(also lmao I forgot the buff of it getting gen 3 thermals on its drone, I don't think there's a single drone in the entire US tech tree that gets better than gen 1)
one thing that I noticed while doing a test drive. The heat signature will go up with the ring, but it will be able to fire all rounds without over heating.
@JustinPlaysTV the radio on vehicles is more useful in arcade as it is what allows you to see the target spotted by your allies (the better the radio crew the further away from you you broadcast your intel). Although i'm not sure the radio destruction has any effect on that.
i never had issues destroying it before this update. but then again, it never had any issue at destroying me before this update. problem with the 2s38 is that its essentially one of those light vehicles with a big gun, except its gun reloads faster than anything else. even the Strf9040’s struggle to destroy things from the front and often don’t break barrels, and only one gets a aircraft lock on ability. this thing gets more pen, explosive mass on the rounds, proxy aa with aircraft lock on, a large first stage ammo rack, can destroy thing from the front fairly easily and on top of all that, an unmanned turret and its the same br as the Bradley ((if not lower cause the m3a3 is 10.3 and this was 10.0)). destroying it isn’t the issue. the issue is how effectively it can destroy you and break your gun with one to two shots then hammer you with its high pen fast reload APBC before you even get a chance.
if someone was driving around in a fully stabilised panzer 4 f2 that reloads every 0.5s and has 80 rounds at br 10.0, you’d say it was broken. easy to kill IF you shoot it, but broken. this thing is pretty much that, and more. its faster and has aircraft lock-on and proxy det rounds.
Being able to fire all of your ammo without waiting for your stowage to replenish is op. But I think if someone shoots your electronics component while you’re firing, you will not stop shooting until you repair it or until your ammo is gone. I’ve seen several 2S38’s now just keep firing nonstop for no reason after getting shot and it’s kind of funny. That’s the only possibility I can think of as to why that was happening.
Think that’s just dumb players shooting as much as possible hoping to hit something, electrical shot should stop turret traverse as it’s remote controlled,
TURMS and this thing both need to be at 10.3. There is no justification that they have an entire lineup at 10.0, that is equivalent or better than 10.3 lineups fighting the 11.3 squad vehicles/premiums.
Because of the current update there has been multiple times where I have stopped a 2S38 from killing me just by destroying the slab of electronics in the back of the turret. While they did change the autoloader to what it realistically should be, I would say that the internals have gave it a hard nerf
This exactly! I think it still does have an effect in GRB too, where you will see the arrows at the edge of your screen, and MAYBE some of the mini map icons. The "radio communication" crew skill talks more about what the effects are.
It's a solid buff, it had a 20 round mag so it would stop firing and need to reload, allowing it to be easily overwhelmed if they aren't a great shot or was wasting shots beforehand, now they just keep blasting
I deleted my previous comment thinking it was nerfed, it isn't, it's not right that you can keep firing every shell you have even when your gun overheats, I get it's a premium but damn this thing neds to be balanced, it's not like people will not buy it and or won't play it.
@@qFamop that is because it literally can not overheat. Your firing rate slows down for like 10 shots by around 20% and then it goes back to normal. Every other gun needs to "reload" for 20-40s before being able to fire again
Meanwhile they buff those vehicles while the Swedish light tanks wich suppost to have a fast load or a anti missle system never get fixed(edit and I forgot to mention there stabilizers, or could we aswel say how less chanc you have to ammo rack a T type tank due to the ammo rack .. meanwhile blowoutpannels still wonky)
Improved firepower but I mean… the 20 round ready rack was already more than enough, and now it’s even less survivable than it was. It’s not like you can even hide the hull because you have no gun depression to use hull down tactics. Definitely still a good vehicle, but I wouldn’t take it over the 9040 BILL or depending on the situation, the BMP-2M. To this day I don’t understand why people over-blow its strength massively. It’s a glass cannon, like most other light tank. It’s low key more difficult to not to instantly cripple these things.
Playing against those things while using Germann Tech Tree at 10.0 is a pain in the ass. Imagine facing that thing head on and what you are gonna do, you don't have armor.
That’s a buff. If you flank or play passive, damaged model won’t change anything. However, the 140+ rack is changing how you can switch target and do multiple frags
Well tbh when you play this thing, the name of the game is not get shot at so having more modules that can be damage really doesn’t mean much when you try not to get hit anyway. But add to that, you now get practically no first stage ammo, so together it’s actually more broken

If you don't get shot (which you don't typically) then you won't notice the 'nerfs'. I think the biggest thing that made this BS before was the ability for it to 'tank' shots and not blow up.
There is a feature in arcade which requires radio, in realistic it seems to make it so you can scout things not in your sights, but seen by allies for 3 seconds.
i think gaijin doesn't change anything on the radio module, i was thinking if your radio module is destroyed you will not received or sent a scout mark and ping from the mini map
Having your radio damaged could be implemented by not being able to spot enemy, or see enemy spotted by team mates & not receiving the directional info about enemy aircraft.
Currently it does actually make scouting slightly harder, i think, because radio skills make it so you can spot enemies spotted by allies, but not in your line of sight, but i still think that the idea of fully being incapable of scouting would be nice. Also, what if you couldn’t see your alies on the map? Enemy hit marks from allies? So forth
Brother, I bring this thing to 11.7. Def not first spawn, but it's a bench warmer for sure. Haven't played it yet with the new details though. Taking a bit of a break.
Pretty sure the radio is used for showing enemies pos on the mini map. Like an enemy close to ally but not you, but you see the enemy on the mini map because of its proximity to your ally.. if this at all makes sense to people. Sorry not great explanation I'm sure. Hope it helps a bit

Yeah, I have seen a couple 10.0 games without the 2S38 sonce the T-80UD got added, but it's been literally like 2 games. Also Russian 10.0 is so full of premiums (and the BMP-2M) that it's the most played nation at that BR and so like 60% of my matches at that BR are mixed gamss

the tank is real, but its made for engaging drones and isn't even in service yet (and probably never will be seeing russia's track record of getting anything brand new into service) it is correct that the stats are basically fiction though, but even reading what wiki says should have it at 11.0 at least
I saw a few youtubers do a dive on the Abrams DU hull problem, and the only thing they could find was a paper from the CBO, which sourced random websites. Another source say there is DU in the hull which is correct, but only five DU hulls were made. and technically, every tanks stats are fiction, because Gaijin runs a simulation for each round to test how much pen they have.

Also on page 95 of the CBO documents you mentioned you can directly see the changes made to each version of the abrams. M1A1 AIM - Heavy armour (the name for gen 1 DU armour) added to Hull and turret. M1A2 Sep - Gen 2 depleted uranium armour Etc. Gaijins claim that the M1 doesn't have DU rests on an unsorted claim that DU in the front would overload and break the torsion bar. Bear in mind this would require an intimate knowledge of the torsion bar, which Gaijin does not have access to as it is classified.

He uses published documents and isn’t a bad source, but the thing is Gary even says that the hill never had DU. So while yes maybe it was planned, no nothing ever came out of it. The army is very conscious about the Abrams weight already, and the need for DU in the hull isn’t really needed IRL. Even in war thunder, DU wouldn’t stop any top tier round from going through
I wish you could take off the useless armour on the sides, the reason why you can't is because it's classified, but IRL it's most likely filled with Styrofoam or egg cartons in traditional Russian fashion, so they have no idea how much it weighs or how effective it is.
I think the PVO is more skill dependent now, because you can't play it as a MBT (like how a lot of players play it) without being evaporated by an enemy. But on the other hand, if you play it like a support or a sniper, the full autoloader transforms the PVO into a death machine. So yeah, with all those modules, the 2S38 is not for new players.
Hmmm not a 100% sure but you would think destroying the Radio Station would prevent the use of arty and would reduce or completely disable seeing enemies on the minimap. But i cant say i have experienced this since i can pretty much count on one hand how many times i noticed my radio being destroyed.

This vehicle shouldn't have been added, simply because gaijin has no way to balance it that doesn't end up with it broken or nearly useless. The 2S38 doesn't have a ready rack at all irl, it's one straight belt of 57mm, gaijin was just too lazy to remove the ready rack but was willing to fix it to how it is irl anyway, the pontoons are also removable irl so we got that to look forward to. Moreover gaijin reclassified the vehicle from it's original name "Деривация ПВО" ("Derivation SPAA") to "2s38 the light tank", why? I have no idea, but it's like that.
Technically no. It is still a carousel so it can move to rotate the chosen ammo to the feed ramp. This is actually more sense than the previous belt system

I also love 10 - 10.3, perfect happy place for stridsfordon & chill thing is; A 2S38 hull down is a problem for even the 9040, that thing is a goddamn *demon* in the right hands and right map. I've had plenty of matches where one starts popping people right outside of spawn and then half the team has to dedicate 5-10 minutes to keeping them suppressed while 2 bumrush and kill them before doing anything else that match.
The new autoloader is absolutely broken. I used to average 1-3 kills per game, then I went to record a video of the 2S38 myself and almost instantly got a 7-kill game. I tried to record it before the patch and the thing actually got buffed really hard, not nerfed
Penning MBTs from the front, whats the point of MBTs then they have no advantage to the 2S38, both thermals, 2S has drone with thermal, 2S can lock planes with radar, 2S faster and armor doesnt matter
Tbh those vehicles need their BR lowering. The Otomatic cannot compete with the SAMs at 11.7....its a 5th wheel. The HSTV-L has a very limited ammunition compliment and is apparently missing ammunition types. The New Booker LT should take the 11.7 light tank spot

In Arcade battles the destruction of the radio station causes a loss of marked vehicles on the minimap and screen. Until it is repaired.

Don't think it's gonna change it from being the most broken vehicle in the game but one can hope.
FPV drones would make an interesting case study for the armies around the world, see how players shift the meta to combat that.

Besides, most of them have more gun depression, firerate, survivability. If you've ever played the 2s38 you'd realize the bmp2m does the exact same thing and more minus the proxy rounds.

I mean, saying the 2s38 got buffed because of the modules might make more sense if they buffed any of the other vehicles that got modules, but they didnt, and it really didnt need the buff so idk why they decided that that was a good idea

Yeah, I have seen a couple 10.0 games without the 2S38 sonce the T-80UD got added, but it's been literally like 2 games. Also Russian 10.0 is so full of premiums (and the BMP-2M) that it's the most played nation at that BR and so like 60% of my matches at that BR are mixed gamss
I dont want fpv drones but, seeing as how small heat performs especially grenade size ones, they'd be dam near usless, and give them realistic aim like atgms

What was the autoloader first ammo storage befor? like 35? I think I've hardly ever had any problems with a shortage of ammunition in this thing.

This tank is pure fiction, yet Gaijin claim that the Abrams doesn't have DU armour in the hull because it would break the transmission (which sources actually show is completely false). Absolute clowns.
the tank is real, but its made for engaging drones and isn't even in service yet (and probably never will be seeing russia's track record of getting anything brand new into service)
it is correct that the stats are basically fiction though, but even reading what wiki says should have it at 11.0 at least
I saw a few youtubers do a dive on the Abrams DU hull problem, and the only thing they could find was a paper from the CBO, which sourced random websites. Another source say there is DU in the hull which is correct, but only five DU hulls were made. and technically, every tanks stats are fiction, because Gaijin runs a simulation for each round to test how much pen they have.
@@le_duckygang_7763 There are literally amendments to the US army documents that Gaijin use stating that provided the US army an unlimited US on DU Hull inserts instead of just the 5 made.
Also on page 95 of the CBO documents you mentioned you can directly see the changes made to each version of the abrams.
M1A1 AIM - Heavy armour (the name for gen 1 DU armour) added to Hull and turret.
M1A2 Sep - Gen 2 depleted uranium armour

Gaijins claim that the M1 doesn't have DU rests on an unsorted claim that DU in the front would overload and break the torsion bar. Bear in mind this would require an intimate knowledge of the torsion bar, which Gaijin does not have access to as it is classified.

He uses published documents and isn’t a bad source, but the thing is Gary even says that the hill never had DU. So while yes maybe it was planned, no nothing ever came out of it. The army is very conscious about the Abrams weight already, and the need for DU in the hull isn’t really needed IRL. Even in war thunder, DU wouldn’t stop any top tier round from going through

I wish you could take off the useless armour on the sides, the reason why you can't is because it's classified, but IRL it's most likely filled with Styrofoam or egg cartons in traditional Russian fashion, so they have no idea how much it weighs or how effective it is.
I think the PVO is more skill dependent now, because you can't play it as a MBT (like how a lot of players play it) without being evaporated by an enemy. But on the other hand, if you play it like a support or a sniper, the full autoloader transforms the PVO into a death machine. So yeah, with all those modules, the 2S38 is not for new players.

Hmmm not a 100% sure but you would think destroying the Radio Station would prevent the use of arty and would reduce or completely disable seeing enemies on the minimap. But i cant say i have experienced this since i can pretty much count on one hand how many times i noticed my radio being destroyed.

If the ''nerf'' is something you have to hit in order to affect this thing its really not a great nerf, instead it got stronger with full ammo count available. that being said im gonna buy this thing to have something else than turms,bmp2m and su25k in my lineup
This vehicle shouldn't have been added, simply because gaijin has no way to balance it that doesn't end up with it broken or nearly useless.
The 2S38 doesn't have a ready rack at all irl, it's one straight belt of 57mm, gaijin was just too lazy to remove the ready rack but was willing to fix it to how it is irl anyway, the pontoons are also removable irl so we got that to look forward to.
Moreover gaijin reclassified the vehicle from it's original name "Деривация ПВО" ("Derivation SPAA") to "2s38 the light tank", why? I have no idea, but it's like that.

Technically no. It is still a carousel so it can move to rotate the chosen ammo to the feed ramp. This is actually more sense than the previous belt system

thing is; A 2S38 hull down is a problem for even the 9040, that thing is a goddamn *demon* in the right hands and right map. I've had plenty of matches where one starts popping people right outside of spawn and then half the team has to dedicate 5-10 minutes to keeping them suppressed while 2 bumrush and kill them before doing anything else that match.

The new autoloader is absolutely broken. I used to average 1-3 kills per game, then I went to record a video of the 2S38 myself and almost instantly got a 7-kill game.
I tried to record it before the patch and the thing actually got buffed really hard, not nerfed
Penning MBTs from the front, whats the point of MBTs then they have no advantage to the 2S38, both thermals, 2S has drone with thermal, 2S can lock planes with radar, 2S faster and armor doesnt matter

Tbh those vehicles need their BR lowering. The Otomatic cannot compete with the SAMs at 11.7....its a 5th wheel. The HSTV-L has a very limited ammunition compliment and is apparently missing ammunition types. The New Booker LT should take the 11.7 light tank spot

It’s really that simple. Even if you only see the gun, just…..shoot it. You’ll either ammo rack it or disable it
