U know I'm not gonna lie tho but I think the meaning of the song is that he was with sum woman and he knew her for how she was around him at the time, like she was just doing her thing and trynna be that perfect wife for him, but since he left she's being independent now and doing her thing cuz she's changed and she wants to live the life she's always dreamed of, so I think he's jealous ina way and expressing, like what u said, that "why did I have to leave for u to feel better, I'm all u needed" type of attitude, when rlly that isn't true. Also the beginning of why all of those women were dressed the same is because he's showing that, in his belief, that all girls are the same. So that they may all look different but they are the same people and did the same things to him. I hope this helps😁 well this is my belief of what the song is about lol😅
