The reason most things suggest downloading something in this instance is that deleting your recovery partition is a horrible idea. It’s going to mess with your windows booting, and now if you ever have a hiccup while upgrading your storage, you won’t be able to get your data back. In this one case, having some sort of third party software to be able to merge your unallocated space with your C drive is highly recommended unless you don’t mind losing all of your data.

This results in green "free space" after deletion, and my option to "Extend volume..." is always grayed out.

Thank you so much! After cloning a small boot disk to a larger disk, the resulting boot drive was the size of the source disk, which means I was still running out of space on it. I followed your directions and they worked perfectly. I now have a boot drive with plenty of space!
I need one help, win 11 it says no audio output but its a drivers issue as before update display scaling sckd but audio was working, night light feature was working too. After update display scaling n resolution is perfect but night light feature n audio output was working. Im using hdmi on a tv, audio via hdmi only. Please help if anyone knows

for anyone who was stuck on the extending c drive video, I'm not sure if this is gonna work for everyone but I basically deleted the local drive d volume AND partition and manage to be able to extend local disk c, just right click on local drive d agian and select delete partition then extend local disk c, then some stuff will pop up and I just kept saying yes and finish. Bootloader File of my windows 11 was corrupted, I recovered the system from Recovery USB Drive, but now the problem has come that earlier my Hard Disk had two Primary Partitions and the partition on which the system was installed earlier got Greyed Out and the system is installed on another partition. in my case i cant hit SHRINK ... its greyed out :/ ... i wanted to do a Partition on my External SSD ExFat ...do i have to change it to NTFS before i can partition it?
but /e is a self disk its not really in my location where c is its somewhere else where i cant access it so basically even if i try this nothing will happen.
Brother in my case the there's a disk D drive between unallocated space and C drive but its not getting deleted and the D drive shows 7-8 gb of used storage in it but there's nothing in it.

1. If your computer breaks, you cannot go to recovery mode.
2. There is no way that I know of right now.
