There is NO SUCH THING as TOO FAR!! When things that are horrible are going on, that's when jokes are most important!!
Bingo
@@licht1066 When we lose our sense of humor, we lose our true compassion, and what it is to be truly human.
"We can either laugh in the face of death or die trying not to."
As any doctor, nurse and soldier will know.
You can make jokes about anything. Doesn't mean the audience can't say "oooh". I'm sure they know he's joking, so they're entirely entitled to not feel comfortable laughing at some of them. That's just personal preference
Will a white comedian make jokes about slavery, the n word, etc? None of them do because it's an unwritten rule - a joke of that context would be "going too far". That's one example, but the point remains.
Check out him dealing with hecklers, he's quick, and yes, he really does sit in the corner signing autographs and chatting and taking pics for as long as it takes.
Great guy off stage and quite a lot of the time ON stage, you can tell by his childish laughter that he's only "taking the piss out of" as us Brits say usually instead of "making fun of" bad situations, and that he is a nice guy :)
yeah, one of the hardest working and nicest guys in comedy.
plus, he is funny as all fuck!
Comedy is always meant to push barriers, not to be taken seriously.
Taking comedy seriously is an oxymoron.
Garry Glittter was a UK pop star who got convicted of loads of sexual child offences
You forgot to mention one of his songs is still popular in the US.
It's weird that people don't get this, Jimmy makes it clear at the end of the joke.
Your'e kidding?
@@booradley8895 Nope. It's factual. I looked it myself.
I think also the fact that GCSE refers to a level of educational qualification - so the exam paper...... needs explaining to those non-Brits
If you think some of these jokes go to far this is actually tame for Jimmy
The jokes about kids shine a light on what is happening to kids, that's why the jokes are relevant in any era.... It's people that need to change.... Whoever thinks that they will go through life without hearing anything offensive is deluded....
💯💯💯💯
Absolutely love comedians that push the boundaries and go as far as possible and then past that…..brings attention to real issues while mixing laughter into it he’s the best
Jimmy Carr is the King of One-liners! Him Frankie Boyle, and Jim Jefferson have no line they won't cross which is the best.
Gary Glitter was an artist in the music industry several years ago that was find to be a ummm ... 'kiddie fiddler'.
Hence, the follow-up to the first part of the joke, "He just wants to settle down and _have kids."_
a german comic put it this way: if you make a rape-joke - you should make it so good a rape-victim is laughing - if not - shut up.
Comedy has been the most important tool for pushing stigma and freedom of speech. It is also a very important tool when things are really bleak. Some of the people I've met with the most struggles, are also the ones best at finding humor in the darkest places of their life. It's a survival tool.
A joke can never go too far. They are only words at the end of the day. If you don't find them funny that's fine. But it's never not appropriate to tell a joke that covers a taboo subject.
“There is no such thing as an appropriate joke. That’s why it’s a joke.” - Michael Scott - Wayne Gretzky
Taboos are stupid to begin with, nothing deserves making fun of more tbh.
What, you've never seen Carr before.
Eight Out Of Ten Cats Done Countdown, a British staple.
Jimmy is amazing. He's when hosting tv programs too.
He truly is one of the greatest!
Jimmy has got to be my favourite comedian, I love when edgy humour is done well. I've seen him live a couple times and met him after the show and he was so lovely, very polite and appreciative of everyone that spoke to him.
I saw him live last month in Birmingham, UK. I gotta say, some of his new material would put this video to shame lol.
"hes probably not like this through his whole shows" haha if only you knew my friends also yes pls to pt.2 tbh thats the better one and great reaction as always loves yas peaceee
Us Brits have a very dark sence of humour.
Sense*

No words should be censored in a free society.
our family used to print his programmes for his shows. we always got stuff signed when he was down south but like others have said he would do that for most people. we even got to have a drink with him in a local pub after a show which was cool
Jimmy Carr does the big fat quiz show the episodes are available on youtube
After every show Jimmy does sit down and sign autographs and chat with people for a few hours
Jimmi is so funny!
other British humor
Carrot in a Box with jimmi carr and the late great Sean Locke
YES!
Recommend jimmy carr roasting the audience is gold!
Gary Glitter was a famous prop rock star in the 70s who was a peodiphile
British humour combined with their pure En-Uk is just something to listen to🤣🤣🤣
11 years of language learning have not been in vain!😎
Nice. Where you from?
@@tick999 from Russia 😊
@Yokozuna 777 well done with your language studying 👏👏👏
@@tick999 thank you very much, now I want to learn French, since it's my THE MOST beloved foreign country. Well, WAS beloved...
@@Yokozuna_777 A Russian that is a fan of France? Now I have seen everything 🤣
These jokes would have always been inappropriate. That's what makes them so funny!
I went to see Gary Delaney last night in Liverpool and child jokes are still going strong even these days compared to when Jimmy told these jokes 😊 Love watching your reactions though, keep them coming ❤
Context is important. Nothing is off limits at a standup because you know what you're there for. You can only be offended if you take it seriously and if you're doing that you're missing the whole point and shouldn't be there. Sometimes laughing things off is the best medicine. Why spend your life depressed about the things you can't change?
Some people just don't understand that coping with the dark things is why humans invented comedy in the first place.
Ricky pushes boundaries that’s what jokes are for if you can’t push it, no harm intended.
Loved your reaction - he is doing comedy as a psychological learning experience for himself, as well as a way to earn millions
Jimmy Carr also does pannel shows 6
8 out of 10 cats, 8 out of 10 does countdown & the big fat quiz
Stand up check out him doing accents & roasting the aurdiance, he also alows the aurdiance to heckle him & he has great come backs 😊
You can tell i'm British when I think these are tame.
This is where UK vs USA comedy differs. in the UK once you're in that arena for a comedy show, it's sort of an unfounded rule that anything goes and its not reflective of the political situation of the outside world. Its sort of a breather from everyday life where everyone is in the situation to laugh at themselves and others, regardless of how dark it is (darker the better honestly) that doesn't necessarily mean that the comedian or audience believe the jokes to be true or even part of their personal beliefs, its more of an acknowledgment of the situation and how absurd and depressing mundane life is.
SNOWFLAKES!
Lov jimmy carr jokes
There are some videos where he invites hecklers to heckle him and he takes them on. It’s good stuff
Jimmy is an equal opportunities insulter. Everyone and everything is fair game. There's no discrimination, everyone gets it
DON RICKLES 50 savage insults is the one.
Frankie Boyles audience annihilations are classic
Frankie Boyle used to write for Jimmy!
The ability to laugh at yourself is in my opinion the most important ability anyone can have.
He also host a couple different shows in England ( obviously). The one I like is called The Big Fat Quiz of Everything. But it's an hour and a half long.
Gary glitter 70s glsm rock . You may be familiar with ( rock and roll part one ) it was used in the Joker movie. ( when he puts on his joker makeup and suit for the first time ) . He was discovered to be a p. He fled to Thailand, and he was eventually convinced . He was released from prison recently,
It was Vietnam, he even tried to pay off the child’s family too
@@DJQUAZER oh Vietnam. Thanks..
It’s almost cute watching Americans react to British comedy. They take things so literally and so serious. 😂
Like, “We know these are just jokes about kiddy-fiddling, but let’s just stop right now to have a serious discussion about the state of child welfare in current society and declare that we definitely do not condone these inappropriate actions in real life…”
It’s almost cute when someone calls people from Canada, Americans 😅
Try the pub landlord with al Murray
great comedians point out and bring awareness to horrible things happening in the world... Jimmy's work is from the last 15-20 years, not in the 70's where the horrible people in positions of power commiting atrocious acts would have had him imprisoned or killed... any reaction you or the audience has is a reflection of society and the world around us.... what's worse, these things happening behind closed doors, or people like Jimmy putting themselves in the firing line by spreading awareness by inducing an emotional response from the viewer, and having things come out until the open? nobody in Britain could successfully expose Jimmy Savile for decades without having their entire lives ruined. people tried countless times... Also keep in mind the title of the video.... it's a compilation of the most outrageous jokes of a 3 decade career, there's not going to be any nice moments...... a comedy show is written and structured like any other performance and where certain jokes fall within a show has an impact on what was said before or after........ not every single joke is extreme as the ones in this video. remember it is a compilation. i know the main idea is to react to a clip but i think sometimes watching an entire performance is a good way to get acclimated with certain comedians... It's the same with music. but ultimately comedy is subjective, and this an objectively purposed compilation.... sorry for that little rant
Les Dawson. Old school comedian.
Jimmy at his real best is when he's improvising. he's super fast.
Eight out of ten cats does countdown will introduce you to Sean Lock.
Garry Glitter was a British glam rock singer in the 1970's and 1980's who was sent to prison in 1999 for child porn offences and again for child sexual abuse in 2006 and a series of sexual offences (including attempted rape) in 2015.
@Lauren Lewis he never had any consent from anyone he attacked children can not consent full stop!!!!
Clue to jokes, they are a reflection of how society is.
You should do jimmy carr heckles
Happy Father's Day, Phil. I don't know if you have children, but you have Tiffany, so it still counts. 😃🐱
Thanks Robert! Really appreciate that! 🙏 Same to you if it applies (a little late)
@barsandbarbells2022 Thank you, my friend. I have a doggie, so yup, it counts. Lol 🐶
This is exactly what his entire act is. It's one liners and d jokes.
Comedy should be pushing the limits, he’s stuff is more about shining a light on what’s out there but no one wants to acknowledge because it’s to uncomfortable to talk about, putting it in a joking way allows him to get people think about the uncomfortable truths.
Yaaay, good ole Jimmy Carr. Please do more ! Check out his audience roasts, they are always a great laugh! 😅 I also highly recommend Frankie Boyle and if you prefer more tame comedy, you cant go wrong with some Lee Evans! Worth checking them out! Great reaction! 😊
love to see yours guys’ reaction to sebastian maniscalco
Everything is funny.
Everything.
Risqué is the point.
There is NOTHING that can't be joked about, if done well.
You can joke about anything....ANYTHING!!
8 out of 10 cats does countdown 50jokes out of 50 episodes. This is a British comedy game show that can get out of hand at times and Jimmy Carr is the host. Many full episodes as well as many outtake episodes on utube.
Jimmy's jokes are funny and mentally hard to take, but he'll never be cancelled in the UK for it. In fact he's a UK media favourite to interview and to host several game shows.
Yeah Americans always seem a bit more stick up their arse about comedy.
Much non Brits will miss
Good luck!
So serious.. it's called a joke...
I think it's important that the content of comedy be unrestrained. There are times and places where certain topics are just beyond unwelcome, but when a man is on stage at an event you have to pay to get into or at least have to willingly watch, 'inappropriate' just doesn't exist for me. Anybody who knows anything about Jimmy Carr knows what to expect: If it makes people laugh, it's plenty appropriate. That's the point of a comedian. You just have to pick your flavor.
FINALLLLLLYYYY
Anthony Jeselnik is another funny one.
her husband is funny to, his name is gary delaney..
Check out 8 out of 10 cats, Carr is the host, but the game show is hilarious.
Frankie Boyle .... "Audience Annihilation"
If you're after a list of UK comedians there's a load on here: Sarah Millican, Al Murray, Billy Connolly, Johnny Vegas, Rowan Atkinson, Harry Enfield, Lee Evans, Dave Allen, the 2 Ronnies... it's endless- not to mention a UK icon Miriam Margoyles on the Graham Norton show!
Dave Allen is from the UK? 🙄
@@bmichael3580 He's from Ireland to be precise- I first met him when I was 6 lol.
@@bmichael3580 Irish.
You would like 8 out of 10 cats, a show done by Jimmy carr
Check out anything from Gabriel Iglesias. Top recommendation the gift basket, road trip, border patrol, fluffy goes to Saudi Arabia, flugfy goes to India, Magic Mike
We've done Gift Basket & Road Trip already!
The harsher the jokes, the better!!!
If one wants to take offense at anything, do it at the news, that's REALITY, that's no fucking jokes!!!
Joking about rape: I remember many years ago, Playboy magazine’s Unabashed Dictionary defined rape as “assault with a friendly weapon.”
ROFL 😂
Certainly not his riskiest stuff so far? Even once the references are clarified. However, this is probably a little more palatable for the North American market?
British comedy tends to be very edgy, dark and dry we just dont care everything is fair game and Jimmy to this day is still telling these types of jokes.
Garry glitter is a kiddie fiddler pop artist
It’s because you’re American British sense of humour is completely different
It took me a while to understand "you're American British sense of humor".
God I am sick to death about hearing about British humor. It's called humor.
@@Andres64B yes..& it's different, for Americans especially! It's a fact.
You need to see 8 out of 10 cats does countdown
Hes the host and its one of Britain's best comedy panel shows full of comedians competing against each other
😂
Honestly, people are allowed to be offended as long as they don't feel like they have the right to take away other's livelihood. It's your feeling, you deal with it. Just like people with anger issue, it's not other people's job to keep them happy.
I'm not directing this towards you two, by the way.
Jimmy Carr was studying to be a Priest and was a virgin until the age of 26.. From one side to the other baahaa
Gary Glitter was a singer/entertainer that everyone should have picked for a complete pervert. I think he is still in jail..
14:10 What do they say when they give you an SAT test/exam paper to do? "Turn (it) over, you have an hour".. or something similar. haha
There is another that he "scales" up the riskiest joke.. Some of them are ring dingers.
Thats not the worst joke he has ever "heard".. Its an Aussie Pub Joke..And its pretty gutteral!!
I have never seen Jimmie Carr as going to far on things... he might be pushing things to the edge, but he does comedy, so we all know "besides some Karens around the world" do know it just fun and jokes. And as a personal note... thank god I don´t care about anything, so I can´t be offended by anything....
My opinion is that he told us and we didn't listen. What is our next move.
Do Les Dawson with Shirley bassey
8:46..."When they were told." How old do you think Jimmy Carr is? 😳
Try Frankie Boyle Audience Annihilation, if they still play it.
This was actually pretty tame compared to some of his stuff. His abortion jokes are particularly good.
Check out Frankie Boyle v hecklers.
I think the kids jokes were just as risky then as they are now. May have even been riskier
next AGT 2023 Putri Ariani from Indonesia, watch the full video (emotional and inspirational) viral on youtube 36M viewer - 12 Days ago
Try some Don Rickles.
We all protect kids we’re all parents it’s just jokes
If your sensibilities were offended, then it's lucky you didn't live 150 years ago when things were really bad.
Well… it’s his most riskiest jokes 🤔
Words can never hurt you, unless you let them. ✌🏼😎
Totally. Getting hurt by words is such a first world problem. If we travelled back in time a few centuries, nobody on the planet would understand how that's even possible. Unless we are talking about insults, but that's just ego stuff of course. "Sticks and stones" is something that Jesus taught, and for good reason.
Talk about jumping in at the deep end….
I don't understand the notion that what you find funny depends on if something is or isn't appropriate in comedy.
I'm not saying that in a "dude i can't believe you think XYZ!" way, I just think if something makes you laugh it's funny, and that isn't something one mulls over and decides is or isn't funny, it's a reaction.
So I just have a hard time understanding your position.
So like while someone may or may not have social concerns about certain topics or even jokes in comedy, that is a separate issue from wether something is or isn't funny.
And of course there's always people conflating the subject or topic of a joke with the target of the joke, which just means one isn't getting the joke and thus can't really judge it.
Most controversial jokes are satirising attitudes about the topic of the joke, not making fun or light of the topic.
And now I'm rambling. Great.
