SmackDown Vs Raw 2008’s version of Sweet Chin Music was definitely my favorite! The way they designed Shawn falling over backwards on top of his opponent was perfectly animated.
I so agree. I miss moves that are perfectly animated to Pin. (Or at least Option to Pin)

DOR2 was an underrated treasure. A treasure I was blessed to have played more than any other game.
I hope they add a corner SCM with a pin option like they used to have 🤦🏽♂️. I’ve been waiting on a new animation for years.

Facts, with a static motion. Idc if somebody gotta warp in the middle of the ring. Having to take more than 2 steps before kicking breaks realism more than anything
It's in there you just have to hit R2+X+Square
What really bothers me is that he continues to stomp the ground even when the opponent is already turned around. He should start the shimmy animation before the opponent turns around and the kick should be landing as soon as they've done so.

Funny, as soon as the games went to 2k, the OOMPH of the impact was gone. As well as the epic camera angles and effects. (This goes for all finishers, tho.)

The sounds of him tuning up the band from svr06 and the sound of the kick in svr07 is a PERFECT Sweet Chin Music i love the strut after the kick too I miss that they should put it back , they took away Swag of the finishers they look so robotic now 😊
plus the superkick is also is doable as a signature move.. press back plus x while running
Great compilation! Though you may have overlooked the running SCM they had in HCTP and the OG SvR. I loved hitting that move.
I have so many memories of smackdown vs raw from 2005 to 2011 those were fond memories
If you ever feel like revising this video, you should add the version from Wrestlemania 2000/No Mercy, which is actually different from the Steven Kick.

Good to see the Gamecube games get some love in this video, I feel like not enough people talk about how good they were in comparison to all the flowers that the SmackDown and N64 games do
They really need to update HBK’s super kick animations. But the HBK disrespect in WWE games has been insane for a long time. There was a period where he had the same exact attire for like 4 years straight, we never got a proper career showcase mode & all of the superkicks are trash, currently. (Especially compared to all of the Cutters)
We also should have had a recreation of the SCM to Shelton Benjamin (as a whole movement like Rated RKO in 08, not that lame ass Catch finisher which also needs an overhaul)
HCTP grounded motion FTW plus 08’s pin option where he kicks them off both feet. Current standing one is okay only for the pin animation but it should have some sort of set up

Looking at what previous games did like the amount of moves that used to be available in the wrestler movesets to the finisher sells the new games feel lackluster.
Forreal, all of the super kicks in the game just feel empty. Older games had multiple super kick options that looked good but the damage was low. Now the damage is equal & all of the options are mid.

If you played these games on N64 and PS1 then your appreciation of the new games are on a whole diffrent level

That warzone sweet chin music was so hard to hit. But when i did. boy was it satisfying.
It was nice when the super kick was actually a threatening move/finisher. Now they execute them all over the place multiple times in a match. Especially in AEW. The move holds no real weight anymore.
I enjoyed the previous games. The animations and camera cuts during was cool, and the crowd also were overhyped unlike the current versions.

I used to love the way it did that x-ray filter on the first Day of Reckoning fame. This was way before the Mortal Kombat thing. Used to look so brutal, like with pile drivers or moves like that, like you just injured the opponent.
Man... when raw is war dropped on the N64.. the stunner and SCM were the only two moves I wanted to learn😂

Seems they finally got the realism once 2k17 to 2k22 came out.
I wish in the new games the timing was better like back then. I hate how the person turns around and you’re still standing in the corner stomping your leg while they’re just standing there dazed waiting to finish the kick. Would feel better if right as they turned around you were landing the kick. Same with spears and other corner finishers that are animated.

You know what I miss about the older games(anything with SD name in it) when you hit that finisher that graphic went across the screen...got me excited watching it, lol. The best modern one was 17 when he fell out after the kick. These games are too realistic and forget they are just games. They need to add that extra umph back into the games.
I can safely say after looking at the move through the years, that if you are not going to have a set animation of him doing the stomp setup on the corner then just drop that part and let him do a super kick. That stomping in the middle of the ring looks so awkward.

I really think we’ve been hoodwinked by 2K for years. The arcade feel of SvR and Reckoning seems like a much better deal these days. Even the models and animations look more fun! Even the crowd is better! What happened..?

I think one of the worst routes they could've taken is the change in sound effects. Not everything in gaming needs to be as close to real life as possible.
Bring back making it sound like Shawn kicked someone's jaw through the atmosphere. The slow motion build up right before impact was also a nice touch.
