Hey, I actually thought that this song went really well with the beer that you described (haven't tasted it myself!) - sweet but cool, and a lot of things going on under that surface. :) Props for being really attentive as viewer-reactors! You picked up on numerous important points - from the unique, progressive groove, to the "Swan Lake" moment, to Miyako going from the piano solo to guitar solo within 2 seconds (barely enough to stand up!), to Miho's usually underappreciated bass-lines, which are infinitely creative in many cases, but here they just legitimately drive the song, and mimic the guitars on every bend and curve. Plus, a very satisfying deep sound picture for this one, emphasizing the low end over which the weeping guitars and Asami's wintry lyrics can glide. Good job! You said something to the effect, what else can Miyako play, and the simple answer is - almost everything she touches. But by the maxim "show, don't tell" - you should watch, for a change, an extremely fun song of theirs, called "Spellbound". LOVEBITES do not play it often, oh but they should! It is a total throwback to the days of our youth, the band is having more lighthearted interactions than their usual norm... and you can secretly write down your guess just WHAT Miyako will play, and surely solo on, this time. :))) She IS the Golden Touch!
This song is an adventure; there are such a lot of beautiful things happening on that stage, it's breathtaking. My personal highlight: Asami dancing us through part of the song in the most graceful of ways - a true glimpse of paradise. No doubt - this band has invigorated and further developed Metal in more than one way.
Epic song. It doesn't grab you that much at first as it slowly builds but when Midori steps in with her electric guitar solo it just explodes into a phenomenal finale topped off with Asami's powerful vocals. One of my most favorite Lovebites songs.
I agree with your take on this masterful LOVEBITES piece of art, how it builds up as it goes, while the listener is helplessly enthralled. :) Except, depending on the listener's preference/ approach, the way the song starts rolling, with its offbeat rhythm, prominent bass and the guitars seemingly going against that rhythm for a time (similarly at the very end) - this may be be one of the MOST attention grabbing starts to a LOVEBITES song. I state this, because it specifically is unexpected from them, and the band does not have another song like this thus far. It is Progressive metal in spirit, technique and development, if not in the use Progressive sonic tropes. What that does, is make me love the song (and them!) even more. \m/
I don't think it is an overdub. I think the staccato part is just Midori, Miho, and Haruna on their usual instruments with Miyako playing the piano, then the last staccato part is a bit different, there's a quick run, and then you hear Miyako come back in on the right ear with her guitar. The transition has been rehearsed and isn't a surprise, so I think Miyako has plenty of time to stand and get into position during the run that the other three do, especially if a stage hand is right there to pull the piano bench/seat out of the way the same way a stagehand snagged Midori's acoustic. Speaking of which, Midori's transition from acoustic back to electric was a quick one, too.
you nailed it - the very first thought i had after seeing this a year or so ago was SNO- GLOBES ! somebody make sno -globes. one with each member in it. i would buy the set in a heartbeat
Asami always reminds me of that gorgeous little fairy 'Tinkerbell' in this one, as she flits across the stage in the snow, while Miyako tinkles on the ivories.
How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; the first side of “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish… maybe a few more. Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece, and some of the greatest never managed it. Lovebites have given us several, and I would put this performance at the top of the list.

Thanks for the suggestion and the link! I was making the same one. Alas, you gave away the "secret" instrument, lol! 😆 Surely the guys did not mind, there is still an enormous amount of fun to be had with that song!
Just one more opportunity to prove the insane talent in this band. Asami shows of her ballet and dance training, Miyako takes a break on the piano and Midori shows she is more than just a shredder on the acoustic guitar before she melt your face. This was Haruna's break time LOL. The M&M show put on another harmonizing clinic. BTW Miyako was 3/4 months pregnant and still was full tilt in this 2 hour set. You are brave, sour blueberry beer....an acquired taste for sure.
So right on many counts! Just a little dig at you calling this a "Haruna break time" (surely a kindly joke), considering the complex beat she has to pull off for this one. A single miss, and the song could fall to pieces, it is so exquisitely crafted! Sure, Harupi gets her 30 seconds of stillness with Asami dancing above her head, and the acoustic bit taking over the senses. :)
@bigg2988 LOL. Haruna makes everything she does look effortless, but 30 secs to "slow down a little" is a break as the Energizer Bunny was already in full on wimp mode. Haruna has a fierce following within the Wolfpack and I and no one will disrespect her under fear those followers will tie you to her kit for the beating of your life. BTW she rarely gets any shine time unlike many of fellow drummers and when she does it is very short.

In my opinion, this song is a freaking masterpiece - one of the best metal songs ever written.
The word 'masterpiece'is so overused in the world of music, these days. But, Phoebe, in this case, I have to totally agree with you.
One of their greatest!
MIHO ! 🐺 MIHO! 🤘MIHO! 🔥🔥🔥
Miho Miho Miho!
Masterpiece.
Thank you for appreciating Lovebites. 😊
10:12 Yes, she was. 😁 Well observed. 😁 Hell of a band. 😄🐺
Epic, majestic, masterpiece..🤘👍
THIS IS MEGA MASTERPIECE ❤😎 OF ♥️🎤⭐️🥁🎸🎸🎸
As Asami has studied ballet it was a perfect opportunity to show her stuff while resting her vocal chords.
this one really deserves the title "masterpiece".
It kind of reminded me of Lynyrd Skynyrd Freebird for a minute! Excellent reaction!🎸🤘

Best Song 🎶🌻🎵
M & M is the best guitar duo to date.
can be ALL TIME if they keep this up.
Theatrical beauty of the highest calibre 🐺

All that greatness, and Miyako is pregnant at the time.. audience was restricted to applause only (covid)..
Lovebites touches Queensryche 😉
Miyako was about 4 1/2 months pregnant at the time of this concert!!!!!! Check out M/V (Burden of Time) to see how awesome Miyako really is!!!!!!!!!

🤘🏽LOVEBITES RULES🤘🏽
🤘🤘LOVEbites
M and M the shred sisters, plus classical piano, acoustic guitar and ballet. This song has it all.

It amazes me how Miyako gets up from the piano, grabs pick and starts playing in mere seconds.... unreal. Love this song of course, it's Lovebites.
You can tell the piano stops just long enough for her to get back on the guitar
And Haruna kills it as usual

Symphony X "The Odyssey" ( 24 minutes long )
Asami wanted a sad winter ballad! The ‘acoustic’ guitar was recorded by Miyako, but live Midori Has to play it because Miyako is busy on the piano! 🤘
Lovebites delicious .

You are right. M&M practice together even at Miyako's home studio, and share the room while they are on tour.
I'll bet Wampa gets excited when princess Midori visits his house! ☺
@@TheCyberMantis Wampa might take the part of vocal.
Miyako could probably pull off an entire concerto on an allen wrench!

I'm not here for the gay beer, I'm here for LOVEBITES! 🤘🏼😆🤘🏼

Beware of Fender shredding & piano playing females that are 4 months pregnant.
