I love how at 3:45 the coreography is showing how diana maybe finally better so she's at a high point, while natalie, through drug use is at a low point, but they are feeling the same feelings
In Holland they did this scene with synchronising dance of mother and daughter. It looked really powerfull seeing the resemblence in movement between mother and daughter.
It's actually up on UA-cam. If you just search "Feeling Electric Anthony Rapp" or "Feeling Electric Annaleigh Ashford" you should find it. :) It's a great song, and you can see some of the lyrics pop up in other songs in the final show! :)
@@1YellowHippo thankyou sm for the answer!! If the tags are still there, do you know the label/brand? How COOL would it be if it was the EXACT same top?? Like if Jennifer donated it and you ended up buying it? (All I want in life is to one day play Natalie) 🤭
@LSprague42 the pianist is the conductor. There is a small camera on the piano; each musician has a small video monitor attached to their music stand. It's all very sneaky, but incredibly tight. :)
But didn't you know what the show was about before you saw it? I think the point is to accurately portray bipolar disorder. I'm really sorry it was hard for you to watch, and thought it was a waste of money, but I think it's much better than seeing it completely misrepresented, no? :)
I saw this show last month with Marin Mazzie as Diana and she was fantastic - but when N2N comes to San Francisco, Alice Ripley is going to play Diana!!! I'm so excited!!!!
@thoseuveknown The same thing happened when I saw the musical with my dad! He wouldn't believe that she could sing well... Finally I showed him some online stuff, so he believed me :D
@Kdelossantos2 I agree i saw her in the beginning and on tour and her voice seemed so strained and i didn't understand a word of her, even thought she was phenomenal still. She is still my favorite actress (-:
Does anybody have a full recording of the whole play that I could download. I love this play, but I don't live in New York, so there was no way for me to ever see it! :(
@mrsuke Her voice was destroyed by her Broadway run and I don't think she took enough time off between broadway and the tour. I saw her at the beginning of the Broadway run and at the end and the difference was huge.
I'm actually surprised.... The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta did it better. Love the song though, these voices are incredible - just a bit of a letdown after having a comparison.
@FuckedUpIsPerfect can u please post the whole show, like, "part 1" and all? i saw this show last week and it was terrific, and i really really want to see it!!! please!
@suitguy63 Yes I saw it too, I loved the choreography. And that made the scene really powerful! en ik ga nu even nederlands praten want het zal in het engels vast niet leesbaar zijn. Het licht in die scene vond ik ook prachtig, met zo'n soort regenboogachtige gloed op de achtergrond.
@FuckedUpIsPerfect I have a "Feeling Electric" album on my phone that marvels his perfection especially. :3 Than god for UA-cam and audio ripping, right?
Can someone who has seen this live tell me, how is the pit set up for this? I see violin, cello, and a keyboard at 1:57 at 2:25 they're clearly in front of a piano. I don't think I'm seeing a conductor. This is wild, but tight and clearly awesome.

I saw Alice Ripley on tour this weekend, and her voice was very off. She was singing much lower than she normally does and her vibrato was all over the place. it was so sad, especially since it was my mom's first time hearing her sing and i really had to try and convince her that Alice is truly a great performer
i have but all the ones ive found are either awful or blocked (like i know that there arent many good quality bootlegs of anything but like one of the ones i found had something blocking half the stage for the whole show)
oof im sorry about that. here's a bootleg i found: ua-cam.com/video/Nrg6Ss0dm2M/v-deo.html i havent watched it so im not sure if this production is good but the quality is pretty good. i hope this helps??
0:18 seconds in and I have it on pause. Maybe I shouldn't watch it. I want to see this play so bad and I like this song so much. I don't want to ruin it for me, but what if I don't see the play? UGH! This is annoying. I'll come back another day. In the mean time I'm going to torture myself with listening to "Wish I Were Here" and trying to imagine how the song would be executed in my head.
Next To Normal wasn't what I expected it to be, It just took me back to when I was first diagnosed bipolar and to watch everything a person goes through with depression and the suicidal tendencies was just too much! I had to leave the play once intermission came, It was a waste of my money and my mother's too.
The guy who plays Henry actually has really hard role in this scene and he plays it very well.
I played Henry in a production of this show a little under two years ago. This scene was one of the hardest in the show for me

Thank God there are people with video cameras who pay NO attention
to dopey rules about "no taping allowed." Thanks for posting, rebel!
"i'd never let them fuck with my brain like that" "no, you're a strictly do-it-yourself-er" gets me every time
I love this song!!!! Also,I just noticed Aaron Tveit's voice in the background! ; )
Hannah Elizabeth OH
hes one of the doctors working on diana! i noticed watching the west end cast that since its only the 5 of them they play repeat minor roles
at least , jack was one of the doctors
I saw it on tour in Denver, and Alice Ripley was Diana. She's amazing. So amazing.
This scene is the definition of perfection. I still wish they would have kept "Feeling Electric" though.
Her voice was off when I saw her on tour, too. Apparently she had laryngitis? I feel bad :( She is normally amazing!
That last phrase is so chilling and smooth..
It's actually up on UA-cam. If you just search "Feeling Electric Anthony Rapp" or "Feeling Electric Annaleigh Ashford" you should find it. :) It's a great song, and you can see some of the lyrics pop up in other songs in the final show! :)
saw Alice Ripley on Broadway in 09 and again in Seattle when the show was on tour, her voice was shot on tour which was so sad... :( Still love her.
This show was soo good! I saw it the other night. Jessica Phillips was playing Diana and Kyle was playing Gabe now.
Alice Ripley's voice is the best thing ever!
I never get tired of this awesomeness. D:
I wish there was more footage of the doctors moving the gurney. The stuff at 2:57 is minimalist, but great.
I have that same shirt Natalie's wearing and every time I wear it I think of this song.
Weird question but what’s the brand of the shirt? I rly want to get it lol
WHERE'S THE SHIRT FROM
Please drop a link!! Or picture so I can look for something similar??
@@annaelizabzth I bought it from a thrift store like 8 years ago.

(All I want in life is to one day play Natalie) 🤭
Zero dislikes. Exactly how it should be.

@mrsuke I saw the same show and thought even the flat notes were spectacular since it portrayed her character even more... I loved it!
All I want is to one day play Natalie and hopefully even make Jennifer Damiano proud
Thank you so much for putting this up!

@FuckedUpIsPerfect its alright - can you post any other videos? i'd love to see "im alive (reprise)"!
@mrsuke Her voice was destroyed by her Broadway run and I don't think she took enough time off between broadway and the tour. I saw her at the beginning of the Broadway run and at the end and the difference was huge.
i absolutely love this show!!! are you going to upload the rest of the show??
I'm actually surprised.... The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta did it better.
Love the song though, these voices are incredible - just a bit of a letdown after having a comparison.

@FuckedUpIsPerfect can you put up some more of it!!!!!!! i really want to see i am the one reprise!!!!
1:15 is when the song starts
3:08
WHAT?!? what was it called? I'm assuming that the duet was never recorded or filmed at all, but what was the name? Do you know?
Marlee Rose this song? It’s called Wish I Were Here

Do you have the full show very much appreciate it...:)
do u have any more clips from this show?
Do you have the full version?!
@BwayBoundChristian Yeah.
@thoseuveknown she was probably extremely vocally tired and fatigued from performing. poor alice
@mechaguess SAW HER AND I'M SEEING HER AGAIN!!!!
I just saw her in Pittsburgh tonight and she ruined the whole show because she sang so FLAT!!!!
does anyone have a full bootleg?
you can search it up and you'll be able to find one bud

Not really the fault of the musical though haha
perfect example of quantity over quality
