I was reading some specs on this scope and the FOV, is not that great on 1 power, better then average on high power. is the eye box forgiving?

I’ve bought several Vortex LVPO and my recent buy was the Trijicon Credo. The Trijicon is very impressive.

Great review as always. I would have loved to seen how it compares glass quality wise as far as the 1951 US Air Force Chart since you already had it up.

Shoot. I forgot to roll in that footage. It's a sharp scope. I'll see if I can track down that clip and post it all by itself.

Zero Tech makes good stuff. For a good look at performance, I could suggest Rogee Productions here in YT. This is a guy and his friend in New Zealand and they hunt on public land for big horn sheep, stag, reds, using a .300 WSM and a Zero Tech scope.
As for LPVO, I could see using this for an AR-15, even for defensive uses, as well as close range hunting. For example, my Windham Weaponry Dissipator M4 A3 came from the factory with a combat zero (25-300) on the iron sights. Out of the box, right on the crosshairs. And so, with a MPBR rise and fall of 5 inches, just aim center of mass and you will get on target. I could see doing this with an LPVO, as well.
Or using it on a rig for hunting within 300 yards. In most places, especially in wooded areas like we have in east Ok and east Tx, the wind gets broken up and you will not need a lot of windage adjustment.
Granted, someone I know made a long distance shot with his Windham Weaponry 5.56 (he inspired me to get one) at 850 yards. Bet money to pop a balloon in the window. He won 200 for making a balloon a popped balloon. I don't know what optic he had on that but it was a scope and he had it near the top of elevation and then held over some more.

I would LOVE this scope out hog hunting. And defense? Absolutely.

I can’t actually believe that an illuminated reticle is “daylight visible”. I want a simple daylight visible dot, and FFP reticle. I’m not interested in reticles that have MOA gradations, so that’s the nail in the coffin. I know there are high dollar options that have front focal plane mill reticles and second focal plane red dots integrated into a single scope. I’m waiting for one of the budget manufacturers to come out with something like that. I would settle for one that is second focal plane if it just has a bright ass dot.

Only the horseshoe and dot light up on this reticle. I'm testing one with a MIL Christmas-tree reticle and an illuminating dot right now: the Falcon S10i. So far I'm really liking it.

Mueller makes a “dot only” 1-4 scope. I don’t know exactly how bright it is but I really like the idea of the dot only or even the circle dot like the old Leupold CQ/T

All my scopes with illuminated reticles are daylight visible. Leupold, Vortex, Trijicon, etc.

Do you still go to any of the 600 yard competitions at Red Castle? I shot my first competition there this past Saturday and was kind of let down that nobody "normal" showed up; it was nothing but a bunch of Gucci everything shooters using $2,000 joystick front rests. I was shooting off a bipod with a rear bag and managed to beat one of them, but jeez, where was everybody?

I haven't shot that match in a loooong time, but I know what you mean. Most of the guys out there seem to be working toward Nationals. It's not a bunch of Average Joes.

How does it compare to the Falcon S10i?

    • @SocialRegressive
      @SocialRegressive  Рік тому +1

Both demonstrate excellent tracking and have a clear, crisp image. The Falcon's insane IP67 weather-resistance rating is certainly a standout. The difference is really down to the reticles, though. In my opinion, the Zero Tech favors close distances and has decent long-range capabilities. The Falcon favors longer shots and has decent close-range capabilities. I would pick one based on what I'm most likely to do with the rifle.

Is it made in China? It looks a lot like a SIG MSR, only more expensive.

    • @SocialRegressive

Most of the Zero Tech scopes are made in China (they don't feel that way, though). I think their only Japanese model is the new Trace Advanced 4-24x50mm. I'm testing one right now. It's a beautiful piece of machinery.

If you really wanted to test it's durability you would've put it on a FAL or SCAR.
