I run two 8 ohms subs in series. They sound great i'm hearing sounds i never heard before wheni ran then at 8ohms. My amp runs cooler and i'm not turning up the gains or volume to compensate. I love it... it hits hard and feels different, Give it a try. The fact that i'm in bridge mode, may be the reason the power seems to still be strong.
Great overview. Coming from an electronics background, it all comes down to impedance matching. The source (amp) must match the load (speakers) if you don't want to damage/overload/underload your system.
If I were to build two speaker boxes containing two 18 inch 8 ohm speakers each and wired them both in series, they would both be playing at 16 ohms. If I were to then daisy chain them together at the speakon connectors, would they be playing at 8 ohm impedence or 16 ohm impedence?
I wanted studio series amp/ speakers in my car , due to the fact that me & by brother produce music & test it on the go sometimes..this came in the clutch amigo! thank you
I have a boss riot 1100 watt amp the amp is rated 1 to 4 ohms and I have two 12" JL audio 12w1v2-4 hooked up for 2 ohms and I want to add one more subwoofer same kind what is the best way to hook it up without hurting the amp.. I know the subwoofers are 600 watts each so if I hook up 3 off them that would make 1800 watts so would I need a 2000 watt amp?

I got 2 JL Audio 12w1v2-8 they're both 8 ohms each 300watts RMS old school Subwoofers. I bought them from a guy I used too know, they've been sitting in my closet collecting dust. This Winter I wanna have a custom ported box build for them, now I'm guessing after they both become 4 ohms wired in parallel, I would need an amp stable at 4 ohm.
Is it possible ( and how if possible ) to wire two 8 ohm speakers in one speaker box so the hook up wires for both of them ( to the amp ) will be at 8 ohms ( not 4 or 16 ohms ) ??? This question is for a two speaker box ( each with two 8 ohm speakers ) system. thank you !
Sir I have two subwoofer speakers which is 6ohms each, the amplifier is 4 to 8 ohms please advise me how should I connect the speakers parallel or series
I want to know I have 6 speakers 8 ohms and watt is 8 watt each. I want to use it with PAM 8610 Circuit. Is it possible. and How much power supply needed for that circuit. When I use 4 speakers with this PAM and Power supply is 12 volt 2Amp. But when I use 2 speaker more than at the time of high volume it will make ups and downs the sound.
I just bought 4 mid range speakers that are 8 ohm at 125 watts rms now what’s the best 4 channel amp to buy to to power these ? Would I mend to wire them a certain way also ?? If I wire them make them 4 ohm does that mean they’ll have to be powered at a lower wattage rms ?
I have one 10 inch kicker solo baric round old school single voice coil sub, but the sub is 8ohm. And I have a boss 2 channel 1200 watt amp and it's old school also. Just never heard of a 8ohm svc subwoofer
Is it ok for two 8 ohms tweeter whithout crossover and wire it to series config and add bass blockers and connect it to 8 ohms instrumental speaker in parallel config what is the equal ohms of this combination. I have a stereo amp that supports 8 to 16 ohms is it good or bad for the speakers and amp?
still not enough info i got here, you see you just do it on 1 one side of an Amplifier or Mono what happens if I will have to fill in the other side to balance the audio ofcourse i will, and i will put another 4 speakers? so would that be fine? what is the computation then?

Hi, Please help me, I want to connect my two 15" instrumental speakers, 1 midrange and 1 tweeter, to my 3way crossover network. all rated 8ohms. Should I connect the 2 instrumental speakers in series or parallel? My amp is rated 8ohms. Thanks for your help.
Can it be connected a 16 Ohms tweeter (with the filter capacitor) to the 4 Ohms full range driver? What would be any difference in sound? Is it safe for both tweeter and the full range driver? What the method should follow? Kindly explain? Thank you.
i have 2 technics sb-a38 towers they are a 3 way, 4 driver tower. each tower has 1 tweeter 1 mid & two woofers. the woofers are 10 inches and 12 inches. the impedance & wattage are listed on a tag on the back right under the speaker wire connections. both say the same but they say 8ohms @130 watts. now i would like to run both towers to an amp. can someone instruct me on how to get the full effectiveness of each driver in each tower without any complications or distortion
What if we wire the speakers in parallel, but one of the speaker broke? Will it get from 4 to 8 ohms and damages the amp? (Same question goes for the in series connection)
Yes .... R should be between 4 and 8 (if its 4ohm add 4 ohms resistance inseries of equivalent wattage to match SPL & SENSITIVITY .... Make sure sensitivity remains same for both speakers )
Sir, how can I connect my 400 watts 12" subwoofer 4,8 ohms to my home amplifier that is 550 watts per channel with 4 speaker terminal .each terminal is rated with 8 ohms.I'm afraid to do it with my self alone.before I make any move or desition I want to ask your best advice if I continue this or ill go find another amplifier that is rated with 4 ohms only..thank you very much sir, I know you are the right technician that can help me how to fix this problem...good day to you sir.....
So with the series parallel you showed 8 olm for the set of 4. It’s going to one channel of the amp. Would the load change if you used more than one channel
So in the third example (series¶llel), it's ok to just connect the four speakers to one of the two +/- terminals (L&R; just using the R +&-) as opposed to the first example (parallel) where both the Left and Right positive and negatives are used?

please help me,I have three speakers (8ohms) and I want to connect to the amp in one outlet, how can I wire that three speakers?
Lower the resistance the better right? Means more power. So a total resistance of less than 4ohm will be ideal. Please correct me if im wrong thanks.
Can i use a 3 ohms speaker to a 4 ohms amp?
Don't think so, lol I'm no expert though.
Can I connect two speakers in series or parallel having different wattages ?
Yes .... R should be between 4 and 8 (if its 4ohm add 4 ohms resistance inseries of equivalent wattage to match SPL & SENSITIVITY .... Make sure sensitivity remains same for both speakers )
Forgot to say ... You must not ....overplay than the least powered speaker ....

So with the series parallel you showed 8 olm for the set of 4. It’s going to one channel of the amp. Would the load change if you used more than one channel
very educational thank you
So in the third example (series¶llel), it's ok to just connect the four speakers to one of the two +/- terminals (L&R; just using the R +&-) as opposed to the first example (parallel) where both the Left and Right positive and negatives are used?
In the combination, parallel/series wiring, are you wiring all 4 speakers into the left channel? I’m assuming then you could add 4 more speakers to the right channel with the same wiring? I know this is an old video, but maybe I’ll get a confirmation... thank you!
After watching this video, I tried it out and the answer is YES. 4 speakers to the left channel and 4 speakers to the right.
I need help
what about three 8 ohm speakers in parallel?
