I am using scr 250 ampere for DC motor 200ampere load
Exact Snubber calculation design is done based on so many system factor like, voltage , voltage fluctuation, frequency variations, control system concept, protection, thyrisor specifications, transformer specifications, loads, cooling concept etc. All parameter are simulated in MATLAB ( or some other sofware) and study is done.
sir voltage is 440 vac and thyristor is dcr804
Sir, I am using a 3 phase contactor to switch a 25kvar capacitor at 440V(33A at 440V), can u suggest the right values of capacitor and resistance that can be used as a snubber to supress arc
Snubber may not work here as contactor contact voltage may be double 880 volts sometimes. Watch my video, why discharge or bleeder resistor across capacitor.

your fast response will be highly appreciate
1- Thyristor or triac are not used to perfeclly switch off. A mechanical switch is to be used to switch off.
2- Any way if you want switch off then, you have to short gate and cathode. ( this is only for practical but should not be used for normal working)

Hello sir, in 12v dc system I can use the snubber in a switch to avoid arcing? If yes then there is any voltage/current loss?
arcing still will be there. If load is inductive then it may reduce over voltage across switch during switching off.

I am using Esp32 to trigger relay(active low). In circuit, using opto-coupler pc817 and bc547 transistor. My problem is this whenever relay stuck in ON Status while Esp32 send command in absolutely right. What is the reason and how can be solved.
