I live for the OG Big Jack opening
I saw EARTHQUAKE at the theater twice when it was first released. ‘Sensurround’ consisted of the theater cranking up the bass as loud as possible, vibrating the entire room and giving everyone a headache. I would have loved to have seen Universal Studios planned remake of KING KONG (more so than the Dino Delaurentiis’ version, which I also saw on the big screen) when they considered using Sensurround, probably for Kong’s (and dinosaur’s) roars.

Fun Fact:
Jennings Lang, the executive producer of *"Earthquake"* and the *"AIRPORT"* sequels had a son named Rocky Lang who went on to be a producer for *"TITANIC"* (the 1996 CBS Miniseries).
In my opinion, its original screenplay
by *"Rush Hour"* creator Ross LaManna
(initially written to be four hours long)
is better than the rewritten & condensed version by Joyce Eliason.
