We should remember that even if our family are not putting the effort in, we should be the ones who initiate it and do our bit. Even if they are holding grudges or you believe they wronged you, we need to overlook this and remember we are doing our role and doing it for sake of Allah and we will be the one who will be rewarded. And ofcourse the reward in the dunya is also that ill feelings will disappear between family members and love and mercy will grow instead inshaAllah.

Be good to parents and relatives. Someone said after marriage this apply more to sons than daughters when I pointed out that parents have rights over daughters after marriage. Is it true that after marriage wives must ignore their parents and relatives if husband says so for no good reason?
