I used to feel it was so important to be like everyone else; to fit in and not stand out. Through high school in particular, I became a chameleon, able to adapt to my environment seamlessly. Literally one day, I just decided I didn't want to do that anymore, and I've never looked back. This song speaks to me strongly. Dear Julia, lovely tribute to those of us who are different. In most of my years being different was difficult. Being different does not mean there is something wrong with us. But unfortunately, many with less character (difference) seem to be unable to recognize what a dull world it would be if we were all the same. My childhood was difficult but what you have shared causes me to realize that many are so very much more difficult. There is no shame in being different especially if you are KIND. It's so sad that being kind often causes us to be "Another Kind". As I have learned who you are I realize how very kind you are!👏👏💖🤗
So true what you say Alan 🤗💖 When we embrace ourselves it can come with many goodbye's as people love a people-pleaser who never make a fuss, who doesn't have a voice nor objections. Many people like to dominate others, gets off to be in control of another living. Breaking free can leave us "lonely", but lonely is way better than being surrounded by people who only hurts us. Being able to be alone with ourselves and make friends with ourselves is the best way to come to terms with who we really are, what we like, what we want, what we feel, what we need. Like you, like me, I know we both always been loner-wolfs who rather spend time alone than with others due to diverse reasons. Our past shape us, absolutely. But our past doesn't decide our future nor does it take our strength away from us, only if we let it, only if we let them. Kindness comes from a place of hurt that never want to let anyone else feel that pain ever you've endured.

Agreed I have felt like an alien misfit my entire life, I've always been alone and single and I don't see that changing anytime soon. This song was vary deep.
