I've learned to never purchase a light color rug. Man that was so freaking impossibly dirty. I wonder how many hours this actually took... it absolutely explains the price of rug cleaning though, wow.
It made me appreciate the work and made me both sensible to the pricing and the amount of care a rug can take. Unfortunately, you can buy cheap industrial rugs that cost less than cleaning the whole 6 square metres so people won't bother supporting a craftsman but just discard the original one and buy a new one. It is the same for textiles and shoes nowadays...
Idk I prefer lighter rugs so I can actually see the dirt, my carpet is dark and patterned, whilst it’s not easy to see dirt and stains, It is a nightmare for whenever I need to spot clean it.
Someone said they didn't like the use of the rake, I really like that, it's a nice contrast to the other methods and seems to give a final ''combing' to get the last of the dirt out. Hard work, well done!
The color of this rug was weird! The lighter coloed end still seemed dirty or stained. When you did the water right at first and not much dirt came out i thought it either needed to soak or it wasn't as dirty as it looked. Tough job with the different height of the rug.
It looks like that end of the rug is sun bleached. The more vibrant end was probably underneath a piece of furniture while the dirty looking side was left in the sun to lighten.
Your camera work is excellent, the music that you use is always a treat, your production values are leagues beyond any other cleaning service on UA-cam! Plus, you care about your clients and their welfare and satisfaction. Wishing you continued success!

Now I see why you originally asked for a higher estimated price. That rug looks like it was definitely a challenge to clean. The fibers are so tightly compacted that it took many attempts to even start breaking through the depths of it. Hence why the dirt just continued to come out each time. Nice video buddy. These are tufted rugs with a lot of glue in the back, Careful not to over wash them or the glues can perish which causes the backing to come away (delaminate) from the tufted scrim, you'll usually see yellow water coming out from underneath when they do perish. Easily fixed but time consuming and the glues aint cheap if you use a good one. Keep em coming, loving the channel.
I'm so tired of hearing about customers haggling with small businesses. These are the same people who have no issue spending tons of money at big box, name-brand stores. Support small businesses!!!
I think its because people would rater just spend a bit more and buy a new rug. They dont see the point in cleaning it. As you can see alot of work goes into cleaning it so its hard to keep the cost down.
Also you never know how someone might have got that rug. They could have acquired it as a gift or inheritance, or they simply bought it at a time when they were better off than they are now. Seeing as the customer had kids, they might not be as financially stable so to the added expenses of raising children

I really liked the colors on that carpet. They wouldn't match anything in my house right now, but they remind me of the colors in my wedding back in 1991. Beautiful cleaning of this carpet!!
Great work! I just discovered you on TikTok a couple of days ago & at first couldn’t figure out why the heck I just had to binge watch you cleaning rugs?!! Lol But now I know why it mesmerizes me so much; it’s incredibly visually transformative yes, but what’s really hypnotic is your form! By Form I mean your techniques which are coming from how your brain is wired to do things. You do things, like me, in an ultra-extremely orderly & meticulous manner. That is a rare & a very high, almost genius level, trait! (Especially for men). Do you realize that most avg people don’t see things that microscopically & sort their processes in such a tediously orderly fashion? Well if you didn’t know~now you do! This is why it is so mesmerizing for people to watch because most brains don’t organize processes that well! Ive hardly seen anyone else do things like I do in such refined tedious order! I often am not considered the best at things on jobs…because avg people never comprehend why things take me so darn LONG to do them! But when I am done with something it is beyond comparison in perfected detail to the avg person. Perfectionists are usually of a highly gifted intellect but may not be what’s considered book smart & are very misunderstood by the mass majority of folk who do not have a gifted brain. I’ve literally had anxiety & meltdowns over a spouse moving the lawn in chaotic random circles with no pattern or linear method! Lol And I’ve had to remake beds if the squares on the comforter cover are haphazard & not aligned! Lol I’ve been accused of being ocd & crazy! Haha then I learned as I was tested that I am gifted & on a genius level of visual perception so I see things others never notice! Well I hope that helps you better understand why your cleaning techniques are captivating! And I’m glad you are being recognized for your gifts & talents! Ps. I have a degree in special education so I’m trained to recognize unique people!😉
I understand bot being able to afford things. But if this was my carpet I would make payment arrangements to pay full price after seeing all the work he did. WOW! 👏
Hey James, i really like your videos and how you are improving yourself and your cleaning process. I have a quick question: Isnt it better not to leave the rotary brush standing on its brushes? Kinda wondering if it would damage the brushes due to its own weight.
Thankyou. Yes totally, but for a short period its fine. If you leave it on is brush it defoprms the brush head and causes an imbalance. I dont leave it over night like that.
Great job! I have same machine, don't leave it standing on brush, not even a minute and it will last longer. You need to get centrifuge to speed up your washing :)
THAT is such a beautiful rug! I would have it hanging on my wall and not under foot but, only because I know how much work goes in to each fiber of making it. My grandfather was a sheep rancher and us grandkids were expected to help out when we were on the ranch for any amount of time. As an adult, I spent many hours shearing sheep, carding wool, dyeing it, and spinning it into yarn, embroidery floss or thread. I've had blisters upon blisters and legs that refused to work the next day, nightmares about being buried under a mountain of wool, or about being turned into one of those sheep and being carted off fir slaughter after I was sheared, all while trying to tell everyone that they had made a mistake. I believe that could be lamb's wool and there is precious little of that being sold anywhere because lambs are so small and wiggly that they are difficult to shear for such a small reward compared to even a year old sheep. It has to feel so rewarding to get this beautiful rug clean. Still, I have to wonder, what did they do to get so much dirt to cling to it? Is that monks cloth made out of something that just holds on to dirt because, start to finish, I'm not sure the water ever ran clear from this one!
After seeing what came out of that rug, I would never have a dark rug, if you cannot see the muck just look what you could be living with. Another job well done
Wow, you could tell from the first rinse how many different colours it had, waiting to shine through. This is the first time though, I did wonder if you were ever going to restore the cream bits to their former glory. Amazing 😍
stupid question…..do you treat wool carpets any differently? 🤔 It looks like you need a larger area to clean this rug, the dirty water keeps coming back to it. it truly was never ending!
No stupid at all. Yes, i use more delicate cleaning solutions on the wool rugs due to the natural fibers. Yeah id love more space. Im going to gain a little more soon. Thanks
Never ending filth coming out of this carpet! Unbelievable --- job well done and especially thanks for cleaning the corners thoroughly because it's really irritating when the carpet cleaners mostly skip the corners or pass over them once casually.....Thanks!
As much fun as your more dramatic videos are, I really liked this one because it feels like a rug that could have come from the home of anyone with small children, including mine.
I'd only seen a couple of your videos with rugs so filthy that you didn't even know if there was a pattern underneath, so I thought this was an easier job. Now I know it wasn't, at all! All the more reason for me to keep NOT having rugs at home. It takes a lot of effort to keep them clean.
I did commercial floor maintenance for years. I don’t think a carpet can ever be clean lol. It’s amazing what you can pick up with a bonnet and spotter
Hmmmmnnnn so you know how he's always mentioning that if he doesn't thoroughly rinse the shampoos out of the rug it'll attract dirt back to it faster? I believe that's what happened to this rug. Someone's Grandma tried shampooing it once, then it got dirty again, so they shampooed it again, and so on and so on. The gooey shampoo just trapped dirt in there and it stained over time. This rug looks like it's from the 80's so it's been ground in there for decades. I have no doubt he did the best he could but just had to call it at some point.
That final pour just makes me feel like you gotta start over and do it all again
Yeah, I got the same impresion
For real, that one was not satisfying lol

I just discovered you on TikTok a couple of days ago & at first couldn’t figure out why the heck I just had to binge watch you cleaning rugs?!! Lol
But now I know why it mesmerizes me so much; it’s incredibly visually transformative yes, but what’s really hypnotic is your form!
Lol
And I’ve had to remake beds if the squares on the comforter cover are haphazard & not aligned! Lol
I’ve been accused of being ocd & crazy! Haha then I learned as I was tested that I am gifted & on a genius level of visual perception so I see things others never notice!
Well I hope that helps you better understand why your cleaning techniques are captivating!
And I’m glad you are being recognized for your gifts & talents!
Ps. I have a degree in special education so I’m trained to recognize unique people!😉
I just like to watch carpet designs at the end. This one was my fav. ❤️
Yay! Thank you!
Hi James. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your content; your effort and time. Looking forward to the next video. 😉
Thats amazing ! Im glad you are enjoying the videos. Youre more than welcome and i think youll like the next one.
Ahhh can’t get enough of the flushing part 🤩
Great job as usual, such a pretty rug
This one took extra flushing 👍
Beautiful colours come to life.......at the end, great job! Thankyou for showing us.
Another great video from you. The production and editing on the videos I've watched so far is amazing. Thank you for sharing your work with us! ♡
Thank you very much! Its nice to hear because i work hard on them. I hope you enjoy the rest as much.
@@pranjetepihazagreb2188 Thankyou for the tip. Yes im in the process of buying a centrifuge
Hey James! Just recently found your videos and started watching. Such a delight! Thank you for these videos!
Thankyou for watching. Im glad youre enjoying them
After seeing what came out of that rug, I would never have a dark rug, if you cannot see the muck just look what you could be living with. Another job well done
I hope the customer appreciates how much work went into that!!
I think they did 💁
Wow, you could tell from the first rinse how many different colours it had, waiting to shine through.
This is the first time though, I did wonder if you were ever going to restore the cream bits to their former glory. Amazing 😍
A nice thorough cleaning!
Thank you!
I so much appreciate your quality of work here and most of all your painstaking. You have great passion for your work. Keep doing it right 👍
OMG James... from 305k to 335k subs IN A DAY?! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!🥳🥳🥳
Its really going crazy atm ! I cant quite believe it !!! Thankyou
Of all the rug cleaning videos I like yours the best, the rugs really turn out great
Ooooh I’d love a go with that scraper offerer!! So satisfying! X
Just found your videos, don't laugh but I find them calming especially when I'm trying to sleep❤
This was a lot of work and dedication. I was in tears trying to clean my rug at the car wash after the hurricane hit.
I'd totally buy this rug for my daughters room. ❤❤❤
Its a really pretty rug
stupid question…..do you treat wool carpets any differently? 🤔 It looks like you need a larger area to clean this rug, the dirty water keeps coming back to it. it truly was never ending!
Not a stupid question at all
No stupid at all. Yes, i use more delicate cleaning solutions on the wool rugs due to the natural fibers. Yeah id love more space. Im going to gain a little more soon. Thanks
@@MountainRugCleaning ……Fantastic, you deserve it! Anxiously awaiting your next video!
@@orscrub3161 Thankyou. Ill sort out the slope on the wash floor aswell so i hope its more satisfying for you all.
Love when you float the rug with the water under it and use the carpet squeegee. So satisfying ❤❤❤
Very good organization and work👍it is very important to do the back to remove deep dirt
Stunning rug. Well done!
Thankyou 👍
Thank goodness, you take care of the corners!
I'd only seen a couple of your videos with rugs so filthy that you didn't even know if there was a pattern underneath, so I thought this was an easier job. Now I know it wasn't, at all! All the more reason for me to keep NOT having rugs at home. It takes a lot of effort to keep them clean.
Whether they are very dirty or not so dirty they are still very hard to clean. Worst are when then need lots of spotting.
That was a beautiful rug by the end of your labours, well done. You must have been knackered by the finish!!
I did commercial floor maintenance for years. I don’t think a carpet can ever be clean lol. It’s amazing what you can pick up with a bonnet and spotter
Hi from California, I've just found your channel and it's brilliant.....👍🇺🇸😀
Hey, thanks! Hope you enjoy it
Hmmmmnnnn so you know how he's always mentioning that if he doesn't thoroughly rinse the shampoos out of the rug it'll attract dirt back to it faster? I believe that's what happened to this rug. Someone's Grandma tried shampooing it once, then it got dirty again, so they shampooed it again, and so on and so on. The gooey shampoo just trapped dirt in there and it stained over time. This rug looks like it's from the 80's so it's been ground in there for decades. I have no doubt he did the best he could but just had to call it at some point.
You know what you are worth, don't allow people to talk you down.
They didnt talk me down. I just really wanted to clean this rug haha
Found your video from tiktok. Love it! 😊You did such a great job 👍🏻
Thank you so much!! and thanks for coming over to youtube
