Thanks for putting this together. @0:55 from u/rebel181, the answer to the first question about Goliath doesn't cover the second part of the question as to whether or not two players playing Leadership can put in their own separate Goliaths and trigger the effect. The answer to this is "no", because Goliath's ability is "Max once per phase". From the Rules Reference Guide, "Max" reads "If a maximum appears as part of an ability, it imposes a maximum number of times that the ability can be initiated from all copies (by title) of cards bearing that ability (including itself) during the designated period." Two Leadership players who both have Vision, or someone recalling their own Vision, could use his ability again because it is a "Limit once per round", which is card specific, and the Vision that is entering play after the defeated Vision is considered a different Vision. From the RRG, "Limit" reads “Limit X per [period]” is a limit that appears on some player cards. These limits are card-specific. Each copy of an ability with such a limit may be used X times per the specified period, per instance of that ability -- @10:34 from u/zombgore, the answer to whether or not you could Stun a Webbed Up to take them out for three turns should be "Yes". From the RRG, "Status Cards" reads "Status card abilities have timing priority over all conflicting card abilities". -- @15:14 from Mr. Bass Man, for the question regarding funding teammates helping to pay for others' cards, the question asker may already be aware of this, but it may be worth pointing out that teammates could indirectly contribute to the cost of a card by letting others benefit from the Action of their own Helicarrier that is already in-play.
Hi Nomad, I just subscribed to your channel and am late to the party. This is great content so far please keep it going. I am new to the game and had a question regarding thwarting on multiple side schemes. If you had 1 threat on a side scheme and some threat on another side scheme/main scheme and you thwart for 3 does the damage carry over to the other remaining schemes (1 thwart to eliminate side scheme and 2 thwart on any other)?
With webbed up i think the stunned will happen leaving webbed up in play still to block 3 attacks as the attack wont happen to trigger webbed up. If an ally is Confused or Stunned, and I use them to thwart/attack, do they still take consequential damage? No. Consequential Damage occurs after an ally thwarts/attacks; because the attack/thwart never occurs, the consequential damage never occurs either. -Caleb The attack never occurred is my thinking. Statement from hall of heros
hi, I'm bob. I’m pleased to see that rules discussions and clarifications are becoming more prevalent with the Marvel Champions content creator community. That said, I have a few corrections for you. Goliath / Vision. ua-cam.com/video/CMhwsjTNMVA/v-deo.html Vision’s text reads “(Limit once per round).” Goliath reads “(Max once per phase.)” This is a significant distinction that seems to tell us that these two cards should be handled somewhat differently. So, the ruling on Vision doesnt entirely apply to Goliath. The idea that the effect, “It doesnt persist to other copies of the same named card” is true for the modifiers for both Goliath and Vision (as well as Goliath’s delayed effect), however there is an element that does persist for Goliath which is not the modifier itself but the rule of “max.” Because of the max rule, after you use the ability on Goliath and then return him to play with Make the Call or Rapid Response you appear to not be able to trigger that ability again. In contrast, Vision would be able to trigger its ability again. “If a maximum appears as part of an ability, it imposes a maximum number of times that the ability can be initiated from all copies (by title) of cards bearing that ability (including itself) during the designated period. (RRG p.11)” Physical Toll. ua-cam.com/video/CMhwsjTNMVA/v-deo.html “Doctor Strange and Master of the Mystic Arts allow you to play invocations.” We know that Invocations are events, but we also know that Invocations are not played. “Cards are played from a player’s hand. (RRG p.13) ” Events are played from hand, but Invocations aren’t in your hand, and the two ways you resolve Invocations tell us that you “pay the cost” and “resolve”, they do not “play” them. Furthermore, you also do not need to put event cards into your play area to resolve them, and it’s the same for Invocations. (This can matter upon emptying the Invocation deck.) The quote “Playing a card involves paying the card’s cost and placing the card in the play area” Refers to non-event cards such as Upgrades. Under “Ability,” “Event cards implicitly interact with the game from an out-of-play area, as per the rules of the event card type (RRG p. 2).” And on page 9, “Card abilities on all card types except event cards and treachery cards can only be initiated or affect the game while they are in play unless they specifically refer to being used from an out-of-play area.” So, Physical Toll does not effect the cost of Invocations. Minor note on Star Icons and boost abilities. ua-cam.com/video/CMhwsjTNMVA/v-deo.html “Stars are not boost icons, they do trigger boost effects.” You are correct in saying stars are not boost icons, however, the star icon is only a reminder and does not trigger boost effects. “In and of itself the star has no effect (RRG p. 16).” The boost effect itself is what is canceled or interacts with some abilities, the star typically will not. Webbed-Up and Stunned. ua-cam.com/video/CMhwsjTNMVA/v-deo.html Simultaneous resolution does not apply when a Villain is both Stunned and Webbed-Up. “Status card abilities have timing priority over all conflicting card abilities (RRG p. 16).” So, you do in fact effectively stun a villain 3 times when it has both a Webbed-Up and a stun card on him. The resolution would be as follows. When the villain would activate you remove the stun card. The second time it would activate you remove the Webbed-Up and stun the villain. The third time it would activate, you remove the stun.
Thinking your interpretation of Webbed Up is incorrect and 3 stuns in a row can happen. In Rules reference > Status Cards, it says "Status card abilities have timing priority over all conflicting card abilities" so (1) Villain is stunned (2) Villains "would attack" (3.1) Stunned status card activates first and removes the stun (3.2) Webbed Up activates second and stuns villain. Please correct me if I am wrong
When playing with others...does each player HAVE TO play a different aspect? or can you play multiples of the same aspects knowing this could be a disadvantage if you do so?
Thanks for putting this together.

Thanks for the clarifications! Much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
It's really cool to hear answers to questions before I need to ask them. Great content!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Hulk Smash is a good example of why we can't choose our opening hand. Yes, I'll take 23 damage on my first turn please!

The attack never occurred is my thinking. Statement from hall of heros
This is correct a stunned and webbed up enemy won't attack for 3 turns

wow, mr bass man has no idea how to play this game haha
