+Clay Yes they do. We are slicing through the flakes and then compressing. Flake size is some times thicker as it is easier to push larger amounts of hay through a big baler.
definitely a cool machine, but maintaining fixed equipment (machine shown) versus maintaining mobile equipment (baler) is the better scenario. Yes they still have to maintain their current balers, but the Multipack has more moving parts and is inherently more expensive/time consuming to maintain/fix than a basic large square baler. It's a numbers game, but the Multipack is still a cool machine .... so is the machine shown in the video :)
Yes the hay can be baled in the field with small balers. Hay can be more efficiently harvested in the field with big balers and transported to the barn from the field or other locations. Then we can process through the hay on an as needed basis and have more quality control and less physical labor. It would take an army of small bale harvesting and handling equipment to match the production from our hay press. It then takes an army of people and a whole lot of luck to match the quality of hay we can bale and bring in from other areas.
I want to buy this kind Weighing Pressing Strapping and I want information about the source of this type
That strapping station is slick! Does it heat bond the ends of the straps together or is it crimped?
heat bond
Just wondering how much does the system cost? And how many tons do you do a year?
Do the small square bales still come apart in flakes similar to a traditional bale?

What's the point?
did you make this system or but it somewhere? very interested
matthew roth Steffens Systems in Oregon built this machine.
I don't see the reason for this
Check out the Krone Multipack baler

Cool
What is the purpose of this? Can't the hay be bailed with a standard "small square" bailer and skip this expensive looking machine?

+Tim Hall Interesting, thanks. Not something I've heard of with farming in Minnesota.
Very nice 👍 can have your kontrakt
who sins the song hay handling has sure come along way
"The Only Way I Know" by Jason Aldean
this is stupid why not bale small to start with
Charlie Tanner your right! Brilliant idea.
