You must complete 2 months of service for each month of paid tuition and benefits, meaning that if you spend 4 years in medical school, you must be ready to work in the military for the next 8 years. If you also want the CAF to pay for your undergraduate degree, expect to be in the military for 16 years. If, however, you fail medical school (which is very common btw), the CAF will NOT cover the costs of tuition and supplies that you have already spent. It is best, in my opinion, to complete med school without the Medical Officer Training Plan (MOTP) and then enter the military through direct entry, the starting salary would be the same ($157,000), meaning that you can pay back your student loans in no time and you won't have to worry about an 8-16 year contract.
