Me too Jim, that was a fantastic night, I think the CD was around 65 minutes long and they played for 2 hours that night at the Tabernacle off of that one album and they only played one extra song, I had taken the next day off ahead of time which was kind of cool because it started snowing the next day and I was still on cloud nine from the night before.
This band is perfect. Step 1 - Dave Grohl, one of the greatest drummers and songwriters ever Step 2 - Josh Homme - The modern Elvis Step 3 - John Paul Jones - A great bassist from the greatest classic rock band of all time, Led Zeppelin.
Dave is NOT one of the greatest songwriters. Josh Jomme is actually a much better songwriter. Even John Paul Jones has written better songs. Dave is only a great drummer.
@@smkxodnwbwkdns8369 thats harsh. Dave is a fantasic songwriter. The "greatest" is a bit of hyperbole but to say he isnt good is ignorant imo. All 3 are extremely multi-talented musicians.
@@samod7550 all of his songs were tailor made for pop radio consumption. They are all melancholic pop rock ballads without any depth. He’s a competent songwriter I’d say but I would never intentionally listen to the foo fighters .
You can really tell Jonesy is enjoying himslef with the younger musicians. I'm sure it's really adding 10 years to his life if they're no drugs involved
"It only made sense that I try to get two of my favourite musicians to come together and jam with me" "They couldn't make it" "So I got john and Josh" LOL
Officer Tacos They entered the studio once the tour was over apparently. However seems JPJ is the reason they are no longer considering it. Homme sold the TCV tour cases months ago.
The last 10 years have flown by. Anyway I recently started listening to the work Jones did with Led Zeppelin and trying to assimilate some of it into my own bass playing. I gotta say he's a very creative and damn funky bassist. A lot of James Jamerson in his playing. I suspect he listens to some Stax and Motown records
i guess dave is the leader here because he make it but jpj has more experience or josh is the leader cause he sings and play guitar the o nly thing i know is that daves leader is the coffee
@tryitwustyle That's a bit unrealistic. It's John Paul Jones. And Josh Homme. And Dave Grohl. The three of them together in a band. Of course there are drugs involved.
That Josh actually thinks TCV is "Avant Garde" rock music is telling at just how mainstream rock music has become these days - there's nothing remotely Avant Garde about QOTSA or TCV ... try early Birthday Party or PIL for that and work your way backwards. What they do is middle of the road rock n roll by any standards of the past - they're, dare I say it, pop rock ... and not much else.
It's crazy to think how polite, well mannered and quiet JPJ is. He's not even in the spotlight here and he's legendary.
Smartest man in the room
Damn JPJ looks so good for his age. What an incredible group. I was so lucky to see them live in Atlanta back in 2010.

poor john holding the mic for dave the whole time hahah
at 6.52 he finally got rid of it hehehe..

hear me out imagine we got one more them crooked vultures album w jpj and then they jam with les claypool
Definitely not the greatest rock band ever I'm sorry so many better bands out there.
you have to be musician enough to have JPJ hold a mic for u
no he isn't LOL and he's known for it, he's a bad ass that has no filter!! he does and says whatever he wants and does not care!!
@@jtucker813 what
Liam S looks like someone’s removed a comment
I can't stop laughing at how JPJ holds that mic Lol what a guy!
John Paul Jones is so cute! He seems so humble and fits right in with those guys.
Eveything the other two are saying, JPJ: Done that 40 years ago.
He's a better
all around musician than those other 2 combined
and he has a comedic wit.
Does he play bass?
I didn't know Mr. Jones was that funny and he reminds me to Colin Greenwood.
I thought the same thing
You should hear him on on an old Letterman appearance w jp and rp.
Cracks everyone up
Its wierd cause JPJ is a god and he is just sat there all quiet
bass players are mellow, and he has nothing to prove at all
"this is obviously not a 1 album project" goddamnit you spoiled it
When are we getting a follow up? 😔
Still waiting
You can really tell Jonesy is enjoying himslef with the younger musicians. I'm sure it's really adding 10 years to his life if they're no drugs involved
He wasn't quite the druggy...ever
@@JoeandAngie you're absolutely correct
JPJ doesnt look that old in comparisson to Jimmy or Robert. Hes aged well, although out of the whole group in Zeppelin he was probably the most sober.
Idk about that,JPJ did more drugs and alcohol after zeppelin, it’s genes more than anything
How many people could get a living legend (JPJ... like he only played bass in Led Zep after all) to hold a microphone for them... Nice going Dave...
the best supergroup of 2009 and were of course amazing in concert
.....10 years later. Still waiting.
14 years now😭😂
Dave Grohl: Family man, great fucking rock n roller, coffee enthusiast.
Slash's kids and Grohl's kids go to the same school?

I SCREAAAMED.OMG.
LOOK AT THE VERY END WHEN JONESY GOES WIGGLE HIS HEAD LILKSEIJLISFJDKLD
9 MONTHS LATER AND I STILL LOVE T HIS SO MUCH
Yeah
I love how Dave and John have to share a mic.
"It only made sense that I try to get two of my favourite musicians to come together and jam with me"
"They couldn't make it"
"So I got john and Josh"
LOL
' thats quite a salad you got there Dave' Absolutely floored me! 5:18
Did he reply with TOSS IT! or am I hearing things?
OMG...John Paul Jones AND Dave Grohl .....I think I'm gonna die!!!
Where's the second album
It's a mystery to me because I remember TCV saying they want to make a second record after this one came out.
Junt Cuice josh has said it's a matter of everyone's schedules lining up again. I'm waiting too man
Jake, Murray, Junt, there is more chance you three guys end up meeting without knowing each other than a 2nd TCV effort.
Officer Tacos They entered the studio once the tour was over apparently. However seems JPJ is the reason they are no longer considering it. Homme sold the TCV tour cases months ago.
Office Tacos Hope that as well. If both tours end at the same time its up to JPJ. If he is available and willing to.
''an air mattress filled with coffee'' hahaha Josh is hilarious.
finally an interview when they're not drunk
I love this interview
Where the fuck are all these schools with kids with famous dads, there must be loads but I haven't heard of one
I’d say Them Crooked Vultures and Mad Season are my fav super groups of all time..
Band Of The Legends
They were soooo sick at Coachella! JPJ played a diff bass every song!
it was such a good concert and i think better than when i saw them at the 02 birmingham!!! some great extended tracks.loving dave and josh
What a super inspirational video about how to be a rock star! Dig it.
6:45 josh and jpj are still just little kids inside arent they lmao
I really would hope to see a Zeppelin reunion and a world tour
WTF!! they dont get another micro to Grohl??
JPJ is like: "damn my arm's tired.."LOL
incredible concert!!
My girlfriend always keep saying that Dave Grohl is so hot. And she's not wrong.
I dig Josh's hair for some damn reason...new haircut idea?
Don't forget about Alain Johannes!!
@the black circle, have you checked out his solo work there's some funky tunes on a couple of his solo projects
My ears are ringing thinking about it
JPJ: (sits quietly while Dave and Josh talk)
Comment Section: HOLY $#!T It's JPJ!!!!!
"27 after 58 in the hour".
I laughed.
I waited outside the Albert Hall for 3 hours for Davey G to come... he never did. So THIS is what they were doing. Damn them...
everybody gets one man crush.... mine is Dave Grohl mans a fuckin legend
Beyond word I love them...beyond words LOL. lol.
What the hell happened to that second album😭😭😭😭
@Floskeknosk She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not wrong.
@PAULOcbi that would be dave AND homme, dave wrote most of foo fighters songs, while the same's with homme and queens, they're both cool songwriters
They had their calenders out and no time untill.. 2021?
i guess dave is the leader here because he make it
but jpj has more experience
or josh is the leader cause he sings and play guitar
the o nly thing i know is that daves leader is the coffee
ha, johns daves mic man!
Josh looks like Hades no joke, give him blue fire hair and thats fuckin Hades
@Stonehenge442
you must be mistaken. i'm assuming you meant to put, "josh"
@xshaman100
Watch "It might get loud". Maybe he's not as good as he used to be, but he still is one of the greatest alive.
Why didn't they also invite Jimmy Page to join as well as JPJ?
@PAULOcbi haha, you just said QOTSA were mainstream. Was that sarcasm?
@tryitwustyle That's a bit unrealistic. It's John Paul Jones. And Josh Homme. And Dave Grohl. The three of them together in a band. Of course there are drugs involved.
3:55 cracks me up.
"Thats quite a salad you get there Dave" haha
@PAULOcbi
Josh Homme...
ps; just because something isnt mainstream doesnt make it any less great
so the rhythm section shares a mic :p
The 2 mirrors are for dave
@snowtamusic Can't argue with that!
where's alain!!!!!!!!!!!
Alain was just a Live Guest. He actually didn't participate on Album
he did
FRESH POTS!
I'd definetely hook up my mom with JPJ.
Why John dont talk's ???
@AmuseMe543 totally agree man.
@jeevsrocks I'm both. And still neither.
thats quite a salad you've got there dave
6:45 lol
ELVIS HAIR WIN
Is it me or Josh Homme looks like a blond Elvis?
nassosa Elvis was a natural blonde. He dyed his hair
Hahaha, FRESH POTS was TRUE! =D
@AmuseMe543 wating light is awesome mate. check it out
@gutaschlussel lol
@PAULOcbi I disagree
lol, 4:17 - 4:29
And weren't they good!!!!
I really could care less for Dave, really I just like watching Josh Homme talk cause he manages to keep it interesting.
I'm still a little bit deaf from the concert.
legalize lsd and make coffee illegal
Dave's best work is as a drummer. In my opinion FF is meh.
@Floskeknosk are you a lesbian? or gay?
jk jk
