Thank you that was an excellently practical Music Theory lesson!!! So amazing how the Creator of the Universe made it so that in any specific Key (ie, C) you can Pair all the chords in that Key (ie, C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am, Bo) to a 7th-Chord (ie, G7, A7, B7, C7, D7, E7, F7) which can be located by counting 5 notes away! Mind-blowing 🤯 I appreciate you sharing this secret of the universe :)
I'll be watching this at least a couple more times, guitar in hand. Thank you! And I love elixir strings! Put some on my guitar last June and they lasted through December. I've never had strings last that long. And I love Scott Joplin too!
Sean most definitely I use the nano Web phosphor Brown on both of my tailors 814, and my 314, love your tutorials, Sean I am the Blind guy from Northern California like I always say to you you’re the top dog of tutorials here, man, Keep explaining the way you do it you do an awesome job for us that are blind we could definitely understand what you’re talking about man
Sean, you call it a Bm flat 7 referring specifically to the B note (and the tonic of this chord) as the seventh interval in a C major scale. But it's not truly a "seventh" chord, as you called it, due to the lack of a flat seventh note layered upon the Bm triad, right?
Hey, you'll get a kick out of this. Last week I was looking online for guitars, and had eaten a new edible. Two days later FedEx shows up box, I opened it and lo and behold there was a Gibson box, I was like "wait, what?" I checked my email and saw the purchase confirmation the time was about 3 hours later though. Then I realized I bought the Hummingbird Studio Rosewood in satin rosewood burst. Now I'm afraid to open the box. But the real dilemma isn't the price, nope, I took the payments, so no big deal. However, the question is can would my wife believe that it was my old Epiphone Hummingbird, or will she notice the lack of the butterfly?
Sean I love your teaching style, add a sense of humor with the lesson! I am into the different voicings in my guitar journey. This lesson adding the flat 7 is so awesome. Does it matter where you place the flat 7 in your chord progression? Curious question your not making money with your UA-cam videos? Awesome that you praised God for your sponsor in your video (acknowledge Him in all your ways). I pray He opens your 💜 to receive all that is there for you to receive in the name of Jesus.
Sean, you are the man! I discovered this late in the game, but I’m definitely glad you are sharing it with folks just starting out.

In addition to Dom. 7, I also, at times, just use the good old major chord.
F into Bm7b5 works well

Rockin' the D18 with Elixir strings spankin' mad riffs avec la veste l'extraordinaire Lacoste - Fou Feu !!
Very beautiful lessons My friend ❤❤❤❤
So are you saying instead of playing the diminished chord, you can just flatten it and use it in your chord progressions?

Seems like replacing the Dm with the Bb added another 4to1 change, Bb to F to C. Reverse of adding extra 5 to 1 changes? Thanks for posting

Best to…
Don’t hide new guitars from your wife!
You work big boy? You make some money? Put your wife in the box and return her. Keep the Hummingbird.
You're welcome
I love your lessons Sean. Almost as much as your opening jokes. 😁
I still don't understand guess I'll never get anywhere
