01:11 - I too am a fan of the old wood cabinet console TV's. My parents had a monster that was long as a sofa and had retractable doors -back when you actually turned it off when entertaining guests. The oldest I had was 3 1/2 foot cube of a 70's zenith with an ultrasonic remote and a weird zoom feature. It took 3 of us to get it into the dumpster when it gave out in '95
Man, that takes me back. With all that wood and heavy arse CRT was pain in the rear to move when my mom wanted to vacuum the carpet. We also had a sofa-sized stereo. It was a Magnavox with a tuner and turntable on the right side with a bay on the left side to store records. It had two sliding doors on top giving access to one side at a time. My mom said they purchased in '71/'72 but I see a lot were made in the '60s. I search the internet and I can't believe I found the _exact_ design we had. I uploaded to Imgur i.imgur.com/QhDDBrn.jpg though the source was Pinterest www.pinterest.com/pin/253890497717097856/
+Johnny Yuma my parents had a kind of different setup- the tv was below- tv in the middle, speakers on either side, ( concealed behind pleated, burgundy crushed velvet screens) with a hutch that contained the tuner/ turntable sitting on top, like an armoire. ( total about six foot at the pediment of the hutch) The tuner was cool, in that it had a chart that as you cranked the dial, a vertical and a horizontal bar moved diagonally across a frequency chart like a bomb sight( to my 4-5 year old mind).
Mike Troncin Ha, that tuner sounds like a cool concept. I would not have enjoyed trying to move that console as it seems like it was awfully heavy. How long did they keep it? We kept ours until mid-to-late '70s and then gave it to my grandma.
+Johnny Yuma sorry didn't realize you asked the last question..... She still has it. Everything but the picture tube works, it went in the late 80's. I guess I'll I 'inherit' it one day
Supe's voice is heard at the end of the Provimi Veal ad and the ending v/o for the Transfer Magic ad was former longtime Cleveland Radio/TV announcer, Ted Alexander.
Death Valley does indeed look epic. "Now kid, stay away from the diabeet-us....." The ad and logo for WLTF-FM looked *exactly* the same as those for WNSR-FM in New York. They were both soft rock stations around the same time period, and both stations flipped to a "Mix" format with similar callsigns around the same time (WMXV in New York, WMVX in Cleveland)
Super host !!! Big chuck little John. Nostalgic sadness !!!

That Burger King breakfast am commercial though. My mom would always get me the french toast sticks after P.T.
The chimes in the Superhost music are stuck in my mind!

As for the Transfer Magic, no, those became permanent transfers, not just Iron-ons. I made a mistake on one that I was never able to get out.
If you watch carefully between 07:00 and 07:30 they subtly bring Tom Harmon's 1940 Heisman trophy in to dead center screen then pan back
+Mike Troncin If I had won one I'd flaunt the hell out of it too
I was surprised to see the varied characters in his family- Ricky Nelson, John DeLorean , Pam Dawber- family gatherings must have been interesting
12:52 - Because tough guys have names like Hickey!!
I forgot all about Goldrush bars!
01:58 - Chagrin Blvd... Just off disappointment lane
Anthony's Fine Dining is still there!
the kid in the regina steamer ad was dressed like chucky but in yellow not blue
Yea Death Valley was a good movie(Peter Billingsley's acting debut)
That Glaucoma PSA kind of looked like a horror movie trailer in itself
