I bought different colored duct tape - one color for each room. Then on the tape I wrote what was in the box. So all the purple tape went to the bedroom and the yellow tape to the kitchen, etc. That way, no one had to read any labels and none of my boxes went to the wrong room. I read the labels and decided which boxes could wait until the next day. :) Thank goodness for duct tape!
Amanda Cromley you could also write the room so that people can read but don't have to. also if it's a small place you could just put a bit of the color tape on the door to the room things are going to
Amanda Cromley i know this was 4 years ago but you could at the front of the house or on the front door have a chart that says which color goes to which room so that when they walk in the house the just look and they dont have to walk to each room looking fir the color
clickerqueen as one of 4 kids and 2 parents their is a lot of boxes so i have used different color tape so i can just say to bring all the boxes with ______ tape to my room. I also gave written on the side what it is
Such useful time savers for a move and the idea of taking pictures of the electronic cables alone can save almost anyone hours of tears and aggravation! Love the WUM channel...you girls are amazing moms! Thank you for sharing all of your talents!
These are great tips! The painter's tape trick is genius. We moved to a different state when my oldest was 6 weeks old (and it was on New Year's Eve!). I still couldn't lift boxes. Also, your pantry is really tidy. I am super jealous of that.
Omg.... Love all the tips, especially the tv "selfie", having food already there, and bringing the kitchen with you. Makes me wanna move, just so I could put these fabulous tips to use! Beautiful home, btw! You're a gem, Brooke! Keep the tips coming!
Love your videos I'm only 14 but love diy videos because I baby sit a toddler. Also I'm a British viewer and thank you Louise sprinkle of glitter for sending me here haha love you guys
Your dog is so adorable!!! Thank you for all your tips and tricks. I am not a mom but I find your videos extremely entertaining and fun. I am a proud subscribers and LOVE your videos.
Love this channel and have been watching from the beginning. I love that I can go back to your older videos that apply to what's going on to my current life.
These tips are great! It sure makes sense to plan ahead with the 'moving calendar'! I always look forward to Friday for your vlog :) Keep 'em coming! 😊👍
I love you for posting this! You gave me a tip last week which I was so excited about and when I saw this on my feed I was even more so! I am a week away from our move so this gives me some extra motivation to get stuff done!
I am down sizing from a 2 bedroom apartment to a studio with a 4year with a ton of toys and accessories. I move in 6 days and I have just started to pack. your tips are really helpful
I have a tip for opening boxes when u put tape on the box get a sturdy piece of string and put it under the tape so when you go to peel off the tape it literally just takes seconds
I tired watching another channel before this one and almost gave up due to how annoying they sounded then I stumbled on your video ! It's so well done and well explained ! I'm in the middle of a moving atm and this is going to help me a lot xxxx thank you
omg...great tips...I am from India and we have 1 yr daughter..and we r moving in a week..and I found this video extremely useful..thanks a million..moving and shifting has become so easy and fun now..
I have moved a lot and my top two tips are: 1. Always unpack and make your beds as one of the FIRST things you do when you get to your new place. You always end up enthusiastically unpacking more than you can handle. Being able to crash is brilliant (rather than having to make your bed when you're exhausted). 2. Have one box of essentials to hand - plates, cutlery, cups and DON'T forget the toilet paper! Stash a roll in the bathroom as soon as you arrive.
thanks for all of the moving tips! I'm moving this weekend and have a 2 year old. I've lived in the same house my whole life (24 years) and have never moved before but my husband has. this was really helpful!
I am moving next week and I was looking at organisation vids i appreciated ur help especially as I have 3 other siblings . watching your vids help alot u dont understand how easy for me this is for me as I am going to have my own room thx guys ♥♥♥♥♥
yaiyy congrats~.... actually we Just moved this month to our first home as well..with 2 kids!!.. anyway seems i used a lot of these tips! ... main one was to make 4-5 trips with kitchen items, & food that was in the freezer & fridge (that was all taken by car trips).. other extra tips that might be helpful..(1) i used masking tape to write the name on the room on the box, just so i could use it again. I also adding labels (with tape) on the box for key things i might want, so i won't dig & open all the boxes... (chargers, hangers, bath rugs etc...).. (2) in one of these car trips I set up 1 bathroom, for taking a shower at the end of the day. Plus I separately packed 1 set of bed linens. (3) over lap a 1 week with the old apartment to allow time for cleaning the kitchen & to double..triple check you took everything!!... my girls enjoyed the moving day at the zoo.. so it was a win win!!... happy moving can't wait to see your tips on decor!!
Good thing you guys are here. Even though i am only 11,i watch this so when I have kids later on in my life i can remember this. Thanks You For Making Vids WhatsUpMoms!
so I am moving in a week and I have watched tons of tips on moving and this one was the best that helped me thank you whatsupmoms you just earned another subscriber
oh another tip for moving boxes, if u go to a McDonald's or any other fast food place u could go in and ask if there are any empty boxes they are getting rid of because I know that with McDonald they go through countless boxes of fries a day and then recycle them :)
Great tips! Thanks for sharing. This definitely helps as my family and I will be moving to a new place next month. New subscriber! Can't wait to check out your other videos. :)
Great tips! I move apartments this weekend! Eek! I don't have that much stuff (mainly just bedroom furniture and then kitchen plates and cooking supplies) but it's still pretty overwhelming.
You can also donate old clothes to hospitals! Sometimes different procedures require the clothing to be cut, and it becomes ruined. Some people either didn't bring clothes or don't have anyone to go get someone. So they rely on donated clothes to give to them.
Love the sunny and happy feel of your vids! definitely my new go-to for a little mom inspo/escapism. I wish I had awesome mom friends like you to make crafts with! So fun.
I luckily moved into a house before I had kids, but my friend is freaked out about moving. She has an eleven year old son and a six year old daughter. Forwarding this to her!
I'm actually moving tomorrow. Uhg. It's just from one apartment omplex to another across my unis campus (tiny town so the Uni is pretty much the center of it) and we signed our new lease a week early. This way we were able to move all our things on our own time instead of stressing trying to get it all done in one day.
thank you so much for the tips!! my family is moving to another house in a couple of weeks, and we haven't moved in 20 years!! so it will be a big move, thank you for the tips!! (:
I started packing all our books, DVd's and all the things we actually don't use on a daily basis two weeks in advance .... Leaving out 2 or 3 CDs and DVDs for my son and us. Winter clothes were packed ( we moved in August) the kitchen and bathroom were packed last min along with our clothes and toys but our paintings photo frames etc were carefully bubble wrapped 2 to 3 weeks in advance. The goal is to not be last min... Because this will stress you out. Ordering your boxes only a week in advance is very last min because you never know exactly how many boxes you ll need, usually you Don't have enough or don't have the right ones :) it's all very personal actually and depends on the amount of stuff you Need to move. But yes kids should stay away for 24h and packing should happen when They r sleeping or at daycare ;)
I'm thinking of doing this. Did anyone get confused or annoyed having to figure out which color went to which room?
Amanda Cromley you could also write the room so that people can read but don't have to. also if it's a small place you could just put a bit of the color tape on the door to the room things are going to
Amanda Cromley i know this was 4 years ago but you could at the front of the house or on the front door have a chart that says which color goes to which room so that when they walk in the house the just look and they dont have to walk to each room looking fir the color

I love you for posting this! You gave me a tip last week which I was so excited about and when I saw this on my feed I was even more so! I am a week away from our move so this gives me some extra motivation to get stuff done!

Simple Life Mama p
,,,
caution my opinion ahead
I hate when people say that their child is 24 months old. 2. your kid is 2
Snowy Stone it's mostly because there's such a difference between 1 year old to 2 years old :) so months give a more precise age
Ireland Blake I gave a caution
Mandi Romney awesome!! :)
Snowy Stone I know like can't you just say 2 instead of making your kids sound younger than they actually are 😐
Ginny Weasley Thank you. Someone who actually gets it
we are torwardsing the end of buying our first home and this is such a great help! Thank you!
in the beginning Dexter had serious slash eyes
Lol. Dexter totally looked like he was gonna pass out in the intro. 🤣🤣
Your dog is soooooooooooo cute
These are great tips! We are moving now so I'll use these! I'm not an adult, let me tell you, but I love to watch this channel!
Elle should do a house tour so should Meg and Brooke
You can also donate old clothes to hospitals!
Sometimes different procedures require the clothing to be cut, and it becomes ruined.
Some people either didn't bring clothes or don't have anyone to go get someone.
So they rely on donated clothes to give to them.
also go to grocery stores and ask for any cardboard boxes they don't need anymore, they will give them to you for free.

If you're out running errands you can also drop off unwanted things at most thrift stores.
This is great! I have watched this before but we are moving in 2 months and now I'm finding it so helpful. lol
I luckily moved into a house before I had kids, but my friend is freaked out about moving. She has an eleven year old son and a six year old daughter. Forwarding this to her!
Those are the best tips ever. This would do help us to decide what to do! Thanks.
Lincoln is one of the cutest babies I've ever seen 🙇🏼
This video excites me! When ever I do move, I will follow these tips! Perfect, thx!
I’m actually moving tomorrow and we have packed our whole house EXEPT our kitchen 🙌
Another trick I've learned is when your transferring plates put a disposable plate in the middle to "cushion" the plates so they don't break.
I started packing all our books, DVd's and all the things we actually don't use on a daily basis two weeks in advance .... Leaving out 2 or 3 CDs and DVDs for my son and us. Thank u so much!! I just moved to an apartment and this helped so much thanks!!
Glad the move went well! Hope to get a house tour one day ;)
