzel eline sağlık 👏👏👏
Hi Louise, please do you mind sharing your measurements?
Of course. It’s 107cm wide, 21cm deep and 73cm high. I do wish it was a bit taller though 🙈
@@LouiseHenryHome thank you 😊
@@LouiseHenryHomeat ends ( sides), cut short sticks and nail. No need for front, just the ends.
You did not cover the radiator you just killed it😂
is ok if I say this is sacrificing the air circulation for the aesthetic?
they are $100+ on amazon and im never going to buy them
