What do you think of the rotisserie chicken from Costco?

If it lasts as long as you say, no need to worry about bacteria. The chemicals will kill you.

The answer is four days, in case you came here from a Google search

It’s good to know that Costco rotisserie chicken has its own set of rules for food storage. These are such unique ideas! I’ve been keeping it on top of my toilet tank for up to a month, until now. I won’t be doing THAT again!

I used to buy these a lot. These rotisserie chickens can be super high in sodium, cholesterol and preservatives. I buy ground turkey now instead, it's just as high in protein lower in sodium and calories than chicken.

My rule for cooked food is eat within for up to 3 days then freeze it or toss it. Fresh chicken or ground beef must be used within 24 hours or freeze or cook it.

Also I use a vacuum sealer. So the food can stay in the freezer for more than a year as long as the vacuum seal is still sealed.

Keep the fridge at 35 degrees for the best results at keeping food fresher.

I just ate some Costco rotisserie chicken that I bought on Christmas eve that was stored in a Tupperware in the fridge. Still tasted fine & was still juicy & delicious.

Common sense really. It also depends what bacteria were cross contaminated onto the cooked chicken before you bought it.

Here’s a hot tip. Smell it! If 5 day old chicken makes you sick, you’re weak, and need to strengthen your gut biome. You can always throw into a soup, if you’re worried about a lil bacteria…. If you don’t trust your own sense of smell, trust boiling water or a high heat

Dont worry....the Costco chickens are a 1/3 the size they used to be. It won't last more then 3 days so don't worry about it.

What I'd like to know is why would you want to keep a Costco rotisserie chicken in the refrigerator for 4 days?

  • @ericriffel8954

Easy. When it's green and smells like a$$, throw it away, or feed it to your neighbor's dog that barks all night.
