This was my favourite scene of this episode, in part because I love the song but also the actor playing Dvalinn (Jeremy Raymond) nailed the scene. Jackson Crawford recently did a video breakdown of all the lines in old norse.
The whole gungir plot is pure filler but they have done an excellent job making it meaningful. Tying Wednesday to Wagner's doom of the gods was genius.
Since that jacket is the most famous thing in the mall or even in America in general, it carries the some kind of worship in it. And we know that worship equals power. It basically recharges Dwalin's powers
Dvalin is son of ymir (the frost Giant). Unlike the other dwarf dvalin is more of a god because of who his father is and that requires worship and faith to sustain Empower him. The jacket is from a famous rock star, both worn and signed. Since the jacket received worship it became an item to hold worship, and when it was put on him the worship gave him strength and actually saved his life
Mgiggles124 I think according to the series he gets his power by proxy. Odin is a god of many things poetry, war, magic, chaos et cetera... these things exist in America in some shape so he gets a little bit of power by proxy of those things.

He deserves an Emmy or at least a People's Choice Award
Holy shit, they really knocked it out of the park with Gungnir's design!

Anyone know the song in this scene?
Lou Reed - Vicious
@@Trollioli thanks dude!!
Does anyone have those finger/hands tattoo "prints"?
beware of runes, u must understand what the meaning each of them, they not just prints. runes is nature written language
@@MsMReff I'm not stupid. I just wanted to see his full tattoo without needing to watch this scene a million times.
Who Cares
So does that jacket have healing powers or something?
No, the jacket just gave him the power he needed
My guess is that dwarves dont need worship and they gain their power from artifacts. Things in which people have faith in

@@richardjackson9584 nice explanation!
Wonder how odin was able to sustain his power. The Vikings are long gone so his source of worship was gone

What King Crimson said. That and some of the Norse gods are still worshiped, especially here in the North.
Odin is still very popular in mythology, and he is one of the most well known gods. Belief, or even acknowledgement contributes to power.
Video games
strangely pagans are still a thing (albiet watered down ones)
duergar arent dwarves lol
What are they then real question
