The best bacon and egg pies are with the eggs scrambled
I agree. Just never know where to find them until, by luck, I bite into one and see that the eggs are scrambled. Scrambled is best, because the egg is equally distributed around the pie. If it’s just one whole egg, you aren’t going to get any egg flavour when you bight into just the egg white!

on behalf of nz i recommend going to point england bakery in glen innes east side because they the best piesss ever i alsp recommend getting pizza pie, butter chicken pie, a bacon and egg quiche and a kebab they are the best

Unfortunately it’s hard to find a decent pie in australia anymore, pastie and sausage rolls too. So I make my own now. My pies are better than any I’ve had in years.

Living in the South Island, i would honestly recommend trying. The Butchers Pie Shop in River Side Market Christchurch or Fat Bastard Pies in Invercargill.

Next visit to Auckland bro, you gotta go to the Blue Rose Cafe in Sandringham. Their pies are soo yum. Gotta try their Palusami pies (corned beef and taro), but make sure to go early in the day, before they sell out 😆. I find the Lemon Meringue Pies too sweet for my liking. A custard pie (with a sweet short pastry base, maybe like your "gram crackers"🤔) is much nicer, especially when chilled.

New Zealand pies and Aussie pies are very similar. You can get some pies in LA at bronzed Aussie or in Chicago at Barangaroos Aussie pies
