Hello mam. Primitive Unit Cell Means constituent particles are present only on the Corner position of the unit cell. As you told that Primitive cell classified into 7 categories & That 7 are-(1)Cubic (2)Tetragonal (3)Orthorhombic (4)Hexagonal (5)Rhombohedral (6)Monoclinic (7)Triclinic But in these 7 crystal system Constituent particles present in both Corner position as well as body center, Face center and End-Center.So How these Seven belong to Primitive Unit Cell. Can you tell me? Edit-Check Time 41:23
This is because,If You observe carefully , you will notice that all unit cells are primitive unit cells too ,as all units cells have atoms at the corners ,even body centred and face centred unit cells have 1 atom shared at 8 corners and additionally have more atoms at centre /face etc
@@samriddhi0906 Sorry to say but i think you didn't understand my question. How a Body center belongs to a Primitive unit cell? According to definition Primitive means only atoms at corners. A BCC contains atoms at Corner as well as at Body. So how a Bcc belongs to Primitive?

Hello mam. Primitive Unit Cell Means constituent particles are present only on the Corner position of the unit cell.
As you told that Primitive cell classified into 7 categories & That 7 are-(1)Cubic
(2)Tetragonal
(3)Orthorhombic
(4)Hexagonal
(5)Rhombohedral
(6)Monoclinic
(7)Triclinic
But in these 7 crystal system Constituent particles present in both Corner position as well as body center, Face center and End-Center.So How these Seven belong to Primitive Unit Cell. Can you tell me?
Edit-Check Time 41:23
Ya that's a Right Question? Am also confused on this.
This is because,If You observe carefully , you will notice that all unit cells are primitive unit cells too ,as all units cells have atoms at the corners ,even body centred and face centred unit cells have 1 atom shared at 8 corners and additionally have more atoms at centre /face etc
Simply body, face and end centred unit cells are variants of primitive unit cells
@@samriddhi0906 Sorry to say but i think you didn't understand my question. How a Body center belongs to a Primitive unit cell? According to definition Primitive means only atoms at corners. A BCC contains atoms at Corner as well as at Body. So how a Bcc belongs to Primitive?
ultra legends are starting to learn now, on 13th December before cbse class 12 chemistry board exam, including myself!
