This is no surgery. This is pure ART, like magic, and the skills of these surgeons just can't be quantified. You all have changed her life and gave her back her beautiful face and smile. You showed her kindness throughout, and it's clear you really care about your patients, taking great care not to damage her facial nerves. Just WOW!!! Bravo!

speaking as a retired combat vet, hurting someone is the easiest thing in the world to do. If you want too become "great", be known for the ability to help and heal the injured. The woman's enormous smile at the end has no greater reward. The Doctors resolved an ongoing problem THEN returned "mother and wife and daughter" back to her family. You can NEVER say thankyou enough.

Not only did you give her back her life, but also her beautiful face. Her wound looked very grim during the surgery and I am amazed that you can stay rational and not go into panic mode in such a situation. This is top tier surgical craftsmanship! I also like how Imelda's whole case was presented, that you showed what she and her family were going through, aswell as the planning of the procedure, the procedure itself, the aftermath, her recovery and how much her life has improved. It's so great that her facial nerves did also recover!! I've seen way too many case studies where no information about the recovery and the patients' ultimate outcome was given, so this was pleasantly different.

I 100% agree. It was so professionally done & put together. They had to have sifted through hours of footage because a surgery like that was several hours in itself & basically an "all day" event for those involved. I loved how like you said they presented it, explained what it was, what she'd been through previously & just as if we were walking with them through each step. Watching it be removed was mind blowing. I loved my surgical rotation & even this gave me pause & marvel at its detail & finished result. Astounding! Nothing short of Miraculous when this has never been in a text book. These men & women are paving the way for more rare cases to be helped because now someone knows there is help if you search!!

Former ICU RN here. I used to take care of these type of patients post-op. The number 1 issue was airway, so they would have a dedicated nurse (no other patients) for at least 24hrs after surgery. I cannot tell you the absolute awe and respect I had for the ENT/Plastics Doctors who removed the cancers, and tried to reconstruct the deformity. Not only were they incredible surgeons, but caring and compassionate people. I completely loved working with them.
It’s easy to see this team is the same. It’s a calling for sure. Not only do they save lives, they change them as well.

Two years ago I had a cycling accident that gave me a TBI and severe facial lacerations - fortunately there was a plastic surgeon on duty in the ER that day and stitched me up (30 in all). Today the only scarring is on my cheek where the wound was shallow and the skin too tight to be stitched. Doctors like these are worth their weight in gold!

@@cathypearcy5957 everything is racist nowadays 🙄🙄
The point is, in America, ANY ONE can be ANY THING they want. No matter how much the media wants to push the narrative, black people are not oppressed. Every race has equal opportunities and rights. It’s all about hard work and dedication. Oprah Winfrey- billionaire. Barack Obama- president. Daymond John- millionaire mogul. You get the point. The OP is making the point that black kids should aspire to be whatever they want and not fall into the false, oppressed narrative. When you push the oppressed narrative into black kids brains and tell them white people have privilege, they feel like, what’s the point, and don’t try as hard. Any employer is gonna hire the person who is most qualified, not who is the most white. I’d much rather have a qualified black doctor performing surgery on me, than a white person who wasn’t as qualified. Or a more qualified black pilot flying my plane. At the end of the day, black children aren’t going to aspire to be the best if they keep hearing they stand no chance, all because they’re black. The more that happens, the more white people will get hired over them, and the more that false narrative keeps circulating.

I have a friend that lives in Pennsylvania and she had cancer. The doctors tried diligently to and saved her life. However they did not prevent paralysis and she has lost the hearing in her right ear. Treatment. She had surgery 2 times before. This just seemed to be an unusual malignant re-occurring tumor.
It did appear to have lots of vascular involvement which caused more bleeding. My impression, many dr.'s would not want to tackle the procedure.

I just reached out to the husband of the woman that was on "The Doctors" Very sad she passed away. The doctors did what they could. The doctors seem very passionate about their patients. I told him my mother passed away from lung cancer. He was very supportive and we agreed we both would pray for each other.

As a retired RN, I was blessed to be part of the ever growing and changing medical field. To watch the transformation of Mrs. Imelda Carona, diagnosed with facial cancer at such an ever changing time of life, and still young enough for much joy and love for many more years. The doctors and their staff gave Imelda he life and her beautiful face back. I am so exceptional happy we still have medical professionals still willing to look behind, or rather, beyond the financial gains and see the beauty of their patients , and help them overcome almost insurmountable odds of a once impossible surgery. Imelda is so beautiful! the surgery is a great success! Now, the time of post surgical life begins, and staying on top of any and all scenarios is well within the ability of her doctors as needed. I thank the Mos High God and His Son, Jesus Christ for answering many prayers, and guiding all medical staff as they cared for Imelda. All Praise to God and the Great Physician, Jesus!
