Man, across all the UA-cam one has yet to find a better black metal teacher other than you. Thanks to your videos, I had yet again immersed into BM guitar after many years!
Your lessons are always great, but when it comes to chord work and theory -- even going back to some of your earlier videos -- you're always delivering some excellent and highly accessible tutorials on how people can approach these from an Extreme Metal lens. \m/
A huge thank you for your lessons: they are pleasant, clear, concise. You are a great help to learn black metal guitar and its chords (being a bass player since forever). In addition, you play in an amazing way!
Just amazing. I've been struggling a lot with these minor, major chords and never had a satisfactory answer. You did it just a few minutes. Wonderful content!
"Major; think cake. Minor; think spiders. Diminished: think pain" honestly some of the best advice I've ever been given beyond how to actually play the chords, which you just did a much better job here. I'd always reccomend looking at Neoclassical if you need a new chord to work with, some of the chords they come up with a really creative. Like, I was learning how Gus plays Bark At The Moon and he throws in a chord that's 0 0 8 across the D G and B! like, who comes up with a chord like that?
Really proper vid! I appreciate that you consistently refer to the strings by their note names rather than "6th string" or "1st string". In my mind there is no risk of confusion from perspective (low E is the first string you see but is considered the sixth string), and it "theoretically" (lol) teaches the player to think in terms of notes and theory and is a good permanent shortcut/reference point for navigating the fret board in terms of note names instead of just 0, 5, 7, 12, 15 etc.
Thank you for creating these videos, I already knew all the chords aforementioned from this video but now I learned how to structure them more efficiently 👍
If I may ask for your help and guidance; I am getting my first Floyd Rose guitar soon, have been doing lots of research online, and could only conclude that the Floyd Rose brings up lots of problems. That’s why I am humbly asking if you could maybe, make a video about setting up a Floyd Rose, tuning, restringing etc for beginners for I am used to “normal guitars” but the Jackson in question has this Floyd Rose thing. My questions go to you, since I have watched lots of your videos, and in all honesty the quality of the lessons and the playing are simply awesome. Never have I been more impressed.
Hey man thanks for the kind words Unfortunately, I don't have any floyd rose guitars with me at this current moment. The videos online about floyd rose setup/restrings are already as good as it gets
This is one of the clearest UA-cam channels for guitar, thank you for putting in all of this effort to help us out because it truly helps

The most simple and on point explanations on UA-cam. Could not condense without losing crucial information, and no extra BS. Thanks Dev!!
Thanks man it’s best to keep things as simple as possible

Great video. Thanks a lot🤘🤘🤘

Just amazing. I've been struggling a lot with these minor, major chords and never had a satisfactory answer. You did it just a few minutes. Wonderful content!
4ths, Flat 5ths and Augmented 5ths dyads (along with their + Octave Triad Variants) are also common in Black Metal
This is actually destruction theory - if well utilised many a black spell can be written
