I’m not a pro and only do my own nails. I’ve actually been doing this technique for months using regular nail polish not gel. I use the acrylic to build the nail, than regular nail polish, than encapsulate the glitter with clear acrylic, than topcoat. I don’t use anything that I have to cure even topcoat. I have never had an issue or any peeling or chipping and they still look great when I change the colours out up to 3 weeks later. I usually use OPI or China Glaze polish and regular OPI top coat. I tried this cause I wanted the polish to match under the glitter and didn’t want to buy tons of coloured acrylic.

Lovely set😉 I've also tried this method when I was in the same predicament of not having the color I wanted in acrylic... They lasted just the same as any regular set.. I think it's a great solution to the situation and last beautifully. Great job!

Hi from down under Australia. I didn't think I'd like these two colours together but WOW!!! How stunning & classy. You nailed it!!! I experiment all the time with different products together, & as long as the layers are cured or dry before you apply a different coat over & understand the basic principles of the different products, eg; gel likes a sticky surface to adhere to and acrylic likes a dry surface to adhere to then it should work fine. I’m a nail technician and I’ve done this technique a few time never had a problem at all 😉 and I love this set and will be doing it on my own nails tomorrow there beautiful 😻

I saw Max Estrada use his gel encapsulated, and I thought id do a little design with my cheapo gels encased and it actually lasted, I cant wait to see if a full gel nail will last inside.this is awesome. and absolutely stunning Jodie as usual, xxx

Beautiful set I've done this with hard gel but not with acrylic I think I saw Kirsty Meakin do something like this but I'll give it a try thanks for sharing x
Acrylic, glue, resin, hard gel, soft gel, are all virtually the same thing-plastic. It binds to each other when the tacky layer is rubbed off or shine is rubbed off. Acrylic is dry gel.gel is viscous acrylic. Resin sticks to plastic nails. There is no cure resin and also resin that needs to be cured. Hope this helps everybody.
I really wanna know who dislikes the video. Like to see their work lol. Gorgeous as always. Yes if you connect the acrylic good enough it will last. I have had seperation from poor application though lol. Can't wait to see what they look like in a few weeks
I love the nails. The only I would change is the rhinestones on the nail. I would put rose gold colored and not cover majority of the nail with them, and I wouldn't have put the rhinestone on the pinky nail because you really can't see it due to the glitter

I think a lot of people wouldn’t want to put up or share there experiments because of backlash or something. But I think people think when your changing up the “rules” then people will have a go or be harsh, but there’s no “rules” to creativity and you’ve shown that. You’ve inspired me and others it’s ok to test the boundaries and to never let the “rules” limit your creativity/imagination so thank you. Before Halloween I wanted to do a black net and black glitter on gray but didn't have that acrylic. So I used gel polish. It lasted!

I do the same thing. You can get way more gel colors than acrylic for cheaper. Works great😊😊😊

Of course you van incapsulate gel polish in acrylic. It is a great thing to do👌
Kirsty minky has done this before acrylic and gel polish. When I seen it I did an ombre with gel polish and acrylic and they help up great.
